Good place to buy it?

Is clove a good site to get this phone from or is there a better place?

Without contract the best places are expansys - £494, Handtec - £502 and Clove - £514
With a contract the best place is www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, you can get the phone on Vodafone or T-Mobile for a very cheap price and it is fully unlocked to all networks.

clove is the best if you dont have to pat VAT. I am in the states so ther eis no VAT for me.

I get it from clove. Fast delivery and nice tracking too :>

I get it from Inkino in London the price is 519 pounds.

I'd vote for Clove - have used them for years (since the Psion days) and they're nice & friendly. Delivered mine next day.

Did any of you US clove buyers end up paying import duties? If so, how much?

My vote is for Clove also. Just started using them but found them to be quick and reliable.

I can tell you that mine with a contract from T-Mobile was $396 taxes and shipping. I simply renewed with a new 2 year contract to get that price. Still not happy with the cost, but it was still cheaper than getting one with a German QWERTZ keyboard ( since I live in Germany and have T-Mobile in the US, too).

Oh... Hmmm, well, I'm getting it from T-mobile too, except without a contract. I think without contract should make up for it, no? Since I'm on prepaid.

Not a bad deal at all. I paid $540 shipped overnight for mine unlocked. Wasn't brand new but it basically was. Hardly used, 10/10 condition, box and all accessories. I wish I couldve paid just $460 haha ... hell, if you don't like it, you can always resell it for $100+ more than what you paid.

Paying more than $150 isn't a good deal...

I´m sure prices will drop waiting all this fever of getting it first!

You got ripped off lol I could get one unbranded for $655 but I'm not a Gsm user so i have to wait for verizon

You can get an Unbranded on for as low as $600.00

many people here not realizing how lucky they are with the subsidized price from operators... *although by partially selling your soul to them on contract *
i can confirm shadixs experience cuz I paid around that much too. but in our cases, it's price after tax and includes after-sales warranty. we can buy through ebay, or imports, but no after-sales...

Those price include the VAT (VAT are kindda taxes and they only apply for European countries) judging from your flag, you're not in Europe, so if you happen to order, the VAT value will be deducted from the over-all price you mentioned

Last time I checked...around $530 from Handtec

I will wait for black market version, the shop guy pretends he will get it within 2 weeks
As for the price if he's selling the N1 for 750$ right now I think the Desire will cost 650$
BTW ok it costs much less from Clove but you have to add 20% Lebanese customs

Feel free to go to UPS.com and calculate the rates yourself for a 2lb package with dimensions 8x6x4 inches.

O2 now have them in stock for the UK Just ordered one!

They only deliver to home address and I'm not willing to take a day off work. I'll take my chances next week and visit an o2 store.

I would contact them to make sure they have it.
It shows as in stock but when I rang today I was told 3 weeks waiting. cancelled my order and will not go back to O2.

Was neither, was an American company that contacted me with an Asian lady (who wasn't great with english) by emails. It was drop-shipped to me from Taiwan through Fedex...
