Good place to buy it?

Is clove a good site to get this phone from or is there a better place?

Without contract the best places are expansys - £494, Handtec - £502 and Clove - £514
With a contract the best place is www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, you can get the phone on Vodafone or T-Mobile for a very cheap price and it is fully unlocked to all networks.

clove is the best if you dont have to pat VAT. I am in the states so ther eis no VAT for me.

I get it from clove. Fast delivery and nice tracking too :>

I get it from Inkino in London the price is 519 pounds.

I'd vote for Clove - have used them for years (since the Psion days) and they're nice & friendly. Delivered mine next day.

Did any of you US clove buyers end up paying import duties? If so, how much?

My vote is for Clove also. Just started using them but found them to be quick and reliable.

I can tell you that mine with a contract from T-Mobile was $396 taxes and shipping. I simply renewed with a new 2 year contract to get that price. Still not happy with the cost, but it was still cheaper than getting one with a German QWERTZ keyboard ( since I live in Germany and have T-Mobile in the US, too).

Oh... Hmmm, well, I'm getting it from T-mobile too, except without a contract. I think without contract should make up for it, no? Since I'm on prepaid.

Not a bad deal at all. I paid $540 shipped overnight for mine unlocked. Wasn't brand new but it basically was. Hardly used, 10/10 condition, box and all accessories. I wish I couldve paid just $460 haha ... hell, if you don't like it, you can always resell it for $100+ more than what you paid.

Paying more than $150 isn't a good deal...

I´m sure prices will drop waiting all this fever of getting it first!
So if there is no rush for having it, waiting always is better.

You got ripped off lol I could get one unbranded for $655 but I'm not a Gsm user so i have to wait for verizon

You can get an Unbranded on for as low as $600.00

many people here not realizing how lucky they are with the subsidized price from operators... *although by partially selling your soul to them on contract *
i can confirm shadixs experience cuz I paid around that much too. but in our cases, it's price after tax and includes after-sales warranty. we can buy through ebay, or imports, but no after-sales...

I think both nexus's were in the range of $550 when they debuted. There is no way in hell the galaxy nexus is worth above $600. In 3 months the phone will have lost a third of its value.

not sure how much they were if they were ordered through google. i ordered one of the white nexus s models (before at+t released their subsidized one) on negri the day it appeared on the site for 598.50.

Have bought a sgs2 from mobilecityonline.com and didn't have any issues. On expansys they are well known site for selling unlocked imported phones, so you should be ok. But yeah the prices are always on the higher side on these sites. International SGS2 was initially selling at $750 in expansys at the time of release.

Clove co.uk = 812 USD, 590 €, 430 GBP
with EU VAT number = 512 €, 705 USD
Calculations made ​​for my country, Slovenia
Im pretty happy with 512 €, just need to sell GS2 for at least 350 €

Yeah i did like I was going to buy one, didn't need registration to see that if I remember well. When you choose delivery location it should tell you the price of tax and shipping

I am also from canada and i ordered from www.handtec.co.uk , anywhere you pre order outside of canada you will have to pay taxes and duty fee's to the delivery guy when it gets to your door, for the one x it will probably be around 80-100$ on top of what your gonna pay from the retailer. From past experience make sure they don't ship via UPS as they are horrible and charge handling fee's and stuff.

Fedex also charges handling fees. I have ordered from handtec before, and fedex delivers it around 2 days. Really quick service.
Handec declares the amount you paid for the device. So if for example you paid $700 for the device, you will pay the fedex guy upon delivery 12% tax (for BC) plus their handling fee.

Shoot 12% is a lot on 700$... :/ why can't they just sell the One X in canada?!?!?! or in the states even.... do you think it'd be cheaper if i got some sort of contact in UK to send one to me??

Well handling fee i assume is a flat sum however if i could somehow not have that 12% tax...

I may have to go for the sgs3 just for availability

Rogres will be getting the One X but they have the S4 LTE version which is just as good

Was neither, was an American company that contacted me with an Asian lady (who wasn't great with english) by emails. It was drop-shipped to me from Taiwan through Fedex...
VERY good phone but I did pay a bit much for it.... Price to pay for pre-order....
