It could happen. We will NEVER get an official update but it's possible we could get a custom rom from one of our developers.

There's 2 in development that have been announced on here.
One has already been released as a 'beta' for testing by Tom although it seems there are bugs at the mo so it's not a final release. To download this got to the thread named 'oops black beta'.
There's another German one being made with the possibilty of an English version too.
Hopefully with 2 Diamond roms out in the not so distant future we'll have something pretty and new to choose from soon!
Also just wanted to clarify, I have heard that Windows 7 mobile should be out pretty soon. Does any one have any clue of this version ?

There could be WM7 roms floating around before then, but I'm unsure whether Artemis and some existing HTC devices would be able to support this or not.

I have the HTC TyTN II and its running windows 6.0 at the moment. I would liketo upgrade to win 6.1 as I am told it is faster. However as it is a 3 branded mobile phone with Planet 3 set up as an option on the main screen, will i lose this Icon when I upgrade as it states on the HTC website. I have spoken to 3 and they do not support the phone any longer, so any help would be very much appreciatedv on this.
Also is there a lot of benefit in upgrading to 6.1? My son has 6.1 on his HTC and it does seem to run a lot faster and the apps seems a lot smoother too.

Im a big time noob in windows mobile and HTC i have never had a WM phone before, So my question is, can i get WM 6.5 on my touch pro 2 somehow? seen it on diamon and old touch but haven't seen it on touch pro 2 well besides that youtube video.
It will be offered as a free upgrade, no need to hack.
As fortunz said, HTC will provide a wm6.5 upgrade but no date has been established yet. Once we have the official wm6.5, then are chefs will be cooking up some 6.5 roms as well.

rom's will start coming as soon as the hardspl is finished. until then we all will just have to wait, but when it does get done all our tp2 will be alot better than the stock roms.

That was a tiny one.
ROM=Read Only Memory. This is a pre-programmed chip in the phone that, among other, also contain the OS. Many other programs and utilities can also be programmed into the ROM.

if you are a noob to this what i would suggest like somebody suggested to me when i 1st started is to read the XDA-wiki right at the top of the page.
it helps alot, explains terms n what they mean. hope it helps

I'm sure they misunderstood you. I'm also 100% sure there wont be official update for Diamond with TF3D2.5
TF3D 2.5 won't be available for diamond 1.
I emailed HTC a few weeks ago, they said that they didn't know if theres gona be an official rom to Diamond1.

Why the would release the older one

I think TF2.5 would be too much for the original Diamond´s hardware.
Maybe I´m wrong though and they really manage to streamline and optimize it.
It is already amazing what the original Diamond is able to do.

I asked my question in support section of Diamond (not diamond2) section of HTC site, so it is not possible that they replied about diamond2 instead of Diamond. Why don't you try to ask HTC regarding TFT3d ver 2.5 as I asked?
They're shouldn't be waiting for Microsoft, they should be waiting for xda-developers!
The HTC HD2 can now dual boot android and windows phone 7. I know that the hardware of the two phones are near-identical. Would it be possible to port WP7 to the Evo as well? If so, is anyone doing so?

you are in the wrong section, yes you want a developers input but you are asking a question about a WM phone in an Android rom section......

No...
1) No one has said they are working on it.
2) I'm sure XDA would not allow it on the site due to Microsoft license (before you ask, it isn't license for our phone. Like swype can only be included in roms that it comes stock in)
Well I knew nobody was working on it, I was just curious about the possibility. I figured the licensing would be a touchy issue, but I honestly wasn't sure where exactly XDA stood in that regard considering the HD2 seems to have full support. Just curious, really.

why? we all came from winmo devices. all android is, is a better version of that, same principle and fanbase. sorry but i had to say it.
