Just seen this so fingers crossed.
http://www.techtechies.com/20100707...announced-htc-desire-getting-froyo-first.html
would be a good birthday present
Am I missing something? the HTC PR guy excerpt is from an older interview I read before. He said "before xmas" in the full interview. No mention of august, and again this unsubstantiated news clip gives no evidence of when HTC said "august". please reference HTC "august" comment if your going to post this stuff.
Taken from link.
According to the news the lucky ones would be the HTC Desire holders, as the Android 2.2 (Froyo) going to rool out for HTC Desire in August
Al so noted here.

thanks. I hope it comes true. I decided to wait for the official update instead of going with a ROM off here.
Same here. Haven't yet rooted as it looks like most of the stuff I'm after (and was on my old HD2 - wireless hotspot and app2sd) is coming with Froyo. I was a seasoned WM flasher (it can be so addictive!) but thought I would try and control myself this time around ;-) The sooner 2.2 arrives the better.

Haven't rooted yet too, no rush.
I really hope so, but seriously...October sounds more like it...HTC was never fast and known as a delay vendor. I would say late September, early October.

my bet would be, late aug early september
HTC has not annouced any official date yet and i dont know where these two web sites are getting it from. This read is so similar to the x amount of previous threads all saying its coming 'next' month etc.
The post date of the article is July 7th. We need less speculation and just wait patiently.
Q3 like has always been stated, that's July-September.... so my guess is some time between now and the end of September probably later rather than sooner.. (that has not stopped me from clicking on System software updates > CHECK NOW!' every day )

one long topic going on about froyo on desire in two weeks time. lol
After four weeks since 1.29 landed on the One X - how much longer will it take for operators to release it to their customers? And do you think they'll release .07 first and we'll then have to wait another month until they release the much more important .11, or might they be smart enough to jump straight to .11 as it was released in the same week as the earlier update and actually achieves something (removing screen flicker?)

could be anything from 2 weeks to 4 weeks if not even longer. sometimes they can skip updates...when they get their ass in gear then you might see an update..disappointing really and wish they took more of an apple approach towards updates. that is one thing you can not fault the iphone.

In an ideal world Android would have a kind of layered architecture, with a core produced and updated by Google, then a manufacturer layer added on by e.g. HTC and updated by them, and finally an operator layer in which the likes of Orange can add all of their stuff, and push updates for this themselves. This way when OS updates are released they get pushed immediately as with Apple, then the manufacturers push their own without the networks getting involved, and finally the networks do their own things with their layer. Hey, I can dream, sitting here with an Orange branded One X running 1.28.061.9.

I agree - but it IS four weeks and there's no sign of an update. I could do without .07 and am waiting for .11 as it will fix my flicker - my worry is that my operator (Voda UK) will have focused on .07 as it was out a day or two earlier and will only get round to .11 when the pretty minor .07 goes out...
Pretty much why we need S-OFF and a reason HTC should give it to us on HTCDev. Especially with this phone, which is requiring updates quick to fix pretty big flaws (flickering for one).
Why it takes 4 weeks + to bundle some bloatware into the update we'll never know.
I think they will go straight to the .11 release.
I bought my unbranded handset last week and although it is a different release sechdule my OTA updates went straight from 1.28 to the 1.29.11 version, missing out .7 completely.

Whenever I've tweeted Orange they just say they "have no information about updates for the One X", almost as if they're copying & pasting it as the wording is identical every single time I've asked.

They'll release .07 in two weeks (that'll be six weeks after everyone else got it) and .11 - the one everyone wants - won't arrive for another six weeks...

Only response from t-mobile Twitter was they don't know when it will be available so just asked of they could debrand my HOX lol (doubtful but worth a shot lol)
Hello
i am wondering if there is any update delay depending when did you buy the phone...
i mean, those who have bought the phone earlier will get the update before those who bought it later?
and i am stricly speaking of NOT ROOTED, no custom ROM devices!
PS: i bought it 3 week ago and still nothing...
Updates are usually first pushed to unbranded devices by region i.e Europe, Asia etc... and then to the carriers so they can add there bloat ware and from there to the customer.
Jelly Bean has not yet been officially realised yet, it should come towards the end of this month
You can find out more by searching XDA and Google!

yeah OK, but other forums said it is rolling ou this october... we are almost at the half of October and i am getting nervous...
anyway! is ther any possibility of a delay depending on the time of bought (or the day the device was produced)???
PS: BTW i have an unbranded device
Updates are not depending on the date you bought the device. It's only depends on the region of your phone.
Please .... google and/or HTC please do NOT announce any update anymore in advance !!! It floods the forum with a lot of questions and insinuations !!! I'm really going nuts everytime i open xda to see another question how do i update my hboot, how do i flash JB !

Hello All,,,
the (OTA) update for the E9+ is not available yet, and i have contacted the HTC customer care and they confirmed that they are having a lot of models to upgrade and the updates are not available till now!
Even that it was announced before that the Android M would be ready in the Q1 2016 but unfortunately it is not, so i thing that most of the user are not satisfied with this issue.
So i suggest to push HTC and keep contacting them to make more complaints about this issue
so everyone enter this website and keep asking about the updates
http://www.htc.com/us/contact/chat/
Regards
Yeah,its defo disappointing.
3rd quarter has ow started and still no official update.
Ive even contacted them on facebook to which they were kinda enough to get back to me but when I did ask about ETA for marshmallow on the E9+ they said they cannot share those details.
Oh well, guess we'll just have to keep waiting.
As Ive said before,I think the E9+ can be a really good phone but it needs marshmallow to really optimize it.

Unfortunately yes, we dont have any other option, we have just to wait, but the shocking thing is that they promised and announced that the update will be available in the first quarter of this year and it wasnt! and they didnt come back with a clearance or any apology message, any way let us wait and see when it will be ready....
GUYS, keep entering this website which will take you to live chat with HTC costumer support because i have been told that as much as they got complains about any issue they will take it as a priority, so maybe they will work harder on getting the Marshmallow ready for E9+
the website is in the first post....
Good luck
not new news about andrion 6.0?
I read an E9+ user comment on GSM Arena, someone said they got info from customer care saying that Marshmallow should be available for the E9+ in two weeks.
That comment was made on the 28th August so hopefully E9+ will have it in within 10 days or so.
Or we can guess mid September.
Will see.
Good news, everyone!
HTC has released the first beta build in China for m9 + marshmallow. Now we must wait for our E9 +.
When can we receive the update?Any news?
I just had a chat with htc agent, and he told me that my phone (One E9) was made for Taiwan market and, since Google is banned in China, Marshmallow update depends on if Google will do it, not htc, but a few weeks ago, another agent told me to monitor social media, did not mention anything about the ban, although I'm not sure what that has to do with software update...
I ask about e9+ marshmallow update htc help center. they said me e9+ users ready for update in november end or december first week. Now confirmed.
End of Nov or early Dec eh..damn I hope so,we've been waiting to long for Marshmallow on the E9+.
Hopefully it will help battery issues some are complaining of.
any news about update to marshmallow ? :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Any news for HTC ONE E9+?We will receive Android 6?
I was wondering the same.
Yes, it will come...We just have to wait

Yep I'm currently doing that right now, glad the update has all the updates combined into one!
Yeah it was there when I got out the shower this morning as I hadn't even done my morning manual scan for updates yet.
Glad Three finally delivered for you all and in full which is a shock! Thought it would always be behind.
Not bad. 1 week after the non-carrier version. Three must have rejected the mr2 update since it had so many bugs.

I think you are right
I and a few years others were across on the official Razer forum causing some friction..... The general idea was to create more negative hype quicker than what they could create positive... I think they and three got the point.
Let's hope they keep up now, with the kitguru article they will have some work!
Yeah I saw that KitGuru article come up but seems it got published after the update went live so just bad timing on that.
I didn't want to give razer negatively my point to them was you have a lot of loyal fans of the brand and to communicate what's going on with public updates rather than keep us in the dark. Sometimes they need listen to their customers and respond rather than looking to point the blame.
Got to hear the updates are finally coming through...
Really glad to hear that you 3 UK users are finally getting your updates, as I think it was terrible that you have such a fantastic phone and for no updates to be pushed to the phone (and razer have pushed out about 2-3 updates on my unlocked variant). The update should also contain the latest security patch (I think it's January)...
Hopefully they can (as they have suggested) sync the unlocked and 3 UK variants future updates, simultaneously
I left 3 a few years ago since the price hikes, Are they still bundling bloatware with the OS? Very interested in this if this years devices don't appeal
