Welll, having used my O2 Orbit to take some pictures outside recently (for the first time) I can only say I am disappointed with the results. Every photo appears to be blurred and out of focus around the outer edge of the photo. Is this the best I can expect of the built in camera? Or am I driving it wrongly? As far as I know, the settings are default and I am set for the best resolution. Is this how they are, or do I have a faulty one?
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
Tony
Im suprised that no-one has commented on this. Does it mean my camera is faulty, or has no-one tested their camera?

reply to camera problem
Artemis has a 2Megapixel non-autofocus camera it does good taking photos outside. Picture is quite good but dont expect photo like a autofocus camera. Artemis camera as good as other non autofocus camera's out there (including iphone camera is same type camera with no autofocus camera).

lol, that sums it up quite well
My thoughts exactly. How can anyone make a device as good as this without giving it an excellent camera? Now it seems iPhone are about to do the same silly trick!
Tony, I use Artemis T-Mobile version. With the original rom, I really liked the quality of the camera. However, after moving to the Artemis ROM 3.0, I have exactly the same problems with the autofocus and the blurry image quality.
The camera can definitely do better.
Unfortunately, I have not found anything helpful so far.

there is no auto focus... there is no focus at all lol
Might be. But it does not change the quality at all. With the original ROM the picture quality was absolutely ok for a mobile. With the updated ROM, it is not even worth to press the camera button anymore...
I'm just surprised that there seems to be nobody else complaining in the thread of meschle.

i havent tried his ROM, i'm still on the original T-Mobile WM5 ROM... so i cant comment. I wouldnt have thought it would change the quality. Can you find out what resolution the photos are from Meschle's ROM?
the camera is just the same with the original or Meschle's Rom 3.0
i don't see any difference

I agree that this camera is crap.
With my wm5 I had good pictures outside, I hadn't tried since.
I am now running on tom's 4.3, before I had official wm6 rom and the both are the same. Blurry, out of focus and has a type of wellow orange filter...
Myself don't ever bother to presse the camera button anymore....
Orbit XDA from O2
Hi guys
I use this phone to take photos and to me the picture comes out perfect. I was taking photos last Sunday on a grey rainy afternoon. I think the pics came out really well.

pretty much the same quality as the pics i can take on mine.
The quality of your photos look like the ones I had before the ROM update. As a comparison see one of my current photos. And yes, the lense is ok
well, I thought, but I ain't sure, that my camera and in particularly my video mode , was better on my TMobile dutch WM5.... which had a camerasensor in the extended rom... Not sure if that bettered the process...
as i was saying that i'm not sure if it was worse in the beginning..cause of daylight nd night nd was't paying much atention cause I thaght is was 2 MB...
but then i XDA developers nd start Xploring... found this forum...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302293&highlight=camera
about the sensor-thing ,.. that way i found out about the sensor cab that is installed in the Tmobile Dutch...
and i found this forum, about framerate,...

It should improve Ur Videocapture,....Now ..I think that it improved my thing,...But I Ain't sure,... (By the way,..I think (what i also read somewhere on xda forums..) .. that lenses dies slowly (say it how u like),..
owyeah 4got 2 mention,... I've tweaked it little by little,..and at first you don't see anydifference,... but i think after several min it differs.....
I'm having the exact same issue as in this video.

Is this just a design flaw with the One X or do i need to get a replacement?
PS. I couldn't work out how to embed the video.
Thanks

I don't have this issue (Taiwan build Grey edition), I honestly doubt it's supposed to make that kind of noise. I would return it!
I dont have my 32gb yet but I'm curious to see how the Sprint S3 camera quality is. I'm sure its exactly like the international version and hoping nothing has changed quality wise.
They're the same hardware, different CPU/radios. That's all.

I understand but with the high demand of the phone its possible they may have run out of parts and have outsourced some components like the camera module which could effect picture quality.

Hello to everyone.
I'm starting this thred as i'm very concern, after comparing pictures made with hox to any other sources.
Picture seam to be over exposed and behind a cloud of mist. It can be observed with video or photo capture...
Does anyone have the same issue?
Is it not the driver fault?
I had similar issue when on htc hd2 installed windows mobile 7...
Please put your comments.

Hello there,
I've had my HOV for a few month now and I've only just got around to using Skype on it. My previous device had a front camera but wasn't supported to video call (at all) by Skype but my HOV can even with only a rear camera! I was wondering if anyone has any in-genius solutions to a front camera as pointing the device at a mirror isn't very practical!
Thanks,
Curtis.
Move the back camera to your face while talking on Skype and extremely quickly( your friend should not notice) move it back to see the screen. If done perfectly, your friend wont even notice, and you will get the feel of using a front cam

Anyway they made a little thing for I phone 3gs,just Google I phone 3 gs frontal camera and you will find it. It's like a little box with mirrors inside that you put on the camera and it becomes like a frontal camera
