I would like to know whether the parts of my i-mate pda2k are the same with O2 XDAIII parts.. I want to replace the casing of my imate pda2k as well as the keyboard.. I am just planning to buy defective O2 XDA III to replace some parts on my imatepda2k.
Do all the screws, fittings, external and internal parts of imate pda2k same with O2 XDA III?
and the O2 XDAIII the same with O2 XDAIIs? they do look the same..

You should look in the wiki, you will see all the possible name variations for the BA. If I am not mistaken, the only thing that may change between models is having a camera (or not like the SX66). The only BA-type device that will have a difference is the Harrier (CDMA version of the BA) which has a few more important differences.
i believe there are actually more differences in the hardware specs, like two different displays or something and i do remember there was a table on the wiki and i know, whenever i look for it, i spend ages searching, i wanted to provide the link here, but actually, i cannot find it right now... again.

True, but if he is only looking at the casing, he should not be concerned with anything "under the hood". As long as the case is the same, he will satisfy his needs.
actually i am planning for to get the casing of a defective O2 xdaIIs, which similarly looks the same with the imate pda2k.. will i succeed with this one?

I have been looking at PDA/Phones and decided on the XDAIIs. I had previously seen it on the O2 web site but when I checked yesterday it has all the adds and specs but when you go to buy online it says" Sorry, this handset is no longer available; You may wish to make a selection from our current range, displayed below" Does anyone know if it has been discontied or if there is a new model in the pipline.
Well, you can still get it from other people! iMate, (expansys.com), etc.

Hi,

Any probs, let me know.
CHeers,
Bret
i work for o2 and they had to discon it due to system problems
if you want anything get the i or the exec both well better than the s
Thats interesting to know. We are an O2 dealer so shouldn't someone have told us before we bought 12 of them?
How long ago was it discontinued???
Not amused about that at all.

Can you name the exact problems?

Bluetooth is one! Terrible BT hardware. Half a meter away and the cracks make the headset unusable. 22003SE and BT patches / WM5 just equally crappy
Just waiting for the Atom/Athena
In the meantime, my 2020 with 2003SE / automated Sin Merge is the best combo I tried. Thinking about moving to WM5 but the issues I had on my BA with ActiveSync/Outlook/Exchange server are making me think twice...
BTW, any news on FCS for Athena?
Hal
It's about effing time!! The Blueangel was not ready for sale. Not everyone knows how to hack a ROM and most business users need it to work out of the box which it defo didn't.
I know the problem: 02 didn't release the 1.40 ROM.
AND as I mentioned in another thread I have just broken my handsfree socket by mistake. I could fix it but I don't wanna take it apart and ruin the warranty.
I also don't wanna pay to have it fixed as I don't have ANY money. The down key is getting dodgy as well. I think I will go for a new one on insurance. Do you think they will gimme an Exec no that the 2s has been discontinued?
I only got the 2s as an insurance job for the XDA2 about 5 months ago. Do you think that they will be funny about it in the shop or will they not bother?
the s.... is crap
Hi all...
I need help... I had an O2 Xda II & now i am planning to buy an O2 Xda IIs.
Could some users of IIs please give me some reviews on it.
Also, i hear that O2 is coming out with "XDA Exec" which is HTC Universal...
is it worth going in for IIs right now or should i wait for Exec?
Any idea on the launch price of Exec?
Look how the exec is used, search it on google, its like a mini laptop, if you like that style than thats a good phone for you. Personally I would say wait for exec because I like it more then IIs. IIs keyboard is loose, everyone in the world is missing the screw on the right side of there phone (comes out on all models and people lose it). I like my XDA IIs, but I perfer to get XDA EXEC or my XDA II back ;-).

HK$9000?! On ebay.co.uk you can get one for about $6200 on average, although there are different versions (I personally think the i-mate version is the best as it doesn't have the annoying operator software like O2 Active or something like that).

Wait for the exec... or wait for the exec II (if there will be one) as I am waiting for a Windows Mobile phone which has a built-in FM radio. That would be my dream phone!
Currently the exec (or equivalent like JasJar or MDA Pro) is about £450 on ebay.co.uk

So you need to wait for O2 Atom that coming soon see here
http://www.expansys.com.hk/product.asp?code=126950
O2 Atom --- My deam phone
Major difference between the two models:
OS (XDA IIs runs WM2003 SE by default; EXEC has WM5.0)
Camera = 1.3 vs 640x480
Just my two cents.
Hi,
I would like some advice on whether I should buy the i-Mate PDA 2k or the O2 XDA IIs? I've heard the the i-Mate site allows downloads from it, but I like the black of the IIs.
Any feedback appreciated.
Darren............
then why dont you buy xda IIs and then learn to update roms. you can flash to any rom.. o2,imate,qtek etc.
The devices are identical except in appearance, package contents, price and possibly after-sale support.
I cant comment on support, but I think the O2 one is nicest looking. My XDA IIs came with two styli, one battery, a really crappy leather case thing, and a couple of CDs. One seems standard Pocket PC fare (includes activesync, outlook 2002) but the other has a few mildly useful-sounding programs. I say sounding, since I cant work out how to install them from the disk. The disk has only one item which starts an add/remove prgrams style dialog (for programs already installed), not an actual 'Which of these included programs would you like to install' thing.
I think the Orange M2000 may come with a spare battery... but check that one.
hi mates, can u tell me, if i can get the entire outer panel/cover of my O2 XDA Exec (Universal) replaced. Is there, any such accessory available in market ? Even though, O2 has stopped sellin' Exec.
Cheers..
All right, i got it on ebay, at last. I actually never tried the word HOUSING in google, it's easily available out there.
All,
I am moving on to the MDA Compact IV. So am selling my O2 XDA Orbit. It’s just over a year old and in good condition (one scratch across the top silver section). I can send pictures if needed.
The phone is in its original condition, it’s never been modified in anyway, never had a ROM upgrade so is still running the original WM5.
Anyway if someone is interested make me an offer via PM, if not it’s off to eBay or CEX. I just thought I’d give the people on this forum a chance first...
