So I have a .nb0 file I need to load on my hermes device and the instructions I have say to use the lnbms command to do it. Sadly I have HardSPL installed and lnbms does not seem to be recognized as a command. Does anyone know how to load a .nb0 file if I have HardSPL installed?
Thanks,
LouisK
Um ya that makes not that much sence. Do you have a ROM.nbh or Radio.nbh? since you need to have a file type that is compatable with the hermes and I dont think the one your talking about is.

Last time I checked, .nb0 files don't go on Hermes devices.
I am in the same boat. I have an os.nb0 that was extracted from a hermes. I want to get it onto my device.... lnbms is the command but it's locked in the bootloader. Anyone know how to get around this?
so, just checking, you've extracted the nb0 file out of a hermes rom and are trying to put it into a loaded os????
Sounds to me like you need to be cooking your own os if you want to do that...
And then reflash time....
I figured it out. The reason that you can not flash a .nb0 with MTTY is the bootloader is locked. Even though the phone may be CID or Super-CID or SSPL or whatever... you MUST have a bootloader that is unlocked and will allow the lnbms command to pass. I have not seen any information yet on this and the hermes. I was able to do this on my htc Wizard though Know that doesn't help but it does atleast tell you why you can't do this action
Im looking for the boot animation for OS 1.0. Can anyone help me out?
I'm Br1ck'd's guy who was looking for the boot animation for you over the weekend. The problem I'm running into is that every ROM I can find is in the *.nbh format, so there is no way I can actually go in and grab the information. However, I haven't given up, and if I do find a way I'll let you all know.

Awesome man. Thanks alot.

OK, so you're hosed with your request. Apparently, the boot animation is locked until at least Cupcake. So I can get you the Cupcake boot animation no sweat. But when I flashed my G1 back down to stock 1.0 there is no way to run Super User on it. You have root access, however when running something like Terminal Emulator and type "SU" you'll still get permission denied errors even though you have root access. Lame, I know.
So for giggles, I adb pulled every file from the root of the phone. No dice. There is no animations, period. Even searching every friggin' *.png file, there is nothing there for the boot animation. I can flash a new boot animation to the phone, but all that does is mask the original one, which is hidden somewhere in the *.nbh file. However, either I am not smart enough, or there is no way to do it as of yet, but I cannot get into the *.nbh file, period.
So I figured "OK, I'll try an emulator". That also failed, as the earliest emulator I can find is the emulator for Cupcake. So I then tried to use the emulator to flash a different ROM, which failed because as it reboots it goes back to stock Cupcake. Which is lame (they should really have a save state or something).
The next step I tried was downloading an older version of the Android SDK. Again, nothing available to me until Cupcake. I could have possibly loaded it in Eclipse, but I don't have Eclipse and don't prefer to have Eclipse, and I doubt that it would have made a difference since searching every folder in the SDK packs turned up nothing. I even loaded the SDK packs on my Mac, just in case there was a different set of files. Nothing.
Since I'm still on 1.0 I did try to do an ADB Shell, but any command gives me permissions issues. It's probably because of the root issue with the stock image. I don't really know, I just know I can't do it.
So my final attempt was that I downloaded a *.nbh explorer for the Windows 7 phones, but it doesn't work because of the signing issues.
Ultimately, you're not going to be getting the boot animation from me. I've tried and failed Sorry man. Good luck though!
You mean the "Glowing Android" bootanimation?
I was looking for it a few weeks ago, and made my own with the resources in the 1.0 build.
It's 800x480, you might have to resize it to 320x480.

I'm following the instructions from the NWolf process (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831569) to unlock my Captivate and the unlock1.bat batch file worked (I added a pause so I could review the results before the DOS window closed) for the automated process.
But I can't find where it backed up the nv_data.bin file so I can browse to it in the "Samsung Galaxy S Unlocker & Repair" tool in order to complete the process and move on to unlock2.bat.
I've tried searching my c:/, the phone and SD card but cannot locate it anywhere.
Yes, it's been rooted and it came with the ClockWorkMod and SpeedMod ULK loaded into it.
No, I don't have root explorer (can't find it) on the phone, and I can't download it from the market because I don't have internet access on the phone (until I unlock it properly).
I bought this AT&T phone and trying to use it in Canada on Rogers.
I'm not normally such an obvious noob but I'm really stumped on this.
Please ignore my original question.
It appears that the software installed in Program files and the bin file transferred to the same directory but under the username in the file tree. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen, sort of like a parallel universe.
NWolf's tool worked flawlessly even though the phone posed issues to the process. The tool recovered from them and I'm finally unlocked.
Donation enroute!!!
Ok people, I finally dumped emulator image. It has many interesting stuff inside

REMEMBER THIS IS x86 VERSION OF WP7.1 IT WON'T WORK ON ANY EXISTING WP DEVICE! YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PORT IT ON ANY DEVICE OR GET WORKING ANY EXE/DLL FROM THIS ROM!
Have Fun Guys
Thanks, man! Let's see it in action
Thanks for sharing! I have a question for you, though: I've tried modifying the image with Xipport and BOOOFF to get it unlocked in the emulator, but I won't run the image after any modification/repackaging.
On the previous images, I could just dump/rebuild the image without issues, but on Mango, even a rebuild with no modifications causes the emulator to freeze after the "Windows Phone" splash screen with the accent color progress bar.
Any thoughts? Is Microsoft using some sort of a checksum or something?
I haven't looked at unlocking image yet...so I can't say anything about that...tools that you are using is quite old...maybe they do something incorrect...need some time to figure out what goes wrong...
Tell me how you get image unlocked and I will look later into this problem...

Haven't heard anything but I would assume so. From what I can tell, while recompiled images are indeed valid, some sort of security mechanism is preventing the compositor (start screen) from loading correctly. That, or it's a really convenient glitch
Then, why don't you just crack the emulator executable? Shouldn't be much more than a conditional jump
i hate to ask this ( quiet embarrassed)
i have downloaded the files, but how do i run this in the wp7 emulator?
When this downloaded is extracted, it produces a number of folders but not a bin file, so not sure how to use it with the SDK emulator ?

Hi
I seem to be having a problem rooting my Xperia Arc.
I'm trying to run : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350&page=12
And first I got the error message : Adb out of date, but re-tried.
The second time I did it, I didn't get that message but now it just says waiting for device...
Nothing else happens - I have followed all the instructions and can't see anything wrong.
Any help appreciated...
Go to task manager on the PC and end any instance of adb, then try again.
If the above doesn't work just copy the
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
From your adb folder and try again
Hi, thanks for the replies.
I tried killing the process but made no difference.
I went through and had another read around and followed the adb guide to make sure I had everything, downloaded things and tried again.
I now get a message adb is out of date, killing.
But then says Daemon started successfully, then does nothing.
I don't seem to have those files any you mentioned anywhere??
If you was following that thread you must have those files, also you must have adb SDK installed you are getting that error because the adb files in the link is different versions to what you have installed so just move the files named
I did it the other way and created files folder in program files\android\sdk with the files from the root package and put batch file in the main directory.

Absolutely no idea then, It said it downloaded stuff, but no idea where it is. I have file searched but brings up nothing.
I do have the SDK yes, but there is no folder in there called usb or anything.
I'll try re-doing it all again from scratch, see if it makes any difference..

That's what I've been following.
Knightlore,
I seemed to have had the same problems as you. Much as I thought I was following instructions, I just couldn't get it to work.
One of the threads I was reading had a link to a flashtool thread(I can't easily link to it at the moment as not on computer). Anyway, it said that the Zergrush exploit was now in Flashtool, so I followed those instructions and it was really easy to root phone.
HTH.
I think it is this thread I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Still encountering the same problem, I have re-done everything from scratch and I still get the same error. Anyone else got any ideas please?
I've managed to root all my other phones, but for some reason this just won't work...
