I just receive my touch pro 2 today and was surprised to see it now ships with a version of sense 2.5.
My phone has Manila version 2.5.20121225.0
And ROM version 2.07.401.1 (80303)
I've not seen this before and haven't seen upgrades available to this version so was a little surprised. I didn't think 2.5 ran very well on devices below the snapdragon processor and especially didn't think these devices would ever ship with it!
Seems to work quite well though, pretty fast for a factory ROM.

What carrier model was it, or is it unbranded? And what channel did you buy it through?
Nice...
I'd like to know the same questions. Who did you get the phone from? what carrier?
the phone came as an unlocked HTC device from a supplier we use at work.
they were actually out of stock for 2 weeks so this is fresh stock from HTC, wonder if there will be an upgrade. would also be interested to see the chefs start from a 2.5 rom thats already designed for a lower spec device!

Nice!! You get a Rhodium for work??
Can we assume that it's a WWE (world-wide english) ROM? I agree that there's going to be a lot of people here who will want to get to tinker with that...do you think you're adept enough to be able to follow instructions on how to extract a copy of your ROM for devs to play with?
Hasn't Official Rhodium 2.5 ROMs been out since late feb?

I just didn't realize those were from a Rhodiumm, and I didn't notice there was a WWE one there already...
I'd still be interested in seeing build number etc, to see if this one matches what's already been seen.

Here's something interesting that just happened to me today.
Brief story:
Last week I purchased a TyTn from a user here and when I got it, it had the screen alignment issue. Rather than fiddling with it, I just sold it as such.
So, I got a fairly good deal on a new 8525 from directly from AT&T. I just got it, powered it on and saw... WM6! Let me repeat, this was a direct purchase from AT&T. The version of WM6 on it is the same build found here, 17944.0.3.1. The radio on it is 1.48.00.00.
So, although the software on it is nothing new, I thought it would be something interesting to note that AT&T is shipping WM6 with their 8525s now... I guess.
I wonder when they're going to be posting the rom on the HTC website itself.
Very Interesting, call them and ask for support just to **** with them since I know ATT wont know what to do!
Now if they would just start shipping the kaisers we would be all set and has the two most powerfull phones on the market today!!
that is pretty interesting though since I think the AT-T rom out of the box had many bugs and issues. I know I spent a few hours getting the kinks out when I cooked up my custom AT-T rom. thanks for sharing though... as I say in my SA group

Hehe. Would they even know WM6 is?
so have you flashed their bloat-ware ROM off of it yet?
haha
Well TB this is interesting, no? Is one thing to purchase a used Hermes on Ebay that has jj or faria's stamp on it but this is official....
And @austinsync regarding the official ROM, the biggest complaint with me and mine is the radio... that dawg just don't hunt here in So FLA. Taking everyone back to the 1.40. The basic ROM, bypassing the ext ROM, wasn't bad... vg3g did a bad ass job on cleaning it up, major kudos. Am finding the majority of my peoples' complaints due to the 1.48 radio.
Thanks TB for that update!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised. And I've only made a couple calls on it so far, but I have to say it's not bad. The call quality with 1.48 seems good.
@GldRush98, I'm definitely going to "upgrade" this thing today. But, I'm pretty impressed by the speed and stability of the ROM so far. I'll probably do a ROM dump before I flash something else on it. Just in case someone wants it... for whatever reason.
I would like to see if the same exact one as the rom that's on this forum so let me know when you dump it please.

LMFAO!! I would pay to hear the phone conversation.
I just got mine last week but it had WM5.... of course it doesn't now!!!!!
I'm getting a brand-new AT&T 8525 (probably tomorrow) to replace my current Cingular 8525 with loose stylus (long story but the refurb they sent was crap so I complained nicely...)
I'll be interested to see what OS comes on it now but I am thinking of selling it new-in-box to help pay for the Kaiser...
I bought an AT&T branded 8525 on 7-23-07. It came with WM5. And, the AT&T store where i bought had just received it that morning.

I suppose mine could have been some kind of anomaly, but a welcome one. It was still shipped in the newer AT&T box that listed the OS on the front as WM5 with the "Coming in 2007, Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade" bullet at the bottom.
But I suppose all this doesn't matter a whole lot for me. I've already loaded up my own custom ROM and didn't really take advantage of this good fortune.

Just checked it out, and it's identical to the one you posted. Same build, build date, etc. All the programs match up too. Nothing more or less in either, it appears.
Nice.
Wondering if anyone could port f.x this theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520629) to the Magic?
It would be awesome, or atleast any Hero themes.
Just curious, if you have a Magic why not root and put the real thing on? I really like the Hero ROM on my Magic.

Because those ROMs are slow as hell
Oh sorry, you must have the 192mb Magic. Mine is a 288mb Magic works as good if not better than stock.

This gets so confusing because of the release of the phone on other platforms before it's available elsewhere. My T-Mobile branded Sapphire is in the mail today and I am extremely anxious to get a Hero ROM on it.
I am not sure what that entails (rooting or whatever), but I would like to know. Has anyone in here gotten a MyTouch3G and have a Hero ROM on it?

how can i know which magic has 192mb and which 288 mb of ram?
I'm sorry if you have found a solution and me posting this is beating a dead horse, but as it wasn't listed in the thread anywhere, I provide options:
@WebghostDK, try Qteknology. I have 1.6, with Swapper set to 92mb size and 60 swappiness. Runs like a charm, not slow at all.
@Reej, check here: http://www.ryebrye.com/blog/2009/08/16/android-rooting-in-1-click-in-progress/ I did this on my phone, and am now running the aforementioned Qteknology rom. remember to get Swapper from the market and set the settings right, otherwise you'll be reloading the home screen constantly, and you'll probably want to flash back to stock.

first job is to see what version you have..So.. before turning on press and hold back then press power (red phone) at the top it will give you some info, it will say either 32a or 32b this is the main part you need. Then go to HBOOT to determine your spl..follow instructions there (remembering to download bits for your board 32a or 32b)
After this you need to go HERE
After that is done you need to choose your rom HERE
If you have a 32a you a lucky s o a b and i would recommend a hero rom,32b im actually using nk02's google ion rom as it will still let me get updates and has root

Hey with the latest releases of the Verizon & Leaked T-mobile Roms for the Touch Pro 2. Do you think that AT&T will ever release an update for the Tilt 2? Will it be Soon, Later or Never for this device?
HTC almost always releases at least one update per phone per carrier. It's anyone's guess when it might happen and what it will address tho.
Well the Verizon TP2 and TMobile phones were still only (officially) running WM 6.1 so the update just gets them even with the Tilt 2

There is no rom. It is only a patch for the original AT&T Rom. My original question was will AT&T release another official ROM update. I know since they were first off the block with 6.5 and the with all the announcements at CES and the iPhone Problems (3g connection) the TIlt 2 will get no attention! So its left up to the cooks out there to keep us happy.
i seen this in google news... looks like verizon is going to push their own software update. doesnt look like anything serious...just wondering if there is something in this that is worthwhile. im not feeling the vcast stuff but that can always be removed.

Thanks for your opinion. I didnt mean to post this as a question for say. Just wanted to hear from some of the rom experts if there was anything in this update that is worth updating for. I think that qualifies as for "android development". Its not like i asked "hey when is this coming out?" Or "do i have to reroot if i update to this?, can i even update to this?"...
This is a great community and i usually get great opinions and answers...

I have been building ROM's with the leaked version and so far it is pretty solid and seems to fix atleast the charging speed and the 3G problem.
...
and the radio still isn't moving to 9.01; that 'leaked radio' must be whacked.
I think its worth it, but I do not update till someone makes an official rooted version in a flashable.zip, that way we don't lose root and we are up to date.
rmk40 released a leaked version but I don't think it was the final form of the OTA.

Thanks ID, this was the kind of opinion i was looking for. i unrooted today, pain in the behind to do it too, because i just flashed rom after rom and was never satisfied. Their aren't any problems with the roms, i know a lot of hard work went into them an all... just need to learn how to build so i can just have exactly what i want instead of nagging hard working, not to mention under appreciated devs, for every little detail.
Im never in dire need to be rooted, just like everything to work at all times. Thanks for your opinion and cool roms.

Hi, I dare to ask this question since the threads I can find on this dates back to 2013
So I like to try android on my HTC Touch Pro 2 Rhodium 100 phone with English WM 6.5 (Hard SPL'ed unlocked), but what I rather would like is that the phone ran only android. And a newer version than the ones presented in the 2013 threads, it seems the last one there would be 2.3.7.
Is that possible and do you have some suggestions?
With kind regards

Possible yes, done nope.
What I meant by that is that the latest fully (as much as it can be) working android version for this device is 2.3.7 and the most stable ROM being CM7.
Hardware wise the phone should probably be quite able to run android 4.0 and there is a ROM built but most things are not working so you would need to either learn how to build an android ROM/kernel and fix missing things (which would be a lot of hard work) or find a developer that is willing to do it for you, which would probably be impossible so I'd say just run CM7 or you could sell your device and buy some other ultra cheap device that has a newer android version.

Also dude this phone is really old it obviously would be impossible to run any version of android newer than 4.0 on such low specs and no one made a version of 4.0 that has enough working to be usable as a phone or under any other usage case.
