Hi There.
Did a search on this but didn´t find any with an identical proplem so here goes:
Once in a blue moon the phone part of my TP2 shuts down. In this event everything else but voice calls & sms works fine.
When it happens, and it did twice now, i´we tried soft reset, without success.
Only thing that seems to work is a hard reset meaning a couple of hours reinstalling everything.
Can anyone please tell me, if there is another way to restart the phone software, e.g. running an exe file from the windows directory.
Regards
ELO
try putting the phone is airplane mode and then going back to normal operation.
when the phone is working properly use a back up program like Sprite or SPB and make a back up.
Then if you have to hard reset you just load back up your restore and you are good to go. Just as a note though: It does not write over stuff that is not in the backup ie: if you removed an app or many and then backed it up it will be there when you restore. You will still have to remove those apps. However all your settings etc will still be there.
This does not solve your phone issue but it may save you a few hours that you can invest in finding a proper solution.

Hi
In the last week or so my SD card has suddenly started disappearing until I soft reset the device. If I remove and reinsert a different card this also does not appear. The only way I have found to resolve the problem is to do a soft reset. It will then be visible for a day until it disappears again.
I haven't been able to narrow it down to a specific application or action.
Has anybody else seen this (or even better know what the problem may be?)
I have had the same problem i found it to be "Spb ToPlay" everytime i used it if i stopped it playing i lost all sound on my XdaIIs and the SD card went missing. removed the plug-in and havent had the problem since...........................do you have this plug-in? if you dont then i have no idea sorry i couldnt help.
I have recently installed spb time but it doesn't conincide with my problems starting. I may try disabling it to see if that makes a difference.
this has happened to me before, but i didnt have anything like you mentioned installed, so it must be a bug or something!!!
I found on my M1000 that the card will not be visible when the battery gets low, most times it gives a message like "the power is too low to support the device"
Happens to me with my O2 XDA IIs. When I contacted O2 about it, guess what their reply was?
Reply number 1:
"Thank you for choosing O2!
With regards to your query below, you may like to remove your storage card and monitor the device. Please note that O2 Asia has tested with different brands of 256MB SD card and works fine. However, storage card of larger size may not work properly and cause the device to hang. You may also like to test your unit with another storage card to verify. Hope the above information is useful for you. Thank you."

"With regards to your query below, you may like to perform a hard reset and
without restoring back any data back to the phone, try to change the
landscape again and see if the problem still persist.
**To perform a full reset:
Warning: Clearing memory deletes all data and restores the Pocket PC Phone
to its default settings. Programs installed at the factory remain, while
data you have created and programs you have installed are erased.
Before performing the full reset, use ActiveSync to keep a backup of your
Pocket PC Phone data so that if you need to clear memory, you can restore
the data on your Pocket PC Phone.Do not use Xbackup on your device to do
backup for your data.
To perform a full reset on XdaIIs, press and hold the power button, and then
use stylus to press the soft reset button at the same time. After the full
reset, you will be prompt to recalibrate the touch screen.
Hope the information is useful to you. If you have any further enquiries,
please feel free to contact us."
What a load of crap!
I did a Back-up on the SD. Then I did a Hard reset, to check that every thing is gone and returnet to original. Then a Restore from SD, and every thing returned to my modifications. This is a Windows Mobile Qtek 2020/TSM500. Well, sorry about all this, but is necessary to explain what I am trying, and is that; to know, if some one knows, how to do a script to call the RESTORE program (and that he calls the file on the SD), the use is to auto recover every thing in one old PDA when the battery goes off completally.
I use it, in my car (and since I use it eventually, the battery goes exausthed, and that loose all the loaded programs).
I look to do automatically what I am doind maually, by puting the script on the Extended rom.
Any Ideas... 8)
I've described this before under different topics, but some cabs and exe files that I install make my whole phone like 50% slower. And you cannot restore the speed by uninstalling the programs - you have to do a hard reset. I finally wised up and bought a backup software so I don't have to reinstall, reset, and rerecord voice tags all over again. I go ahead and do a backup with Sprite and I've found that I cannot live without this program now. It's REALLY good. I know some people don't believe in backup programs like Sprite and SPB, but I will never be without this program.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem besides me. I usually get into trouble because every new cab file I see, I try to download and run. So far these are the programs that I've identified that cause this:
HTC Home cab (old one)
HTC Album
Voice Commander
Touch Keyboard
There may be a few more (or combinations of programs that cause this), but those are the ones I remember. Also, was wondering if anyone was able to restore the speed of the device without hard resetting.
BTW, I'm using Meschle's Premium Plus ROM.
yes i did but i soft reset and all was ok for me
I have rebooted my Kaiser this morning and it took a while, and than came a message that it cant boot...
The Software i installed before the last reboot was s2p and before that i installed and deinstalled vito sms chat...
Is there a way to fix it without the need of hard reset or can i download files via the bootloader?
thanx SciLor
there may be, but if you're still waiting, it would be quicker to hard reset.
try to get used to it if you haven't already. It only takes me a few minutes now to setup after a hard reset, I keep as much as possible on a memory card, never sync with my PC, use mortscript to auto setup my programs and settings, and keep a copy of all folders on the memory card to copy accross.
I hard reseted it and used the last backup had (18March) ^^
i copy nearly everthing on my card but after the backuo WM5torage doesnt work.... even after reinstalling if i connect it it show the volume but when i click on it it says there is nothing
Currently I'm running on Cyanogen mod6, and I had a few questions regarding Android/Kaiser interaction. As it sits, Android works great, minus a key problem: Whenever I make a phone call, the battery seems to drop drastically, and I get the "low battery" notice approximately 3 minutes into each phone call, even after the phone has been charged for an extended period of time. I've left Android at bare basics, virtually no apps, and still the same problem. Now I've searched and searched, and haven't really found a topic that relates to this particular issue (maybe searching under wrong keywords...?)
Also, I was thinking of flashing back to winmo (sadly, due to this very problem), and yet, I am unable to do that. I've put the appropriate files on the sd, and it seems to bypass the Kaisimg, etc files. Could it be that my android files were installed on the phone's memory and not my memory card's root memory? Hopefully that makes sense.
But if anyone can help point me in the right direction, this would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like a failing battery. Can you flash it back to Windows Mobile to see if it behaves normally?
I'm very sorry you had that problem.
I've tried flashing it back. I'm still new to flashing ROMs, so please bare with me.
I've put the appropriate files on the root of the SD card, tried the power+camera+reset method, and got the error message of no image file. I even tried flashing everything to factory default, and still the same result...so unfortunately, I haven't been able to flash it back to WinMo either.

I prefer flashing via USB-chord, and found that fastest way to get WinMo back is to get some random ROM for Kaiser and boot phone with reset button while pressing camera (to get into bootloader) and then just normally flash using windows programs. Just be in bootloader when you launch KaiserRUU.
This also applies, if you do changes into kernel with hex editor (like modify keyboard settings and such). Fastest way to flash in my opinion.
And since phone is connected into computer whole flash process, it cannot shutdown afaik, but cannot guarantee it since I don't have dead battery.
it looks like it might be the battery. Flashed WinMo back on successfully, and still the same problem. Dammit.
