ROM List - Hero, G2 Touch Android Development

Could we PLEASEEEEEE get a sticky or something with a current list of ROMs available for each device? And whenever someone releases another ROM then they can have it added to the list or something. If it was in the form of a thread then there will be double mentions and that will defy the point. Is there a way that we could have like a non-editable (other than by mods) list of ROMs?
I browse so many different forums and each day there are more and more ROMs coming out but then everything just seems to be so messy when you have to look through so many pages. Different websites have their own incomplete lists, and it's just very confusing, especially if you go away for a week or so and haven't been keeping up and constantly updating yourself... because things change so fast here that after 7 days someone's usually made 10 new discoveries and then there's been 3 new ROMs!
Regards

check out the sticky wiki pages. in there is a link to wiki with all the current roms out.

This is a forum for one device, the Hero, if you want a list of the latest ROM's look down the thread list, most of the cooks date stamp all their releases (or announcements). I'd think looking for [14-03-2010] in the list is a good place to start

Oh okay thank you... I didn't know about the Wiki that's pretty much exactly what I was after.. thanks again!

A question:how can you get the great things for Hermes?

I just want to know that how can the "madmen" get the HTC drivers?apps and make them suitable for hermes to use,it seams that the HTC did'nt release them.if you get them from other roms, then how do they get? Thanks.
Being that this is your first post, I'm going to tell you before someone else who isn't so nice will. You have to read the threads, and the wiki. Also, when you do a search, use google.
The sites search feature doesn't work to well, because of all the redundant posts. Also, check out the Hermes upgrading forum, they have a lot of great information there. Good Luck.
What kind of apps are you looking for?
To search this forum, you should use the following format:
launch the google search page
type:
hermes xda (name or type of application) i.e for hermes xda pimbackup:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hermes+xda+pimbackup
this should find the post you can use to get information on a name or type of application that you might like.

Think I follow what you're asking......
The chefs have their own sources that they get copies of the ROM's from - obviously these ROMs are not generally released yet. "We" (i.e. the normal forum members) don't know - or care about - their sources, we just like the end result.
Hope this answers your question
Mark.
yay i love this place

Thanks for your answer! though we just want the final result,i want to know where do the chefs' roms come from. it is still puzzled me since jasjaming said he would release black3.5 with the latest HTC drivers.also other members here "delivered" the x-button.
^^^ Well, have you asked Jasjamming where he gets it?
I doubt he will tell you but you might as well ask the source.
hehehhheeh
Do you know this is kind of a trick question ! Ask Mr Bill from Micr.... if you can know how the code is done ...
But if you know how just start spread it !!!
ehheeeeh

just wondering why don't we have a single thread here with which the entire purpose is only to track the effort to port over android without having to include in all of the feedbacks and the like. it can help make it a lot more easier for everyone to keep an eye on these progress instead of having to sort through each of the very very long threads. for instance, as far as I can tell, one of the recent XDANDROID release just fixed the automatic screen orientation.
Hopes this can be set because it can make it easier for ppl to get started on using android on their TP2 instead of having to try to figure out which is the best option for their devices or preferences.

Unfortunately during the process of development it is not that easy to put everything in one place. You can visit these threads and websites for the most current information on what is working and where to get packages for android builds hope this helps.

If you are looking for the latest developments for the Rhod/TP2 then you were already in the correct place.

As Justin stated, if you are so inclined, there is a link to the glemson kernel/modules database. This is the newest/freshest kernels as they get pumped out nice and hot, however, using these does not always increase performance, and can sometimes even disable certain features/fixes. For instance, when they fixed the 3d drivers for the Diam/Raph it broke the hardware 3d for the Topaz/Rhod, and we had to wait a few days for a fix to be released.

Ok, well, sending people from the TP2 forum to the TP1 forum is not really helping the issue. If you are looking for the latest developments for the Rhod/TP2 then you were already in the correct place.

First of all, there is a little box on top called search. You where notified about that one when you signed up.
If you plan to publish your ROM/ROM's here, to cut it short do this;
There is a forum section called Chef Central. Read the sticky "Some Advice" in that forum. Then read the sticky on top of Desire Development. Then get begin modding the other ROM's available, so you get a hang of how they work. Then, cook away and test thoroughly.
Thank you for your help

[Q] ROMS Matrix ?

Hi Guys,
First thing, I would like to thank you all for the great work you are doing, so thank you !
Now, there is so many custom ROMs available that is a real challenge to select one.
I understand that there is 2 or 3 categories of ROMS : Sense, No-Sense, Stock, and on steroid ;-), but for the details it is quite challenging to choose one.
Would it be possible to a have a ROM matrix that would show the key features, goals, and orientation/direction/philosophy of each rom ?
thx again !
There are a few sites which list ROMs (which I, sadly, do not have the links to) but they are usually outdated and not maintained very well. Currently the best way to find the ROM that best suits you is to just take the plunge and try a few out.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...1VE9mYjVJNENnTHc&hl=fr&authkey=CJ3e6NQB#gid=3
This is what i found, but it is not really actual at the Moment.
Maybe some people want spend some time bringing it up to date.
Hi this (h t t p://db.androidspin.comandroidspin_release_matrix.asp?android_phone_ID=3&android_build_base_os=&android_developer_id=&go=go) is also a nice matrix but sometimes it isn't up to date ;-(
Maintaining these lists is difficult, they always go out of date pretty quickly.
There is an XDA wiki page for the HTC Desire which has a lot of the roms listed but it also is out of date. I reckon having it in a wiki is a nice idea as any of us can edit it and keep it updated.

That freakin thread is so confusing, I don't see how it's easier than mine...
[BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes - get it straight from the horses mouth!
That other thread covers a lot of other topics, which isn't bad... it's just kinda confusing IMHO!

Yes, but my thread is very to-the-point. Not saying your thread is useless, just not the first thing a newbie should see IMHO. Once they work thru my thread, yours would be a good one to look at... assuming they actually read my thread or yours at all.
This isn't a thread battle, and Arrrghhh,i've not suggested your thread because your thread isn't for newbies and covers less topics
But i'll add it to my post
Is it possible to install a full blown rooted Android rom on the Rhodium? Thanks

I wasn't particularly eager to install xdandroid (even though I was excited about the concept) until I read ryannathans' thread. Granted it isn't organized well, but it doesn't assume knowledge that isn't there, which makes it ideal for the type of noob that will read.

Both XDAndroid builds are rooted - do you mean replacing WinMo? It's possible, but not stable. Doesn't play nice at all with GSM devices, and it's not easy/simple on CDMA ones.

I don't see the point, everything I needed was in ryan's thread. They serve different purposes. You seem to mostly be focused on FRX06, getting people onto that entry level stable build. You mention kernels and the new rootfs in your thread, leaving someone like me to wonder WTF is a rootfs and kernel? Ryan fills in the blanks and focuses on getting people who don't know squat to FRX6.5, and gives us just enough info to understand the threads he links to. There's no reason for you to duplicate that.
