Hi everyone,
I have a quick question: on my TP2, with the official 6.5 ROM,t here seems to be an app which eats up a ot of resources, making the device unusable for a few (long) seconds. I noticed that in the photo viewer, youtube app, opera etc. the taskbar (start bar) keeps popping up over the running application, rendering the device unusable. Is there any way to see what app is responsible for this? It causes massive performance problems....
Thanks,
Nic
my guess it is something you have installed. What do you have installed
I don't think it is something I installed. I have facebook, core player, iGo, Advanced Config, HD tweak and spb traveler...
Later edit: I just started the camera and the task bar popped up on top again.... so I have this in camera mode as well

One rather show-stopping issue I've come across with my HTC is that the widgets/home screen tab apps/manila apps/HTC sense apps that get launched from the homescreen do not run as their own tasks. So you can't just switch to, for example, HTC's music player via a task manager. You have to go to the homescreen, and then make sure you're on the right tab. It's slow and clunky and effectively makes the homescreen apps inaccessible, if you like to use your phone for a bunch of other stuff other than what's on the homescreen (ie. you're not staying on the homescreen for everything you do).
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a quick way to switch between homescreen apps from outside of the homescreen?
Thanks,
Simmy
Has anyone else seen any of these bugs:
Lockscreen (slide): When unlocking to the camera (by sliding left), the camera app takes a long time (4-10 seconds) to open. In the meantime, the phone unlocks to the homescreen.
Update: Did a factory reset and the camera app is now noticeably faster - However if the app is closed in "recent apps", it still takes 2-3 seconds to launch. If the app is open, typically around 1 sec.
App drawer: On the second page of widgets (direct dial, direct message, directions & navigation, dropbox folder, email) "Launcher" crashes - This happens every time. Thought dropbox was the culprit, but even happens with the app (and widget) uninstalled.
Update: Turns out the KCRW Radio app was crashing the app drawer. Maybe their widget is not compatible - D*** hipster radio!
Add-on dictionaries: Not a bug per se, but very limited language choice. For instance Danish keyboard is available, but not the add-on dictionary. Hopefully Google and Samsung will correct this.
I'm on Yakjuxw / Samsung. The phone is from 3 Denmark. But I can update Google apps such as Maps without a problem.
Other than these minor issues, this is positively an amazing phone. Decent battery life too.
Hi,
Is there a place where I can find information on all running background processes?
I find a.lot of background apps like media,
People, messages, Bluetooth map, Flickr, music enhancer, rx networks page seed downloader etc.
I find that Flickr and Facebook are permanent recidents.
Where can I find information on what these apps are doing on background and their usefulness to my usage?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
you can actually disable apps in the settings / apps / all.
ive disabled twatter, farcebook and 7digital.
farcebook always stays live even though i deleted my account about 6 months back and have never logged in on the one x - why they bundle readly avalible apps is beyond me - i wish they wouldnt.
To see your open apps just hit the button next ot your home botton on the bottom and all the open apps will appear, to close them just flick them up.
@ametarasu
You can got to [SETTINGS] [APPS] tap the tab [RUNNING] to see running processes and services.
@audiobookman
twatter? farcebook?, lol what is that?
just kidding..
I assume the answer to this is no, but I wanted to check.
I really like the stock HTC browser - i am currently running AR HD 31.3. However, I hate it that it virtually closes background tabs instantly. This means if you create a new tab, or open a link in a new tab, when you back it has to reload the previous tab from scratch.
Is there any way to override this default behaviour? I have loads of free RAM so it's just proving to be annoying rather than efficient...
Thanks.
WhatsApp Web works on my HP ELITE X3 running latest w10m using Monument Browser.... syncs with WhatsApp running on another phone via Bluetooth (wife’s iPhone X in my case!)... mirrors content and most functionality.
Not tidy, best in landscape So, could run your own WhatsApp on a Android or iOS device and access it on w10m as long as the phones are Bluetooth linked.
Open w10m phone’s Monument browser.
Hit 3 dots to open Monument browser controls
Adjust ZOOM; @65% (may need to tinker depending on screen real estate of other phones).
Change SETTINGS:
NAVIGATION MODE; CHROME.
JAVASCRIPT; ENABLED.
Open new Monument browser tab.
Navigate to web.whatsapp.com and scannable barcode appears.
Tick KEEP ME SIGNED IN
Open Whatsapp on other phone.
Hit 3 dots to open Whatsapp controls.
Select WHATSAPP WEB.
Hit + PLUS button to open barcode scanner
Point barcode scanner at the WhatsApp barcode.
Barcode should be accepted and a progress bar appears. GIVE IT TIME!
Whatsapp messages will appear on Monument browser if all has gone well, and you can send and receive, but notifications not working.
**PIN working Monument Whatsapp web window to Home screen for easy access**
If progress bar seems to have stalled check Whatsapp – Whatsapp web on the phone to confirm connection has been made. If it has, PIN browser window to home screen as above. Close all tabs. Restart phone. Click pinned window and hopefully that will work after page load delay - which seems inescapable.
PS clicking enable desktop notifications doesn’t seem to do anything (perhaps unsurprisingly).
Hope this helps someone ?

Click to collapse
I did the same steps that you described, but I still have a problem apart from notifications: I can't view images, they remain with a circular spinning without possibility to download, I only view the low level preview of the image...did I miss something in the configuration ? Thanks
If still the same after restart of both devices (try that!) maybe it's a quirk of your particular phone? Fine for me.
Having said that, I've found having to carry two devices just to use Whatsapp is a burden [duh!] and I've installed Unigram (which is a Telegram client) and turns out to be better than Whatsapp. As a bonus, half my contacts were on it already and those I wanted to stay in touch with a la Whatsapp happily installed it. Available on w10m (but will not be updated further) and desktop

Hi guys, I found out that in several apps that do not have support they have the possibility to work, you just have to install an old version app, I work with the instagram app, but the only bad thing is that it does not let me send messages but yes I can receive notifications, I am trying to find the old apps like instagram and trying to revive them, PD: the facebook messenger app does not work, but the facebook app I am trying to install old versions to see if it works, the bad thing is that it is very difficult to find the xap
