maybe it needs certs to be installed.
And how can i do that?
Got the same problem and i have certs installed.
I'm having the same problem creating a CAB for my WM6.1 ROM.
The main reason why I want this v2.6.x version to work is that it starts YouTube movies right after you hit a link inside Opera. The 2.5 version CAB does work on my TouchPro2 but does not open the YouTube link. Instead it opens the program and I have to search for a video to view it.
What did I find out so far?
The following file causes the install problem: ProtocolHandler.dll
After you remove this file from the CAB it installs just fine. But the program still doesn't run on my device.
I manually imported all retificates and when I try to start YouTube it shows: " 'YouTube' is not a valid Pocket PC application."
I copied the files myself to the phone memory and imported the registry entries but when i tried to open the *.exe i got the same message.
Where did you find the version 2.5 cab?
I created it myself as it is part of the User Customization of my Cosmik Debris ROM.
Could you upload it?
Here you go....
How can i sign the YouTube.exe with another certificate or none for that matter? Or how can i import HTC certificate?
On 2.6 I used the .CER files from a Kitchen I use. I justed put them on my device and opened them using TotalCommander.
For 2.5 this probably is not nescacary for me since the files are from the Kitchen I use for my ROM. I do have to say that I only use optimized CAB's that work with my Cosmik Derbis ROM. Reason is that my ROM is compressed and stript from a lot of stuff I never use. Therefore I can not guarantee that the CAB wil work on other WVGA devices.
Is this a right place for youtube application, XPERIA X1 ROM Development !!??
No it's not...
How can I open a special YouTube video (with url) with the original HTC YouTube Player 2.6? What is the url parameter? How can I add the "?v=xxx" parameter to the player?
I used a program called Unsigner (and batchUnsign) to remove the certificates from all files but i still get the message:
''The file 'YouTube' cannot be opened.
Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate,
or one of its components cannot be found.
If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.''
So i believe that something is missing from my ROM.
Are any other files needed?

Guys,
I searched but didn't see anything about WMP 10 ROM CAB being posted. I searched all combos I could think of so sorry if this is a repost.
HP released a ROM update for an HP rx3000 ipaq

This file is a ROM update for the device. I downloaded the .exe and unzipped it, it had the .nbf update file but I'm not sure how to pull the individual cab files out of it, does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
If some one can get the password for the rom, I can try to extract the cab.
I would try the same ones used for the MDAIII rom. itsme was the one that came up with the passwords.
Well paul, I'm not going to go fishing for them. So if you want to post them or pm me with them great otherwise.
HP ROM is not locked!
Guys,
I just opened the HP nk.nbf file and it is not locked, so no password is needed.
Mikee4fun,
Since it is unlocked, can you pull out the cab for the media player 10?
Instructions and names of tools would work also, thanks for any and all help.
Paul.

This is no good. I've downloaded the SP29295.exe and dumprom the nbf file. It confirms my suspicion that it is an update of the HP iPAQ rx3700 OS files (including WMP10 mobile) and not just individual CAB files.
Unless someone can tell me what are the exact files in the WMP10? I've tested using other versions of ROM, and it seems like I've invariably replace files that affects the core integrity of the OS.
However, I still harbour the fantasy that we might port this stuff over to XDA2.
If you can't get to the right URL link, search at google with the following search string:
"HP iPAQ rx3700" "mobile media companion" update

Paul, the windows media 10 is not a cab install rather a part of the windows mobile 2003 se system. It would require someone to go find all the dll files, registry setting and core file install directory contents to make the whole thing work.

Hope that somebody could come out with a cab file for separate installation.
lets just hope someone can rip the entire se OS from another device and make it work on XDAII. The 2.02, 2.06 and 2.20.07CHS (translated) are getting their bit by bit...
any got wmp 10 from the rom then pls do share.
thanks

list the dll files u need and i'll help u to get them coz i have i-mate jam ROM and i'v extracted all rom filed includes all exe and dll files
all i need a list of needed files 8)
I think the lack of knowledge on the files pretaining to Windows Media Player 10 are ther reason why someone is going to have to have a copy of the ROM and go routing about for the files.
Loading rx3700 nbf file into ER2003Edit asks for a password. Is there any way to find that password?!

Hi all, what's the best software to use if I want to create .cab file for installing apps or chaing registry etc on the Universal's WM5/WM6?
I have tried "WinCE CAB Manager" but the cab file failed to be installed on my Windows Mobile emulator for some reason. I know you can use Visual Studio .NET 2005 something like that, but is there any lighter program in addition to VS .NET?
Thanks in advance!

"WinCE CAB Manager" but the cab file failed to be installed on my Windows Mobile emulator for some reason -> u maybe set the wrong version variables?
check it! ;-) i think it workz!!!
I have set it to support all CPUs and on the OS type I have set it to support Pocket PC 2005. I will give it some more go later and see how it does.
Hi, it is still not working, I have attached the screenshot of the configurations in the cab and the error messsage I get. I tried it with my Universal and the Windows Mobile Device emulator and I got the same error.
Can anyone tell me what I have set wrong in this CAB? Thanks!
BTW, I was only trying to add a small .txt file by using this .cab as a test.
I have just got it working now! I installed WinCE CAB Manager on another PC and it is working fine!! For some reason the cab file it makes on my laptop doesn't work.
Anyway, I will use the other PCs to create the cab file then.
Wrong thread... Sorry
I've installed the 6.1 Kavana ROM (GREAT JOB!!!), and now I'm trying to setup opera mini so that I can access directly and not have to answer the 2 security messages each time using directions from TalynONe at http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...ed-includes-info-new-java-midlet-manager.html .
I've got the icon setup and that part works, though I'd like to change the icon if possible so that it doesn't appear the same as the Java icon.
But I don't seem to have the \windows\appdb\selector.utf directory path so I can't edit the file as outlined. Is this because the Jbed is part of the ROM, rather than a seperate install? Could I find and edit this somewhere else on the phone?
Also, when/if I get all of this working is it possible to change the phone to open URL's via the mini-opera by default rather than using the sluggish PIE?
Thanks,
Tim
Now that I have mini-opera setup as the default browser, I'd really like to bypass the Jbed security warnings per my post above? Any ideas? - Tim

The files are under \Application Data\JavaDB
However, even when you replace the "selector.utf" file in that directory, it still doesn't work. I even tried to install a previous version of the Jbed setup (which did create the "AppDB" directory), but that still didn't work.
I'd like to know the answer as well.
Okay, now that DaMilky helped me locate where the selector.utf file is, I tried the modifications at the link noted above, even downloaded the fix.zip file so that it could convert the file. But it doesn't work, still get the security warnings. :-( - Tim

This post has 2 questions.
Intro: I have a HTC HD flashed with Dutty's 3.7 XT ROM MSVC. I have used HD tweak as the tweak tool.(I am not sure this is relevant).
1) I downloaded Diamond tf3d config and installed it. I tried running it and get an error as soon as it starts. I tried the standard fixes including deleting the tweaks file as well as ensuring the "PressureThreshold" key is a DWORD. It makes no change, the program still gives an error. Could anyone suggest a fix.
2) I want to use tf3d config only for installation of .theme files. Is there an alternate app to do this? Also I know that i can just extract the .theme file as a zip file into the windows folder and restart touchflo for changes. However how do I remove the theme? I read somewhere that I can just delete the replaced files and the original files will be self re-generated. Is this true?
Please respond.
I Dont Believe That Diamond TF3D Config Functions Properly With New Manila Someone Feel Free To Correct Me If I Am Wrong
Well, now that you mention it I remember that tf3d config worked for the stock rom which has old manilla, and doesn't work with dutty's rom with new manilla which I am now using.
So if I cant use tf3d config does anyone know an alternate way of installing .theme files other than tf3d config.
Yeah I'm interested in alternative ways to install themes aswell, can't get TF3D Config to work at all
Yeah, I finally found out that tf3dconfig does not work with the new manilla. to install the theme, change the file extension of the theme file to zip, extract and replace the contents in the windows folder. Am not too sure how to uninstall.
All this information was found after 4 days of searches in xda. the search function on the site does seem to be strange as I ended up with the relevant result on the last page.

**IF YOU HEVE BEEN HERE PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST SINCE IT IS ALL UPDATED!!!
- "Cab Album" support:
A Cab Album is collected information about many Cab files in one place.
Application will here "create" a new Cab Album by scaning folder. (It is possible to include subfolders in search path.)
Since creating a "Cab album" could be time consuming (depends on how many files it has to scan),
collected information - an "Album" can be saved (in xml structured file).
So next time, you can just use the same information by "loading" a saved album from disk (without scaning again).
Creating album is the process that will
a) detact all *.cab files in scaning folder (and subfolders)
b) for each found cab, program will try to locate "_setup.xml" within .cab file and extract information about real / target file names and paths
c) all information will be collected to memory
After that you will be able to
a) browse an album by cab files (from the tree)
b) browse an album by target file names (also from the tree where these files are grouped an counted)
c) search / filter the album by target file names
Also you can
a) click on "save" icon to save the album.
b) double click on cab file (lef side - tree) to open separate window tith that cab info
c) double click on file on the right side to extract it on disk
2009-09-21
- new version suports drag & drop files (from windows explorer)

***CHANGE LOG END
DID you ever try to find some fine resource (manila file, bmp for phone skin ... or whatever), which you know you have seen somewhere. And you are sure you got it somewhere on your hard or stick or ....
DID you ever wanted to create a new skin based on a few existing skins in some cab files.
DID you ever ask yourself - what will that XY.cab install on my device? Will it remove parst of my customization that I don't want to be changed?
In case you didn't this app is probably NOT for you.
But if you DID then you probably know that
a) most cab extractors will NOT extract files with the correct filenames on your hard disk.
Instead of some "5acc5861_manila" that will be installed on your device, what you get on your pc is some file named "0CABA635.001".
The real target file name "5acc5861_manila" is actually set in _setup,xml which is part of cab file for mobile device.
b) it is hard to find all "5acc5861_manila" resources on your hard disk without decompression of all cab files, and fixing a problem described before - see a
What do you think about a new point of view - an "Album" view.
Album view will help you to "scan" your hard disk folders, searching for cab files, extacting information from them (without extracting cab files on disk), and collecting all important information in one Album list.
That's not all.
Since "scanning" or building an album could be time consuming, you can "save" the album (xml file structure) so next time you just open existing album and you got all information very quick.
You can search albums - for example "Assets*.bmp" will find all files located in album containing dialer skins.
With another few clicks you can extract found files on disk and use you favourite tools to view or edit them.
Prease note tha this application is extended version of
"[APP][v2009-09-17] Cab utility - RENAME cab content/files to normal target names" located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561533
Requirements: .NET framework 3.5 on your PC
BTW: If someone know some good .NET library for converting / previewing or updating _manila files please do let me know.
Also if someone would like to use some of functionality of this app in other projects ... I will be glad if I can help providing details about my libraries.
I hope you'll like it...

Awesome thank you!

Yes in some systems you can get this error. On my laptop I have no problems but on my home PC I had exat the same error.
What I did to solve this problem is to replace version of CabLib, and also I put 2 dlls in the same folder where is application.
You can find CabLibFix in additional attachment in first post. Just put those files in the same directory (replace existing CabLib + additional 2 new files).
Please do let me know if that helps
Could not load file or assembly 'Cablib
Please note that v2009-09-22 should fix problems with error "Could not load file or assembly 'Cablib.." on some systems.
"FIx files" are included in that version, so I removed "fix..." archive.
However if you still have problems please do let me know,

v2009-09-22
v2009-09-22 works like a charm.
Thank you again
v2009-09-23 now has image / text preview + info about manila type of file (xml, SQLite, Lua_Script, Mode_9 ...)
Also you preview manila IMAGE files (decoded using cfc.exe to png)
The only inconvinience is that I manage to hardcode path to cfc.exe ( "c:\windows\cfc.exe").
Sory!
Error on win64 with an 'any CPU' build
Hi
We are using your CabLib.dll v2009-09-23 to load cab files inside our c# application. It works really well, except for one case.
When we build the application for target 'any cpu' and then install on a windows xp64 machine, we get an error message:
System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'CabLib, Version=10.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5c838b77b53f84a0' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
File name: 'CabLib, Version=10.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5c838b77b53f84a0'
Everything works fine when we change the target to 'x86', but that then causes problems with our test suite. The 'Any CPU' build only fails in x64 machines.
I was wondering how you build your DLL and if you have any ideas to help us fix this problem.
Here's my config:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Version 9.0.30729.1 SP
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 3.5 SP1
The build and test is on an xp64 SP2 machine.
-- update --
I've also found that aiCabExplorer.exe has the same problem on my win64 machine. I see you are including the 32 bit C run time DLL's which you provide in the release - that appears to be the problem, as the OS is trying to dynamically link against the 64 bit version of MSCOREE.DLL, KERNEL32.DLL, OLE32.DLL and OLEAUT32.DLL and doesn't like mixing them up.
So the solution, I think, is for you to build without explicit dependencies on the 32 bit libraries. Is there any chance of getting a version like that?
Thanks,
Mark

I use this app all the time.
