he was just asking if there was a website...

because i dont feel like redownloading and cracking fireworks and dreamweaver
but in the future i might just do that and use it as turn it in as project for my web design class

ahh.. gives me ideass to make a theme webiste.. lol.. if you make one i'll help contribute some themes to it .. just have to wait until putting themes on your phone becomes easier for the end user that doesn't know about XDA .. and flashing .. and what the heck a Root is

It is kind of humorous.
I was in the market for a new phone and was looking at the Iphone since it came out. Three or four guys at work showed me their phones and I was hooked, damned be the Iphone's good looks.
After having my phone for two weeks I noticed that the stuff coming out on the Android Market was usefull, but since I like things like Overclocking, you know... bigger...better...faster, I stumbled onto this website about a 2 weeks before the root RC30>RC29 breakthrough. I am trying to keep up because I think this android thing is gonna be really big and I am trying to keep up.
Its been along time since I have done any difficult computer stuff, and these forums has caused me to start considering learning something about Linux.
Themes and Wallpapers will probably get alot easier in the future, but I will be able to look back and say, I remember when we used to have to do things the hard way.

the android system will be come soo universal that the iphone will pale in comparison unless apple changes how they go about things , hardware wise
i think the iphone's hardware is a masterpeice but, the OS is like a trainwreck
ooooo imagine an iphone with android that would be pretty badass
but anyways
the free-ness and the ubiquidocity that will become of the android system
will lead too greatness

modmygphone.com has a Themes section where you can upload/download themes.

xda site has more themes but its not as organized =[

Went from a newborn on 22 October to it's current state as a cute lil' toddler with it's own personality already in just 3 months.
Now there's root for all thanks to JesusFreke; Koush has the screenshot and autorotate browser, we've got a good collection of themes started, 190 apps on Market and 140 games.
Our lil' Android is growing up. Ahh, they grow up so fast, don't they?

Hi guys...I am thinking about creating a website that will host G1 themes, backgrounds, icon sets...etc. Kinda like a one site for all G1 stuff. If I were to create this website, would I have support from the G1 XDA crew, like providing with themes and what not?
Also, I will need some people to help me run the website and stuff so if you have experience, let me know

Sounds like a pretty sweet idea, because I have a feeling this whole thing is gonna skyrocket once the Android usage hits critical mass later this year. I'd try to contribute on such a site, no doubt.

Reasons I'd consider waiting are as follows:
1, When CupCake is released, what kind of impact will this have on the theming community.
2, Maybe wait until all themes are cross platform compatible (i.e. we don't need separate RC8, RC30, and ADP1 versions)
3, Maybe wait until the first theming program is release, so people not aware don't try to randomly flash and jack up their phone.
4, Do we really need a dedicated website already? Have we even hit the 10 theme mark yet? (Also, aren't they all in here right now anyway?)
These are just my thoughts. Others' will probably differ.

I 100% agree with Mi|enko.
Wait it out man.... the operating system is changing so fast that you don't want to waste the money. There are rumors of Google releasing a theme creator which will be available "online". (You will create your theme from Gmail.com and it will sync with your phone).
That would mean your website goes down the hole REAL quick...

Vista Theme? Is anyone really interested?

I have been kicking around the idea of a Vista theme for quite sometime. But didn't think anyone would be interested. I have played around with the idea and it actually looks pretty cool. I will put up some screen shots later.
But Before i go all out is anyone really interested in this idea?

I think you should go for the Vista theme. Windows 7 is beta still and vista isn't, so use what the one that is complete.

Well its settled, i am making a Vista theme. It is starting to look better then the theme i was making for the contest so i think I will be using this one for the contest instead. So in 2 weeks you guys will see it.

it made me happy! lol because since it's for the contest, you will put much more effort on this, can't wait. Plus it's just two weeks, I could deal with that.

Hehe a week ago I was hating this contest for holding back so many themes, but as it draws closer I'm anxious to see all the themes that will come out of it. Hopefully when windows 7 is finally released you'd be willing to make a true windows 7 theme.

I thought that about the contest at first but then realized that a bunch of great themes will be released at once! Every contestants theme will be their best I'm sure and this one I will be looking forward to! Love Vista's looks but hate the hardware compatibilty issues. I'm sure a serivce pack fixed that early issue, right? I bought a new pc 3 months ago but ordered it with XP, lol... Love Vista's looks though. One of my co workers has one and I installed a cellular usb dongle for her. It was more of a pain than XP but has a beautiful interface. Windows 7 looks good but it's still beta. I was too scared to use the beta (didn't want to reinstall everything) , did anyone else try it out yet?

coming from one theme maker to another... despite the public opinion, i think we need more of us around.. i mean u have 30 some themes on here, you should feel accomplished like xcalibur said..

truth be told you are a necessary force on these boards...you do niche themes as well as run of the mill themes, not too many people too interested in niche themes, and while yours may not be the most complete themes (personally, id love if you made this one as complete as possible minus the pink) they are the most readily available.

Who the Fu*! cares if some others don't like your themes. I may not like ALL of your themes. But, you make many that I DO like. But, whether I like them or not I appreciate the time and effort you put into making them.
Some of the themes entered into the competition weren't anything I would use on a daily basis... But, that doesn't mean that they weren't works of art. I appreciated every single one of them.
I really like many of the themes that you have made and look forward to seeing others in the future.
As for this theme... My wife loves it! She is stuck on her Blackberry (she has small hands and the G1 is just not comfortable for her) and wishes she could put it on her BB.

Dont Quit Randum you have the most and some of the best themes for the android OS. You also account for about 50% of the themes on Android Evolve!

A very nice theme indeed, it is my favourite theme for the RC9 ones out there. A very good vibrant theme! Consider it as a competative theme would like to see some more of your work PLEASE!? especially when they convert so well onto the RC9 ver (UK for me).

Theme Idea Anyone?

I know there is already an entire thread dedicated to this but I felt like creating one for my own purposes. Lock, delete, flame, piss, moan if you want to. This is just a simple request for a request.
I need an idea for a theme but I need it to be a bit more specific than those I see floating around in the theme request thread. A lot of them request things by name like "starcraft" or "Bad Religion" and I have no idea what those are. So, I'm just asking for someone to make a request, specify colors if they want, link me to an image or two so I can get an idea of what you want and add any other details you feel will help flesh out your vision. I'm not the best themer here but I love to do graphic design and I see theming as a way to improve and polish my skills. And its fun. But please no sports teams or halo. Those are just waaay to overdone. Maybe not here on Android but elsewhere for sure. Thanks.

aqua alien by prash looks like a homosexual pokemon theme - take that design and make it better with like some robotic tech theme. whites and blues are always great combo. take smorg stuff for glossy sleek looks. thanks.

just for that, im gonna apologize to you. your work is excellent and you're a good sport. the colors you used are real sleek, but the whole alien pokemon look didn't flow well

Wow. There's enough icons in the Tango icon theme to skin app icons, buttons, and even the emoticons. I may just use these to make a Ubuntu theme .

Yeah I'm gonna do it, but not with the official Tango icons, instead I'm gonna use the Unabashed Tango Theme. It's not the official Tango theme but it's close enough. It even has 48x48 icons.

I google'd this (via images) and checked out some images and liked what I saw but reading down I see someone already beat me to beginning work on an Ubuntu theme. I may just work on one anyway simply because I really liked the images I saw.
Also, I like the Left 4 Dead one for the Pre. I'll see how much I can dig out of it and make it a straight port for you, doing as little myself as possible to it to keep it how you saw it on your friends Pre. Thanks for the responces. I really appreciate that.

By the way, I see a lot of pictures of what I think is a Moose mixed in with the Ubuntu images. Is this animal related and should I make wallpapers with it?

I love Hellsing. I'll give that a go once I finish Ubuntu.

black notification bar and when slid down its semi transparent. app draw icon to open is 100% transparent, when slide open semi trnsparent. with this design on both notification bar and app draw like the one in in Minus for cyanogens 4.0.4.
with hero icons.

[Q] [REQUEST] Resident Evil/Umbrella Corp Theme w/Boot ani.

I have been searching around for a Resident Evil theme and/or boot animation and haven't found much for the EVO. I thought an entire resident evil or Umbrella corp theme would be pretty sweet.
Any crafty DEV's feel like tackling it?

I am all about it. If it gets done i will be #1 to install.

I think that will be an awesome idea, I will use that if it comes out.

Well at least I am not the only one. Good to know there is some other interest in the idea. Hopefully if the interest continues to grow then we might be able to see one in development.

not until someone that actually knows how to do it becomes interested. its much easier to find pps willing to flash a new theme than it is finding a themer to produce it....it will be advantageous to yourself to learn how to do it yourself. theming is not very hard, mostly just png viewing/swapping. fyi, a full theme can take someone up to a week or even much longer than that,so a request is nice, but offering help to a themer is a much better way to get your theme produced if you cant do it yourself...grab images,pics,gifs,etc... and post them up for said themer to work with as a base for your suggested theme.

i like RE too, but dont have time to complete a theme for pps, plus this theme will be going to a select few pps, and when you produce a theme upon request, you would like it to reach as many people as possible since it tends to be very time consuming....in other words, for a themer to produce this theme with 2 or 3 replies in the thread, and no interest of their own may not be very likely, however i wish you all good luck. sorry i am too busy to take on this theme....but you increase your odds of production, when....
1.the themer wants the theme themself
2.EVERYONE here would love the theme
3.you give the themer a starting point for basing the theme(images,logos,etc...)
4.learn to theme yourself(i am one of those picky pps with bad taste so i had to do it this way)

I totally understand, I would love to build it myself, but am not at a point yet where i even understand where to begin (though i am reading up on it) I have several idea's in mind as far as images and icons, boot ani. With the more i read on it, i may be willing to try and create one. Thanks for the input

Magnus has the right idea. Post some images and resources here. Screencaps of interfaces and such. That might be enough to inspire somebody to make it happen.
