imate PDAL ROM Upgrade problem

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I am stuck at a dead end.
tried to upgrade PDAL ROM to 3.0 (from 2.01)
Got a blue i-mate screen never went out of it.
tried all the hardreset tricks, no use.
tried to reinstall RUU with activesync, no use.
What else can be done?
for example, would it be possible to delete the ROM totally and reinstall it? how?

I've just spoken to the customer service from i-Mate. This issue can only be resolved by their service centre. So, no any simple solution so far.
Please be aware when you want to upgrade it.

my device is in service center for 7 days and they could not come up with a solution. I hope it is because they did not start working on it yet

1. Download Romupdate v1.11a
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete) kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run Romupdate v1.11a (from downloaded)
5. from left top corner drop down menu Port: Choose WCEUSBSH001 (If you only see COM 1 and COM1 try unplugging the USB and replugging it)
6. press OK button
7. type "set 14 0" without the quotes in blank window that showed up to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
8.press enter to execute
9. on next line you will see:
HTCST ÚÈÒHTCEUSB>
10.type "task 28" (no quotes) right after > sign to get your device formatted
11.press enter to execute, you gonna see:
DOC_format_HW+
DOCInfoTableinitHW+
Binary0:dwSize=80000
BINFS0:dwSize=0
FAT0:dwSize=1000000
FAT1:dwSize=2BA0000
All:dwSize=3C20000
USB>
12. type "task 0" (no quotes) right atfter > sign to ask your device reboot
13.press enter to execute the command
14. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.

Don't think mtty will work as PDAl is not an HTC device..

PDAL Problem
I too am facing the same problem with my PDAL. I upgraded the rom version and now am just getting the initial blue screen with the imate details. Please help in solving this as i just cant seem to be going forward. Any ideas how to get the device booted up and working .

1. How to enter Bootloader in PDAL?
I inquired the service people and was told it can be done by pressing power button and left soft key simuteneously and tap the reset hole. I have tried and it did work.
2. Any solution for not passing the welcome screen?
It seems there isn't any solution, other than sending to their service centre. It will take a long time. My phone has been there over 2 weeks but I was told they are still awaiting part. I guess they will replace the main board.
3. PDAL isn't HTC device?
I think it is. The code with HTC should be Pean. The service centre also listed it as HTC device. But I am not sure if MTTY can work.

Flashing your Imate PDAL
Dear All,
I Have enough experience of Imate PDAL , It's too simple , just follow the steps below:
1- got any ROM version from Imate website "www.clubimate.com"
2- Format your Imate flash card using your PC ( use any USB card reader matches the size), "FORMAT WITH FAT OPTION ONLY , DON'T FORMAT WITH FAT32 " and keep it connected to your PC for now.
3- prepare your PC to show all hidden files using "folder option " from your PC control panel, without this you will not be able to access the below in step 5>
4- run the EXE ROM file of Imate Rom on your PC but don't follow the steps on the screen , just keep it waiting for an action)
5- now browse your PC ( go to your windows Temp folder in the boot sector of your windows " Example C:\Documents and Settings\Magdy\Local Settings\Temp"
6- Click your the right button of your mouse and chose ( arrange Icon by Modified )
7- go to the the last folder in the list and open it , you will find the following files inside that folder " CoolFlash_Comms.dll , GotoBL.exe, RUUShop.exe,WMIPL.DIP,WMUPDAT.DIP "
8- Mark the last two files "WMIPL.DIP,WMUPDAT.DIP" and copy them to your Flash Card , now you are ready to flash your mobile using your only flash card.
9- insert the flash card in your Imate PDAL , remove the Battery for 5 seconds and install it again .
10- now Press the two Bottons (Left button " above the green handset button" + Power Botton ) , the mobile will start flashing your mobile , after completion your mobile will restart automatically.
Enjoy
Hint: some other roms of Imate Pdal " Like the Chinese WM6 one " doesn't need the WMIPL.DIP file , it needs only the WMUPDAT.DIP to flash the device.
The above is safe and would not damage your Device but know that " NO DATA WOULD BE RECOVERED UNLESS YOU HAVE A BACKUP DATA FOR IT, THE DEVICE WILL BE AS FACTORY DEFAULT"

Hi Magdy, sorry for my english but i'm italian...
i bought a PDAL with english language (the seller said me that was italian ), so i would like to flash it in italian...how can i do? Is no problem to flashing, but i don't have any rom and I don't know hoe to retrieve it from the web...
In your experience, is possible to copy the italian rom from an italian PDAL (of my friend) to flash my pdal?
Is there a version of WM06 (also in english) avaiable?

Sorry for going off topic but my intentions are just to inform you guys that I just finished translating Chinese WM6 rom to English, I also added some packages and tweaked it to perform batter...
I made this rom for myself as I was unable to find and Eng WM6 rom for my PDAL and WM5 was out dated, but I also wanted to share it with you guys so that you can also enjoy using English WM6 on your PDAL devices.

i've got 2nd hand xda stealth for 2 weeks, now my stealth cannot boot (black screen, call and End Button are light) after i flash my stealth with wrong ram with nb0 extension on miniSD. please any one can help me to recover my Stealth ?

go to www.seeo2.com, download a rom upgrade utility from there.. then start upgrade procedure again. As xda stealth is a hybrid phone..dont try any custom roms on it..

i already download the upgrade rom from the o2 site (now is www.mwg.com), i put the rom to my SDCard, the problem is how can i enter the boot loader, in case my stealth always in blank screen with call and end button are light.
i already press press power + call + end button, but my stealth stuck on that condition. every method of flashing mode i already try but no response from my stealth.

oh yea malhar, for information i read the procedure for upgrading on o2 site that connect status is required for upgrading procedure in activecync, my stealth has disconnected status when i plug to my com. can i do the upgrade the rom in this case?

buddy, remove ur sd card from the device first..and then hard reset ur device by pressing reset button via stylus, then flag which is windows home key and then ok key..reset+flag+ok.. maintain the sequence..press reset first keep on pressing then flag and ok key.. it will format ur device.... then try to flash new rom on it

Your SPL boot loader sounds like it is gone, formatted...
You may be able to patch it, using scripts & mtty if you can get into DL mode. Sounds like you're stuck in OEMSBL though.

i have try pressing flat and ok botton to format . but nothing appear on the screen . is the other way to format or upgrade rom .

• The device doesn't boot, I see only O2 logo. Hard reset doesn't help and the Firmware update process stops with the first message?
1. turn off the device;
2. enter engineering mode;
3. in Main menu choose Boot Config;
4. in Configuration menu choose EBOOT-Launch Image;
5. turn off the device;
6. now hard reset or upgrade firmware.
Sometimes helps another method: leave the device without the battery for about 30 minutes, then turn your O2 XDA Stealth on.

2. hold Flag, OK and Camera + press and hold Power button;

i have a O2 tealth hanged on O2..... i tried hard reset but din work .... i downloaded new rom and software for updation .....but the problem is i cannot connect to pc.... active sync is installed...... plz help

It worked for me
Goto to your PDA setting and uncheck USB to PC.
Note: Check task before connecting to USB ensure no task including Active Sync.
FYI.
Im using VISTA Ultimate to update my XDA.
From WB 6.1 back to WM5. WM 6.1 too buggy and battery drained fast.

i have the same problem --- my stealth is absolutely dead after using a cheap local charger
i have dismantled the board and taken some pics of the jtag connectors -- made the common LPT port jtag cable
how to proceed from here ?????
is the procedure similar to that of jtag recovery of a flame or an atom exec ??

Asus P750 - upgrade to VGA - How stable??

I saw the thread on this forum about the VGA ROM for the P750...
Unfortunately I am not an expert at all and perhaps maybe not the right place here for me to ask but here it goes,
Can I easily install and remove the ROM in case the the VGA patch starts bugging? and how do you install the ROM, is there are step by step manual floating around?
any feedback greatly appreciated!

Hi, I did install the VGA ROM vers. 1.02 by Sorg & GreatVK and also tried the 0.17 by Sorg.
I didn't link the dual-mode keyboard (RUS-US) of the 0.17 and I think it has a higher memmory comsumition. So, I prefered the 1.02.
The 1.02 is stable, and the only problem I noticed is about the Live Messenger that do not works. The VGA screen is realy better!!!
If you do not like, you can install other dumped ROM or one of those you can find at asus website.
To install de Dumped: put the .nb0 file on a microSD (not HC) and press voice memo + down + power + reset.
To install de Shipped: put the .cap file on a microSD (not HC) and press voice memo + up + power + reset.
Here both methods works finte.

Depends, if your ROM is avaiable at Asus site you dont. Mine was WWE UK, there has just WWE SG, TH and MS at asus site. I restored my to SG with no broblems, just did the forced mode 1st and after coud do the normal one.
Wich ROM is currenty on your device (settings/ system / system information / version)?

I am running the VGA 0.17 Base and am very happy with it, only the Keybaord Thing drives me crazy and CoolCamera is a bit crappy......... But once you have seen the VGA, believe me you dont want to go back to QVGA. Also WM6.1 more stable in my Opinion than WM6.0 and few nice Things like a real Taskmanager......... attached a screenshot !!

Flashrom Update.....

but nothing really happens

Right Hand on Voice Button and Slider, left hand on J/Stick Press Reset w Stylus using your mouth....... Remember when flashing from SD Card only plug-in Cable after this...
Also for Cap File J/stick up and for nbo File J/stick up.....

3)joystick down and slide the button to switch off the top Hold these buttons in a position to release and push briefly reset (now come in such rastopyrku ASUS!).We continue to hold the button until butbloka server It shall commence proceedings firmware
ok so installing the root folder which is thiS? My MicroSD folder is completely empty and how do I know it s not HC?
for the record, the joystick button needs to pressed down or up? manual above says down, you say up!

it seems to work now to some extent
in the boot menu it says ' PEGASUS NBO not found'
I checked in mobile explorer, the file is sitting there..
coulld it not work because my p750 is running on a Dutch ROM??? (the WM language is Dutch witch is not changeable it seems)

Copy The File PegasuP.nb0 to the just formatted Card, remember you must format FAT16 !! and then it should find it.......

Oh the the Card will say HC on it if it is !! To flash to another Asus OEM Rom (like WWE English) put the AsusP750.cap File on the Card and do the same Procedure only push the Joystick UP, then it will ask to be plugged into either USB or Charger Cable, after you do this the Boot will start. Then extract the the whole OEM Firmware onto the Card and upgrade again.

1. Format your MicroSD card (max. capacity 2 Gb! NOT SDHC) and copy PegasusP.nb0 on it
2. Plug in you MicroSD card into smartphone and connect in to PC or plug in power adapter
3. Press and hold VoiceCommander button + joystick down + PowerButton up and press Reset once but keep on holding the buttons untill you see bootloader screen. Then it starts uploading new firmware
4. Smartphone will reboot and that`s it!
Var.2 for XP users!

Hi All,
Will the above describe procedure force-load a ROM that is from a different region than the original ROM? There are some new 6.1 WWE ROMs on the ASUS website, but I can't get them to load since my phone is not from any of the regions available.
Has anyone tried the new ROMs? Any recommendations?

Yes it will force it to flash whatever region your device is from. As always use at your own risk.

unrar the files on to a folder on the desktop.
1. using the task manager, kill active sync and known programs.
2. use slide up + recording button + reset button using stylus. the screen will reboot to a boot loader screen saying waiting..
3. open active sync and from setting uncheck connect using usb. and connect the phone to pc.
4. using cmd change dir to desktop folder.
5. type usbloader pegasusp.nb0
6. wait for the file transfer and reboot the phone once complete. (should take 10-15 mins)

Connect your diamond to PC as a disk drive (mass storage) and copy your ROM to Internal Storage. Make sure it`s name is "DIAMIMG.nbh" (*.nbh is the extension, make sure it is only once, not like this: "DIAMIMG.nbh.nbh" ) and than hit the reset button and hold vol down + back key. After update make a hard reset, hit the reset button and hold vol down + center key and follow the instructions on the screen (vol up to format only phone memory).

So... put "DIAMIMG.nbh" into Internal Storage (root). Unplug you diamond from PC, hit the reset button, and hold vol down + back key, press power key, wait for update to complete.

Just going by my Diamond and what you said in a previous post, it should say (quoting my diamond) "SPL-1.24. Hard"
You can't flash custom ROMs with a stock SPL.
Link for HSPL is in here, read along with it.

If you can connect to activesync (should be possible, since you are back to original),
use the customRUU method. At least that should give an idea of where the process is getting wrong, plus will allow recovery.
