I used about a month to finish editing a ROM for hx4700.
It solves the slow speed problem of hx4700 with original WM5.
Highlights:
1) 8 MB Paging Pool
2) WM6 Rings and sounds thx to bluecream4
3) WM6 .tsk and themes in wisbar
4) Removed Dockware, Pocket Informant, Today Panel
5) Removed useless documents, pictures and ugly hp original themes
6) Added WM6 icons thx to bluecream4
7) Added Taskmgr v2.7 in .cab form thx to dotfred
Note:
- Usable ROM: 82.59MB Usable RAM: 54.30MB
- Please install WM6Icon.cab immediately after you have flashed your device. Do not change the start menu settings until you have installed the Icon pack.
- Please do not uninstall the WM6Icon. If you do so, the shortcuts in program files will also be deleted.
- You can decide to install or not to install the 3 programs. You can find them in \Windows. After Hardreset they are still there.
- Please do not perform system restore as the icons may be duplicated
How to flash:
First, you should have your HP iPAQ hx4700 WM5 ROM 2.01 ENG version Upgrade handy. Run the program. Stop when you see the Upgrade button. Copy and rename the file you downloaded as CEOS_UPD.nbf
replace the Edited CEOS_UPD.nbf with the one you have just installed on your computer. the location is like C:/ipaq/spXXX
then press the upgrade button
Please aware that it is your decision to flash it.
After flashing please perform a hard reset to boot up.

Does this fix the filesys.exe problem?

after flashing this ROM
the device runs more faster if:
1) Change active Sync schedule to manual
2) do not use automatic backlight adjustment
Could You Posibble to compress it and upload again, bcos the size are to big for my connection.
btw what the list of changes you made beside you delete the dockware and pocket informant and add wm6 icons ??

important: After upgrating can we DOWNGRADE to 1.10 (2003SE) like before in normal 2.01(hp ROM)?

The base ROM (tupisdin's) is version 3.5.405.1
It seems like it's leaked HTC ROM. It has the standart HTC dialer, QuickGPS, TomTom (on the ExtROM, installs after first flash) and so on. It uses the HTC theme (green).
What i did was adding few applications that are now built-in on the ROM, so they don't eat your RAM (but ROM) and also you don't have to install them everytime you do hard-reset

Since it's my first ROM i didn't touched any other files, only added some. I built it following the CorePro Kitchen's manual, so i guess everything should be working.

I'm having trouble downloading it, it stops anywhere between 1-4%, I tried many times, is there anywhere else to download it from?
I eventually got it to download with "Flashgot" a plugin for firefox, which then downloads with "Bitcomet" really fast. I shall in the future downlaod everything this way.

My 1st attempt to update with this rom has failed early on at a few percent. So although my orbit has booted up properly after I feel a bit afraid to keep trying to flash it, since it is running so sweetly right now. The German installer threw me a bit also. Sorry to sound so negative, but I have no criticism of the rom just my own lack of downloading and flashing skills.
I had the same problem as uniqueboy, there is some error after it starts flashing and I don't understand anything because is in german.
Can't upgrade this rom... after 1% it just stops...

Download Instructions:

1. Download the .zip file and extract the .exe file within.
2. Ensure Activesync v4.5 (or higher) is installed on PC/laptop for OS WinXP and below. For Windows Vista and above there is no need to install ActiveSync.

Try to deactivate HTC's phone skih. The WM6 default skin now have great new options.
Here is the registry change:
Remove operator skin from Phone app
If your device's Phone app is skinned, you can remove by setting:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Similarly, you can restore it with:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)

I dont know how, or if you can uninstall those programs..look in your system folder under program files, but I dont recall ever seeing those programs in there. I think they are in the extended ROM and would have to be removed before you flash...but I dont know how to do it, or if that information is correct.
I do know, however, that SIP has to do with Voice Over IP - Internet, or WiFi calling. Thats all I know on that subject, not a feature I ever got excited about.

First; the calculator can NEVER be removed (it's part of the WM Operating system).
For the Voice speed dial i'm not sure, but you can remove apps that were installed from the EXTended ROM by doing a hard reset, and then immediately do a soft-reset as soon as the 'customisation-process' starts (that's what loads apps from the extended rom to your device, and so you skip that).
HOWEVER: as there may be some customisations in there that are needed for good operation on your network, you do this at your own risk...

I've got a Trinity with an official Dopod WM6 ROM on it, and now i am looking for upgrading my friends Artemis...
So i wondered if there are any issues with this ROM, and how exactly all of you flashed this on a different CID device (my Friend 's got a Dutch (NL) Artemis)... So far i have found out that apparently the Artemis has to be CID unlocked completely before flashing different CID ROM...or are there hacked bootloaders out there that work too...?
Sorry for asking a question that may have been answered before, but an Artemis is just not my native device as you understand...

About the only way to remove those particular apps would be to cook your own ROM, resetting before customization might get rid of Voice command and Clearvuew PDF, but I am not sure. I have contemplated cooking my own version of the official 3.5 ROM to get rid of Voice Command and ClearVue but it has not been worth the effort yet. Maybe once the official HTC ROM comes out. I install too many programs to make me want to flash regularly.

This is a ROM based on Schap's ROM with additional chinese/japanese support, it is still an english based rom but is capable to display chinese and japanese, I also added in the Tao's 10 Buttons Kaiser CommManager and some useful programs. However, the Advanced Configurator is not working because of the new commmanager.

1º)I have Japanese I/O enabled, with "Roma/Kana" SIP by default (via SIP change of Sheult). But when I open a program, always "hiragana" write is default one, and I need to change to "romanji" (normal English input); but no I idea how to do it (><)
That isn't put "Keyboard" SIP for english input; it's Japanese input, but romanji by default. I hope I explain myself.

first of all, it does not contain any language specific SIP, therefore you can install the one you preferred... The ROM is based on the normal version, you dont have to switch in between chinese/japanese as the GUI is in English but support read/write in chinese/japanese.

2. as for the Yahoo! Keitai, I have no idea on how to access it, I tried to search on Google but there is no any information about how to connect it.. so..

When I use wisbar version 2.8, the font on the start menu and the bottom soft button seems to small. Any advices please?
(For normal (non-wisbar) start menu, the font is ok.)

I dont use any of the kitchen, I tried bepe's kitchen before however the CHT one didnt work well, so I decided to use cooked ROM and reheat again
all I do is,
1. use NBHextract to extract .nb from .nbh
2. use NBDump.bat to dump .nb file into a folder
3. put mingliu.ac3 and replace wince.nls into the folder
4. use koch's tools to edit default.hv / user.hv (registry)
5. use NBBuild.bat to build .nb file
6. use koch's tools to build from .nb file to .nbh file
that's all
Schap's WM6 Pro 3.54b seems like a mature ROM, and maybe a great idea to do a CHT support

Hi Rick,
2 small issue might need your help:
1. the Chinese music title will not display correctly while setting region to (Enlish United States), and I have to set to Taiwan or HK to display coeectly. But if I set region to Taiwan, the phone number will not display the way I wanted. For example: The regular view of any incoming call display as: (626) 555-7777, and it will only display as: 6265557777. No "()".
2. The phone address book does not display right on my Mercedes. The old version will shows address book and call history.
See if you can help out. This is an issue with all ROM with CHTsupport

* 6.5 ROM has a Homescreen bug, please see workaround below
* The Cavalier hardware has major bugs. No OS newer than 19XXX will run correctly. Use Version 0.99 for a stable WM 6.1 release.
I know that for some, as for me, the Bluetooth problem is major. If anyone wants to take a stab at it and help find a fix, by all means, please do! I think it has something do to with btdrt.dll not registering properly.
Flashing instructions (Remove the SD card!!):
1. HardSPL Recommended! See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398945
2. Download and unzip the file
3. Run RomUpdateUtility.exe
4. Follow the prompts
5. The flash will take about 8-10 minutes
6. Upon first boot, it will seem frozen for a few minutes, maybe even go black. This is NORMAL!
7. Enjoy!
In case something goes wrong:
1. Remove the battery and the SD Card--> Put ONLY the battery back in.
2. While holding the camera button, press the power button
3. The multicolor boot screen will pop up
4. Plug in the USB cable and flash back your shipped (HTC or Dopod) ROM
5. Find out what went wrong and reflash this new ROM properly

One small problem
Love this ROM, looks great, works very well for the most part, only one small problem I've found so far. When I open the start menu it shows recent items, but when you use the left softkey to open "All Programs" the button flashes, but nothing changes, you are just stuck at the recent items menu. You can't get to any other installed apps... Would love it if a fix were available...

I am using the DOPOD C730. Just for the heck of it I re-flashed the ROM to my phone. That did seem to fix the issue, now when I press the "All Programs" softkey, the menu expands and shows all installed programs. Confirming that bluetooth does not work with this ROM on the DOPOD C730 either. WiFi works ok, and other features seem good. I'll report anything else I find as well. So you guys can ignore my previous post about the programs menu, its working after a ROM re-flash.
ROM expires?
I just rebooted my phone and noticed that this ROM appears to expire. I get a message saying this concludes the beta test of this software. I can't get past it and am going to re-flash the original ROM for now. Looking forward to a final build of this ROM to use!
I've got the same problem as joe- I'll bet htc put an expiration date on the rom. One (temporary) workaround would be to set an incorrect, earlier date, I suppose. But otherwise, an awesome rom! Great job!

Tell me or by the keyboard may not work at all, for example, on my Samsung
oh, and also none of my apps seem to be able to use data. I did auto configure for at&t, and IE can get online, but neither skyfire, facebook, or seven email seem to be able to use the data connection.
Good to know that this ROM has a Time Bomb. On the other hand, how's the battery life?

This might be due to the Home Screen timeout issue I am battling. Goes to "the layout cannot be loaded" after letting it sit at idle for a while. Try unchecking the "show recent programs" box in Home Screen settimgs. I am working on a permanent fix. Uploading another test version right now for you guys to try. Bluetooth fixed!!!! Please test A2DP, etc...

WOW! You guys got that "time-bomb" It also happened to Excalibur users with NRG's Energy ROM. I am uploading a new version now with SYS 21048 that is not going to expire... (hopefully)

Thats weird. I use 3G data with everything. Outlook, email, IE, Google Maps, etc. Check to make sure its set to use either Internet Connection or Media.net if on AT&T. Uploading 1.01 now. Check the first post for the link.
