Download Instructions:
IMPORTANT! - please read these instructions carefully before updating your device
1. Download the .zip file and extract the .exe file within.
2. Ensure Activesync v4.5 (or higher) is installed on PC/laptop for OS WinXP and below. For Windows Vista and above there is no need to install ActiveSync.
3. Connect P800w to PC/laptop.
4. VERY IMPORTANT! - Ensure your device is connected properly to the PC/laptop.
5. Make sure the battery is charged to at least 50%.
6. Double-click on the .exe file to run the update utility.
7. VERY IMPORTANT! - All files and software on the device will be lost after the update. Please ensure a copy of your important files is backed-up somewhere else.
8. Please close all programs on your PC/laptop when running the update utility.
9. VERY IMPORTANT! - Do not unplug the device when the update process is running, doing so may damage the device.
10. After updating, the device will reboot, this is normal.
Note: HTC just releases a new WM6 Rom upgrade version program. Please note that there is a need to reinstall new MapKing software once you have finished the upgrade to Windows Mobile 6. The MKID of your MapKing map will be changed. Therefore to continue to use the MapKing map, you need to follow the steps below in order to apply a new registration code:
1.Please access, http://www2.mapking.com/UpgradeScheme_Dopod.htm 2.Input your original MapKing product authorization code. After the verification, you can proceed to the next step: Input your new MKID and press the “Submit” button. Then you will get a new registration code.

Try to deactivate HTC's phone skih. The WM6 default skin now have great new options.
Here is the registry change:
Remove operator skin from Phone app
If your device's Phone app is skinned, you can remove by setting:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Similarly, you can restore it with:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)

I dont know how, or if you can uninstall those programs..look in your system folder under program files, but I dont recall ever seeing those programs in there. I think they are in the extended ROM and would have to be removed before you flash...but I dont know how to do it, or if that information is correct.
I do know, however, that SIP has to do with Voice Over IP - Internet, or WiFi calling. Thats all I know on that subject, not a feature I ever got excited about.

First; the calculator can NEVER be removed (it's part of the WM Operating system).
For the Voice speed dial i'm not sure, but you can remove apps that were installed from the EXTended ROM by doing a hard reset, and then immediately do a soft-reset as soon as the 'customisation-process' starts (that's what loads apps from the extended rom to your device, and so you skip that).
HOWEVER: as there may be some customisations in there that are needed for good operation on your network, you do this at your own risk...

I've got a Trinity with an official Dopod WM6 ROM on it, and now i am looking for upgrading my friends Artemis...
So i wondered if there are any issues with this ROM, and how exactly all of you flashed this on a different CID device (my Friend 's got a Dutch (NL) Artemis)... So far i have found out that apparently the Artemis has to be CID unlocked completely before flashing different CID ROM...or are there hacked bootloaders out there that work too...?
Sorry for asking a question that may have been answered before, but an Artemis is just not my native device as you understand...

Yes! WM6 is on my Orbit - going to remove the horrible green HTC dialpad.

About the only way to remove those particular apps would be to cook your own ROM, resetting before customization might get rid of Voice command and Clearvuew PDF, but I am not sure. I have contemplated cooking my own version of the official 3.5 ROM to get rid of Voice Command and ClearVue but it has not been worth the effort yet. Maybe once the official HTC ROM comes out. I install too many programs to make me want to flash regularly.

v2.0 of my developer ROM is now available. Core/XIP is the official WM6 core. Bluetooth, Power Management, Communications Management and GDI are also from the official ROM. This ROM will play 3G streams or local mp3s over A2DP in powersave mode to Coreplayer or Audio Manager. Unfortunately, WMP can't do this. This is because I forgot to refresh WMP

This ROM is free for you to personalize. I'm not in this for the donations (although they're always appreciated ), rather my primary focus is to give you a better Hermes. So, use this base ROM to learn the ROM kitchens then go make your own ExtROM for this to customize Today Screen etc. Simply add a file called preconfig.txt to /windows to enable autoconfig (you'll need to dump a production ROM to unravel the syntax btw) to run your extrom at cold-reset startup. Because Preconfig.txt has been removed, the base rom has no autoconfig and will go directly to the today screen.
Free storage memory remains at about 49MB and free program memory is 29MB. Displayed Today screen items have been reduced and re-ordered in this manner (note: the additional plugins are still present, just unchecked in Today settings):

The installer will also upgrade your splash screens to the Gold HTC Innovation theme. Your Radio, IPL and SPL will remain unchanged. However, for best results I recommend running a radio that's at least 1.40. AT&T subscribers in the US should upgrade to the v1.48.00.00 radio for vastly improved performance.
I'm using OliPro's latest RUU installer in this version and recommend installing using the SSPL option. Vista users: be sure to check out this guide for how to make SSPL installers work on your version of Windows. Or, jcespi2005 reports that with the latest WMDC (v6.1), you can upgrade through CustomRUU normally like in XP. WMDC 6.1 itself can be found here.

Sorry, but there are no fancy today themes, catchy colors or spectacular splashes included in this base ROM. All you get is performance and reliability. Bling is a personal expression, so you're free to add your own.

X-Button requires the latest versions of SPB Weather/SPb Time to correct the "Black Font" issue. The latest version of SPB Weather is v1.7.0 Build 767 and the latest version of SPB Time is v2.1.5.
The softkey editor settings are initially out of sync with the actual softkeys. Additionally, you must SR after the first time you use it to get your changes to stick. After that, the program works normally. This is a HTC bug unfortunately in softkeyapplet.cpl
executables stored on your SD card that don't have their own icons will flicker when viewed with the built in Filemanager. GSFinder+ does not experience this quirk. It's very unusual for a Windows Application to not have an icon resource built in so you will probably not even see this one. If you must see what it is I'm talking about, download powerstatus.exe from here, store it on your SC card then view the directory in filemanager.
Be sure to soft-reset after you complete the initial startup. This will activate HSDPA and initialize your WiFi MAC address.
Howto: Speed up CommManager and free up storage memory.
Use PHMRegedit to search for the value "DisableButtonText". Change this value from a 2 to a 0. Reset your Hermes by pressing and holding the power button then answering yes to the dialog that is eventually displayed. The downside is that you disable the "eye candy" interface too.

TODAY NOT POSSIBLE INSTALL ANOTHER ROM.
Why there are this problem?
I reinstall Hard-SPL-V7 but the problem is THE SAME.
The bootloader is 1.04 and 2.10OLIPRO.

You mean when you autodetect on the bootloader selection screen?
If so its just that activesync hasnt detected the phone, disconnect, soft reset it, let it boot to windows mobile and plug the usb lead in again.. then try again.
Just flashed this one and noticed something strange.. My WiFi MAC has changed.. it isnt missing.. but it is weird and may be an indication of a WiFi MAC bug..
Its now 00-00-00-00-AC-9D which doesnt look like a valid MAC address..
Im gonna try it now and see if its still working.
/edit: It Isnt working, networks all come up as unavailable when I try to connect to them but its not the same issue as the DeadWLAN one as I CAN activate wifi.
hmmm.. seems that the solution is to turn on wifi, then soft reset.. when it comes back up your MAC will be right again and all will be fine.
Strange bug/error? Or just my device playing silly games?

Instead of auto, choose the version of hardspl that you have installed (boot to tri-color to find this)
Flashed again.. this time its changed too: 00-00-00-00-99-E1
powering on WLAN and Soft resetting has returned it too it's proper value.. Seems to be a weird issue where the ROM cant read the correct MAC on first boot.
If you're a ROM flashing addict, nows a good time to own a Hermes!

Because the base imgfs has been changed back to hermes from its previous Universal base, this ROM will also change your device ID if you are upgrading from previous Sleuth ROMs. The device ID will become identical to the official Hermes ROM device ID.

Restore from backup.
If pressing the "Calendar", "New SMS" or "New MMS" softkey displays a not found message then download and install the attached calendarfix.cab to correct. Make sure you choose "Install to Device" if asked.
This rom is based on the DoPod release. Because of this, vp3g's ptt cab will not enable PTT on AT&T networks.

Sleuth, does this ROM also include the updated car kit profile your V2/2.1 ROM had?
I tried to activate the ext. rom in v2.1, but didn't succeed. I did read a lot and tried different rom kitchens but no way I could activate the ext. rom.
Could someone please recook this rom, with activated ext. rom?
I would like to have this, so I can use my RemoteProtect software in a more secure way. After a hardreset everything will be re-installed.

The same HEX editing should be applicable to this release.
Why do you put the Cyberon Dialer? That is one of things I hated about the stock firmware. I am a noob when it comes to build my own firmware package - I actually I never tried and currently don't know how. I would like to use yours if it didn't have the cyberon dialer. Maybe in the future you could have 2 versions one with the dialer and one without?

Primary reason: not licensed with the DoPod base. You have to buy M$ VC software to use it. Including it in a ROM whose base didn't originally contain it would therefore be piracy. Also, the current M$ voice command needs hacks to (almost) properly work with BT headsets.
Cyberon is the licensed voice activated contact dialer & gives you full BT enabled dial functionality.

SSPL avoids the following potential issues:
no hardspl installed
Installer can't autodetect oliPro bootloader version
"I don't know how to boot to tri-color"

im not sure but when i run my intent java in this rom, i get the error message "cannot run target.img.zip" ,i installed a cab of intent java and problem was solved, but the cabe eats up around 5mb ongmy storage

Don't let this hold you back Sleuth did an excellent job - install the ROM and simply add VC cab file with VC WM6 fix cab. But honestly untill M$ will fix their BT brainfart many peope actually prefer Cyberon products.

Yesterday I flashed your rom on my new HTC P3350 and I must say
that you have done very good work (essential and good loking).
This is first rom I flashed (my phone arrived 3 day ago and I didn't like
wm5 on board).
However I had problem with cid unlocking, but retrying a second time it
went ok, meanwhile installing your rom was done without problems.
This evening I will install your next release (1.2). Must I have particular
attentions? Is it sufficient 1) Re-cid unlocking 2) Flashing your new release?
Yesterday I accidentally eliminated the rom's desktop link to the
CommManager (the first icon on the quick start's group) and trying to
restore the link I did't found the program in the list of avaible program.
Do you know how to do? However CommManager.exe is well located in windows path.
Using your rom I found a program to quick fix gps signal. May it be of
any use for me (P3350 doesn't has gps) having external bluetooth gps?
..I had never seen before this program.

Problem downloading Rom v.1.2

I am having problem downloading your rom (from http://files-upload.com/),
because every attempt to download it, end up before the 50%.
You should change server or add it also on another server.
Last but not least, before upload it, you should pack it in .zip or .rar format,
so that, if the file is incompletely downloaded (as in my case) or
partially damaged, unpacking it may help discovering the problem (thanks to
crc check done by unpacker), avoiding flashing a damaged rom.

This is becouse there isn't a link to the program, but only a registry key, rewrite this key:

I think using an external receiver is the same, this program download "Ephemeris", data important to align correctly satellites and receivers

You are right, but I've done this ROM thinking to my use, programs installed are very used by me...
To leave you customize the rom like you wont, I've build it using very logical criteria (folders and .rgu visible)...

Tadam, here it is, the long awaited (vaporware ? ), KisS20.5 rom. It might not bring you everything you expected, nor will it turn your ks20 into a brand new touch hd or whatever, but I think it's a bit better than KisS20.4.
As you've all waited for a long time, I'm also releasing a beta KisS20.x, work in progress on wm6.5 builds.
But, first, thanks to everyone who helped me building this rom here on xda and on Forum Mobiles, and special thanks to misterJP whose great work made all this possible.

The philosophy behind this ROM is to have a small/optimized OS that could be easily personnalized. That's why I've only included small apps that don't evolve so much. Thanks to Preset Installer compliancy, all you have to do is to follow this tutorial to have your favorite apps automatically installed at first boot (you can choose for the apps you want, you're not forced to install everything). For those who prefer a zero effort Out Of the Box Experience, I'm also providing my own PI Package (it needs more work, but it's a good start). If you build one and want to share (only free apps, please), contact me and I'll update this post.
This rom is almost clean and most of the personalization stuff are in PI package, so if you want to do it by yourself, just don't install it.
I hope it's stable for everybody, if no bugs are found, I'll make localized builds. I'm still working on graphic driver replacement, but it's more complicated than I 1st thought, due to the fact that ks20 underlying drivers are built for wm6.0 and not wm6.1 (drivers architecture changed a bit, which makes almost any driver replacement break some dependancies)
For those who ask why flashing this rom over their stock lg rom :
::More speed (thanks to lots of optimizations)

What I didn't do :
* Didn't fix the gsm reload and backup battery bugs on recent builds. It doesn't impact KisS20.5 and has a low impact on KisS20.X build)
* Didn't include Extendir because it takes almost 10mb of ram, and there are still a few bugs (incompatibilities with some .net apps). As soon as it's good for our device (this shouldn't be long), I might update the rom to include it.
* Didn't include NetCF3.7 because it's a beta that has some compatibility issues (and don't include directx support).
* Didn't make a LZX version : need to do some tests to be sure it doesn't impact performance (doesn't seem it does, but I prefer to be sure). Anyway, it's not very useful as we wouldn't gain any program memory until someone () fixes the tools used to rebuild the rom.

VOIP still doesn't work (not a real bug though, as it doesn't work either in official LG rom)
KisS20.5 : to have battery display in taskbar -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock=0
KisS20.X suffers from gsm reload (shouldn't be a real problem), "backup battery very low" popup when battery is fully charged (both are due to drivers incompatibilities). There are also some issues directly related to wm6.5 build (each build has its owns bugs). No, 21234 "final build" is not bug free, it's more an "api freeze", so I guess the best is to use recent builds and hope upcoming builds will fix more bugs than they will add . If you only have 1 icon in start menu (the today icon), restart your phone and try to wait a few seconds more before entering your sim code.
Depending on the feedback I have, I may release a small rom update to fix possible bugs. If you don't want to flash twice in a week, you might want to wait a few days before flashing to be sure it's stable.
Upgrade Instructions:
THIS ROM IS ONLY TARGETED TO UNBRANDED PHONES.
If you have a branded phone, make a backup of your nv2 using LGMDP and then unbrand your nv2 using one of the tools present in "NV TOOLS" folder (both should work)(don't worry, you can do the opposite operation anytime you want). If you have any question, ask here. Flash to 20.4 or other unbranded rom and restore your newly unbranded nv2 (with LGMDP connected in normal mode)
READ CAREFULLY THE ABOVE LINE PLEASE
OK, ONCE AGAIN, JUST TO BE SURE.
If you want to use Preset Installer pack, it's time to unpack it to your sdcard
Connect Ks20 to LgMdp in Emergency mode as described here (or use the tutorial/drivers/software pack from ibanezman192 located in post 3)
Choose "Select Image", then click on "Original" button
On the first line, select the folder where you expanded the rom. Following lines should be filled automatically
Click on start and go drink some beer
When flash is finished (in approximately 10min), if you're using preset installer, it will prompt automatically so that you choose the cabs you want to install. When it's finished, reboot your phone and start using it

This rom is a work in progress on wm6.5 and still has the few famous bugs. Although this generally doesn't prevent a normal use, if you absolutely need a stable rom (for work or whatever) or plan to use an Ui replacement (SPB, Manila...) which makes titanium useless, I suggest you to use the wm6.1 KisS20.5 until we manage to fix those annoying bugs (it might be a little bit faster, and use 5Mb less ram).

Does this rom feature the connection configurator tool from the 1.0f unbranded French rom ? This tool is very useful in configurating the data settings for us and allowing us to swap from an operator to another easely when we have several sim cards.

I've got a message "trying to communicate with the phone" during flash and nothing else happens.
Try this.
My Wifi disappears sometimes in connection manager
Wifi driver is initiated during the boot, if it's not visible in connection manager (and the blue led blinks every 2 secs or so, just reboot your phone, that should fix it). The other reason wifi driver disappears is when you're connected to your pc through activesync. As soon as your disconnect, it's enabled again.
What's needed to build a rom for any language ?
Windows mobile comes into multiple packages (os, phone, office, shell, voip....) containing the programs. Most of these packages have a brother package containing the resources for a specific language (office_0409, phone_0409)...
OEM drivers made by lg also come into packages (oem_drivers, oem_bt...) and some of these packages have a brother package for the specific language (oem_bt_0409...)
To translate a rom, I need the packages for the related language (oem and wm).
Getting the packages for OEM is not difficult as I just need to unpack an official ks20 rom of the right language to get them. (so it means that this particular rom has to be downloaded somewhere on the web). But it takes some time to do it, so it's better if you give me just what I need (the whole oem folder is good). For that, just get my kitchen and follow the steps until you have an oem folder.
Getting packages for WM is more difficult because I can't take those from ks20 official rom as they are wm6.0 version and some don't contain everything needed. So I need to have the packages from a wm6.1 version. Just giving me a link to an HTC (or whatever) rom for this language is not sufficient because it would require me to find myself a way to extract this particular rom (if it's not protected, can be extracted and can be rebuilt) which takes time. So what I need is an archive containing packages, so that I don't spend multiple hours try to find how to get them. There are 2 ways to get them :
* get a rom for this language from any device, get a kitchen to extract the rom, extract it, rebuild packages, give me any 0409, 0408 or whatever packages it contains (be careful, I need packages, not only files whose name contain 040x).
* ask somebody who made a rom for this language to give you his packages.
Of course, I need the biggest number of packages you can find (for exemple, I include office in my roms, so if you find packages, but not the one for office, the rom won't be constructed correctly, when I'll do it, or it would need to be constructed without this specific package, which means it may show bugs not present on english/french roms, something I don't want to do.). A soon as I get all the packages I need, I should be able to construct a KisS20 rom for this language.
Please note that for wm6.5, I'll need wm6.5 packages, not wm6.1 (in wm6.5, many things have changed and some packages were added, so using packages from a 6.1 rom surely won't work).

Is it the one from the French rom ? the one from the HK rom has HK operator profiles, while the one from the French rom has the French ones, (such as Orange, SFR, etc etc)
As I've taken localisation files from the 10f branded, I guess profile information is empty. I'll check and update rom tonight if necessary.

Maybe add a better (Touch-like) dialer, FTouchFlo and support for microSDHC cards?
Also, add a drop-down task manager in the upper right corner (don't if that's what you call Task Manager, though).
Finally, I personally like iContact better, as it starts faster than PocketCM

As for user customization, it'll be up to you. Next rom will be UC compliant so I'm only working on os files/drivers with only a few tools embedded.

As their name says, FR version is in FRench and WWE version is in World Wide English.
I successfully flashed and tested the Franch branded rom and there are a few issues (beside the camera)
- Contacts are broken, impossible to browse and add contacts using the contacts menu on this rom (installing pocket contact manager partially fixes this issue)
- No profile selector, not everyone uses crappy vodaphone live and SFR operator. (this can be fixed by manually entering the settings but it is annoying to do so, especially on a rom that is supposed to be unbranded)
- Only partially compatible with CE-Star which is a REAL disadvantage for people using their phone to read/write chinese and japanese texts.
There are real improvemments though
- The rom seems more stable
- The rom runs much faster
- The rom boots faster.
If it was not for the contacts issue I would have kept this rom, but contacts menu is just a must have on any phones.
Also the unworking camera is a big issue but I can leave with it.

There's a tool called Autoprofile.exe in windows directory and I put a bunch of xml files for operator selection. Start menu shortcut is missing though. It'll be there in next release. Is this what you were talking about or is this something else ?

Could you please tell me more about this ? What do you mean by "partially compatible" ? Are other WM6.1 roms for htc phones supporting this completely ? If so, do you know how or what I should do to test (I don't speak chinese or japanese) ?

sorry for my absence since quite a few weeks now..
I post to tell you I won't make anymore updates of my ROM. My Ks20's microphone died after almost 2 years of loyal service...(RIP my good old friend and thanx for the fun we had together!!!)....so I got a new phone.
Anyway, Arthemus, apart from the great ROMs he does, did a very good job too with his cooking class that I strongly recommand you to have a look at. Anyone of you can now learn how to cook by himself.
One last word, thanks to all of you who tried my ROMS and appreciated my work.

Hi everyone,
I've managed to port WM 6.5 to LGKS20. It's WWE and works with unbranded KS20. The workaround for branded Ks20 to use my rom is to unbrand your branded nv2. This done, you'll have to flash in emergency mode leaving the "none" option as it is in LGDMP (do not choose erase EFS).

To go back to your original ROM (10B,C...,Kiss 20..), Right after first start, use "Windiag.cab" to enable windiag. Then soft reset the phone. Now you can use the engineer menu 2676625720# and flash in normal mode if necessary.

-3.click on the "SDAutoRun shortcut" in Start Menu > System
-4.when procdure is done, Soft Reset your phone.
Tips:
- To see pictures located on SD card directly from Titanium menu, put them in a folder entitled "DCIM".
- to uncheck titanium go to Start>settings>today>items and uncheck "windows default".
Good news:
- Camera 100% working
- SDHC support

How to use Extendir:
- Unzip ExtendirRomFilesPreset_WWE_FR.7z onto your SD Card
- Then run PresetInstaller.exe from your SD Card\Extendir
- I advise you to, at least, choose one of the 2 FB PRESETs I made in order to install Adobe flash, Office, One note, windiag.

I set the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:1 to 0
"ext"="LgePhoneExt.dll"
with this setting you can't make video calls anymore, but it makes the GSM reload much faster (from 8-9 sec to 2-3 sec)
*GSM signal disconnect problem

Those looking for a quite stable ROM should stick to branch COM 3 (latest 23092)
What's new:

(No noticeable UI changes,n so can't really tell what's different from previous 28011)

Testing it. One thing. Are you trying to solve the gsm driver problem or this is unrepairable??
Nothing taken from Pham's rom in this build. I think he hasn't even released a 21500 build yet.
Concerning the GSM driver Spocky had this issue in his Kiss and located it inside the SYS>shell folder. At the time he managed to isolate three elements and got them fixed.
Trying to get in touch with him to know more about this.

More problems
Either you say the battery problem is fixed, it's not fixed. I recieve multiple messages about critically low battery meter though i have it fully charged...And my battery lasts for 10 hours after full charging with this rom. However this one is the best wm6.5 rom till now for ks20... Keep up the good work.
This is not fixed but the battery draining speed isnot monstrous like in pham v03
can anyone confirm this: Battery warning message happens only when phone's fully charged and plugged.
Because no warning message for me this morning after leaving the phone without charging it during the night.
It is not always the case but it happens more often in effect
is there any chance to change the language to german? i've heared that wm6.5 is multilanguage, but where can i change it
well as soon as other languages appear on other devices running WM6.5, it will be ported. but for now it's only english and chineese. Simply porting the language part and dpi related to it from a WM6.1 didn't work for me.
The oggy team made it with 040C but won't share much about how to. If anyone knows the trick i'd be happy to learn.
By the way over 40 people downloaded the ROM, it'll be very helpful to have some feedback on how it works for you.

if your mobile is a branded ks20 with an branded rom you should
1.unbrand your nv2
2.install kiss20.4 unbranded and select your unbranded nv2 (select it as default nv2 in LGDMP) or restore it after installing kiss20.4 unbranded
3.install fara rom wm 6.5 in emeregency mode without erase EFS leave it "none"
and if your mobile is unbranded ks20 just the step 3

yes the battery warning happen when the device is fully charged (plugged or not i'll verify now)
