I just downloaded uConvert and was shocked to see that it is actually a Flash Lite application.
I checked the Wiki and couldn't find any informations about that.
How could I create Applications using Flash lite?
I tried different things in Adobe Flash CS3 pro but the template only create .swf files and the related html file when I would like to create an .exe file.
I ticked the box that usually exports to .exe but that application doesnt' seem to be recognised by Windows Mobile so I am guessing this is only for Windows Desktop
Any idea? Websites? links?
I did a google search and couldn't find anything interesting, just links to unrelated informations and 3 years old Adobe pages talking about Winmo 2003
Flash Lite is an implementation of the Flash runtime for mobile phones, consumer electronic devices, and Internet-connected digital home devices. You can use this for creating application.
Okay here's an overview:
The Flash content must be in the Flash Lite 3.1 format, published as a .SWF
You can package the .SWF together with related resources and an icon using the Adobe Mobile Packager (now discontinued but you can find it on Google)
When a user installs your application in a supported country, the necessary Flash Lite player will be installed automatically (only available in some countries on a small range of devices due to Adobe discontinuing it), otherwise they can install the Flash Lite 3.1 Distributable Player manually
The Flash Lite 3.1 Distributable Player does not allow you to view Flash content on the web and it will not affect any existing installations of different Flash Lite versions
The packager will package your Flash Lite application into a native .CAB (Windows Mobile) or .SIS (Symbian S60) installer. When the user installs this it will automatically create start-menu shortcuts to your program
The situtation is somewhat odd compared to several months ago due to Adobe's change in priorities regarding Flash. At the time of release of the Adobe program the applications created this way did meet Windows Marketplace guidelines; I am not so sure at the moment due to Adobe discontinuing the packager, I'm trying to find out from MS.
Flash Lite 3.1 has most of the features in Flash 8, including much better performance over Flash 7 and Flash Lite 2.1.
could someone point me at a working link to download Adobe Mobile Packager ? I found one version but AVG detected a virus on it. (win32/heur)

Has anyone tried the Windows Mobile 6 SDK
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3A-A651-4745-88EF-3D48091A390B&displaylang=en
Have yet to download it myself, but I believed with this and the KITL mode we could compile a new crossbow rom? Maybe we could then use this core in the XDA-Live version?
Maybe anyone who knows about this stuff can give his reaction, I'm just thinking out loud.
man, d/l speed is slow.
I think you will find that the SDK is only for developing applications that run within the OS, not for creating images of the OS. This was the case for the mobile 5 sdk it allows developers to use the new cf.net framework. The 6 SDK includes the new namespaces including the updated system namespace and the new xbox namespace, as well as the new emulators.
Hello,
I need a tool to decompresses a Chinese AC3 font(font file with extension .ac3, such as sunfon.ac3 ) to ttf(ttc) font, so i can use ttf(ttc) font tool to edit it!Thanks!
I am finding a tools that can compress TTF/TTC font to AC3! TKS!
And I need a tool to compresses a Japanese TTF/TTC font(font file with extension .ttf or .ttc, such as YOzR04S_.TTF or msgothic.ttc ) to AC3 font, so i can convert latest version of MS Gothic/MS PGothic/MS UI Gothic TTC from Windows Vista to AC3 so I can put it into my own WM6 ROM kitchen! Thanks!
(Sorry for plagiarizing your initial words.)
I tried to contact Monotype (the creator of the AC3 font compression technology) to see if they had a TTF/TTC to AC3 compressor for sale; no response. I posted my request/inquiry on the MSDN Forum (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3143857&SiteID=1), and instead I got a stupid response from the moderator stating that the inquiry was off-topic and that I had to post it on the Windows Mobile Forum. I did so (https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3774818&SiteID=65), and the only response I got was that I would get a quicker response if I posted it on MSDN Forum (but if I do so again, it'll be again marked off-topic and would issue a potential user-banning flag to the moderator there). So, both Microsoft forums are right now useless to discuss TTF/TTC to AC3 conversion.

Hey, I couldn't find any tool for decompressing an AC3 font to TTC/TTF, but I just downloaded the evaluation version of Windows CE 5.0 Platform Builder and found that it includes already-decompressed TTC and TTF fonts, including SC_Song (sunfon.ttf, the uncompressed version of sunfon.ac3). So, there are no AC3-to-TTF(C) decompressors available (as far as I know; Google returns nothing except Dolby AC3 codecs which are a completely different topic), but if you just need a decompressed font to edit it, then you'll want to check WinCE 5.0 Platform Builder below; the TTC and TTF files you want are already included in the Platform Builder.
You can download Windows CE 5.0 Platform Builder Evaluation Version (120-day trial) online-setup bootstrapper at http://www.microsoft.com/DownLoads/...50-D311-4F67-9FB3-23E8B8944F3E&displaylang=en
Note that you will need Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed before running setup, and if you have Windows Vista, you'll have to do this to install .NET Framework 1.1: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003100
The WinCE 5.0 setup.exe you download from the Microsoft link above will ask you what components you want to install (i.e., choose only ARM architecture, MIPS, x86, ARM+x86, or all architectures) and it will download you only those components you chose (there is no downloadable/redistributable full installer, although you can order a DVD which has the full installer but that would be both a waste of money and a waste of resources because you will only need ARM architecture files since almost all WinMo PPCs are ARM-based). Once all your chosen components have been downloaded to some folder in your C:\ drive, you'll find the fonts inside a "Public" subfolder; you can use Windows Search to find *.ttc or *.ac3 inside that subfolder.
Hi,
I'm currently cooking a rom and I managed to replace the 9.5 opera thats included in the 2.03 WWE Official with the 9.7 beta. This works as expected, however clicking the globe in the internet tab doesnt boot the browser. I guess this is due to its install location or executable name.
Is there any (currenty known) way to change this?
copy some files to Windows folder..
1. Installed Opera Mobile 0.7 Beta
2. Copy 2 files(\Program Files\OperaL.exe & opera9-ml.exe) to Windows folder
3. Change path to "\Windows\OperaL.exe" in shortcut(\Windows\Opera.lnk)
I have created a cab for HTC YouTube Application version 2.6.20111727.00 from latest Touch Pro 2 build but when i try to install it i get the message installation was unsuccessfull. Why is that? I created the cab using WinCE CAB Manager.

maybe it needs certs to be installed.
And how can i do that?
Got the same problem and i have certs installed.
I'm having the same problem creating a CAB for my WM6.1 ROM.
The main reason why I want this v2.6.x version to work is that it starts YouTube movies right after you hit a link inside Opera. The 2.5 version CAB does work on my TouchPro2 but does not open the YouTube link. Instead it opens the program and I have to search for a video to view it.
What did I find out so far?
The following file causes the install problem: ProtocolHandler.dll
After you remove this file from the CAB it installs just fine. But the program still doesn't run on my device.
I manually imported all retificates and when I try to start YouTube it shows: " 'YouTube' is not a valid Pocket PC application."
I copied the files myself to the phone memory and imported the registry entries but when i tried to open the *.exe i got the same message.
Where did you find the version 2.5 cab?
I created it myself as it is part of the User Customization of my Cosmik Debris ROM.
Could you upload it?
Here you go....
How can i sign the YouTube.exe with another certificate or none for that matter? Or how can i import HTC certificate?
On 2.6 I used the .CER files from a Kitchen I use. I justed put them on my device and opened them using TotalCommander.
For 2.5 this probably is not nescacary for me since the files are from the Kitchen I use for my ROM. I do have to say that I only use optimized CAB's that work with my Cosmik Derbis ROM. Reason is that my ROM is compressed and stript from a lot of stuff I never use. Therefore I can not guarantee that the CAB wil work on other WVGA devices.
Is this a right place for youtube application, XPERIA X1 ROM Development !!??
No it's not...
How can I open a special YouTube video (with url) with the original HTC YouTube Player 2.6? What is the url parameter? How can I add the "?v=xxx" parameter to the player?
I used a program called Unsigner (and batchUnsign) to remove the certificates from all files but i still get the message:
''The file 'YouTube' cannot be opened.
Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate,
or one of its components cannot be found.
If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.''
So i believe that something is missing from my ROM.
Are any other files needed?

Instructions for offline installation:
There are 2 ways to install.
1. Automatic:
By double clicking the CTP.exe file.
2. Manual:
By Extracting CTP.exe file to a folder, and copy the entire folder present in [CopyToTemp] folder to this path
Vista/7: "C:\Users\{Your User}\AppData\Local\Temp"

After copying finishes, run vm_web.exe.
And you're done.
Is this all 64 bit stuff?
Thanks a lot, very usefull, many many thanks
Yes, ofcourse it contains all 64 bit stuff.
Why are you repacking and reuploading Microsofts software, rather than providing direct links to their (much faster) mirrors?
So how about we provide the real link to the developer tool: Windows Phone Developer Tools CTP - April Refresh. I also recommend downloading Expression Blend 4 RC and the Expression Blend Add-in for Windows Phone 7
Official Microsoft links, fast mirrors, no reupload to sites where the OP get paid every time someone downloads.
