My tp2 just came back from repair and when I powered on the device HTC had loaded a New ROM onto it with what look likes Sense 2.5, has anybody else experienced this and does anybody know if the sense 2.5 tweak will work on this version.
BTW, how can I check what version of the Sense UI this is.

you can check by going to: all settings, system, device informtaion, software information and it is under manila version

and the ROM version is 2.07.401.1
This ROM was released a couple of weeks ago. Everyone rejoices that Sense2.5 is now officially supported on Rhodium!
Been using it for a day now and at times manila runs really slowly or the phone crashes and I cant get into any of the manila programs, or back to the home screen. Does anybody know of any tweaks could use to prevent it from slowing down and crashing.
Also are there good home screen task manager seeing as HTC have taken the previous one off.

You could try and download TD2 tools, and increase page filing and such. It increases performance on my stock AT&T ROM. Also, can someone point me in the right direction as to where to download the ROM that you all are talking about, the one with sense 2.5. I'd like the stock 2.5 ROM over a custom one. Thanks alot.

so yeah, I can't find out what version of manila or sense or touchflo3d I have..All I know is I'm running a stock WinMO 6.5 Pro T-Mobile rom w/ very little tweaks. I want to understand what I have on it..
I have Rom: 1.91.531.4 (74508) WWE dated 12/15/09..I find that under Device Information..I have nothing that says software information.

This page will tell you what you have, but unfortunatly it dosent have any information on what version of manila came with it i assuming that it would have been 2.1 as that is the version that was shipped with my original ROM.

1 more question, what actually they mean by rom?
i'm new user, quite not familiar with the word.
ROM stands for read only memory. Basically your phone will have come with the Stock ROM (Windows 6.1) but its like a basic version. Now because HTC and the phone companies like Orange, O2 etc are not that forthcoming with updates etc due to new phones being constantly announced, there are some really clever people on here who have taken either Windows 6.1 or the newer 6.5 and made if you will, custom ROM's.
I was quite confused as to how to update to these new ROM's with their being so many of them but its an easy process once you get the hang of it. I have tried about 3 different 6.5 Roms, and at the moment have gone back to Dutty's 3.9 XT which is a 6.1 rom.
Windows Mobile is so customizable, and thats what these Chefs (Rom creators) are doing. Check out the ROM's from Dutty, Miri, NRG etc they have all done fantastic jobs.

Well I don't have any troubles but there is always some bugs since most of the roms are not stable yet since (as far as I know) neither windows mobile 6.5 or htc sense is completed. When they're updated rom cooks update their roms also so when you start flashing you might want to flash new one when cooks release it, but you don't have to of course. But I started flashing roms one day after I bought my Blackstone.
The screenshots are from NRGZ28's energy rom photon with manila 2.5. I haven't use Miri's rom but I can suggest you NRGZ28's.
Also you'll need to read Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] carefully. Good luck and have fun with new roms

I have never flashed my Touch HD with any roms before, so i was wondering would i lose my operator details with O2 if i did flash with a new rom.. I would be grateful if someone could help me

Is that possible? Can I upgrade my Sense UI from 2.1 to 2.5 without flashing a new ROM?
All I want to do is get the HTC Home weather to update more often that every 3 hours, and I'm reading that you have options to set the update interval in Sense 2.5. So rather than pick a whole new ROM (I'm currently using the Energy ROM v.23504 - think it's the Photon one), can I just upgrade Sense somehow?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

No.
im sure most of manilla files can't be overwritten, therefor they need to be cooked in the rom. we're talking about literally thousands of files.

This is interesting. I'm curious if it is possible to upgrade/patch the same verison of Manilla/Sense with a newer build.
I am currently running Manilla/Sense 2.5 v192XX but would like to upgrade to at least v20XXX or v23XXX but all responses are too vague to confirm if it is possible to upgrade the version of Manilla/Sense.

If you have a stock 6.5 version you also have sense 2.1. manila is what sense is based on i.e. Sense is made up of manila files.
Sense is the new TF3D, chronologically it went TF3D on the touch pro.. then TF3D2 then onto Sense 2.1 on the touch pro2.
Custom ROMs have been made using the new LEO interface Sense 2.5.

what you need to do is edit the specific manila files for what you are trying to do, there are some programs that have been developed that will help, like CFC gui for the clock

It took me a while to figure it out but I found it by accident in the registry.
HKLM\Software\Manila\Version
If you don't have a registry editor PHM and Total Commander are both good.

Searching for a WM 6.5+ Version with originap TP2 2.1 Sense.
I DON'T want it to have a SINGLE visual mod or anything else additional on it. As close to the original as possible just with speed modification (if such roms exist ^^)

NRG has 2.1 sense version of 21xx and 23xx however its heavy on graphical mods.
try stock roms i believe they are 6.5 with 2.1
Can't figure out those stock roms. Different langs, different carriers... where do I get a standard english gsm version (and unlocked) and I'd be happy to try.

The RUU_Rhodium_S_HTC_Europe_1.86.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.17_Signed_Ship.exe listed here is an English (WWE) WM6.5 with Manila 2.1.
What are the S2 (2.07..) versions? 2.5?

Yeah, 2.07... is with Sense 2.5. That being said, did you want the Manila 2.1 (black and white tab icons etc) or Sense 2.1 (coloured icons)?

I just got a TP2 and it has Manila 1.9 on it still. I'd like to upgrade to version 2.5 but don't want to mess anything up. Can I just install 2.5 or do I have to work my way up to it? Any help would be appreciated, as well as a link to the version or versions I have to use...

I'm sure you have Manila 2.0 (TouchFlo3D) on it. TP2s were shipped with either Manila 2.0 or Manila 2.1.
You can just install a custom ROM that contains Manila/Sense 2.5.
You'll first need to do HardSPL and choose a custom ROM.
If you got your TP2 from Sprint or Verizon, you have a CDMA variant, and you'll need to go to the CDMA TP2 sub-forum OR PPCGeeks.com for these resources.
Otherwise, you have a GSM TP2, and you can get instructions, HardSPL, and custom ROMs from the regular TP2 ROM Development sub-forum here at XDA.
