Battery Problem Please help - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

When my battery is charging it stays at w/e percentage it was before I started charging it. Example: It was at 60%, I start charging. Hour later, still at 60%.
But when I remove the usb or check the battery status, it says the actual percentage it's at. IE 100%. Is their any fix for this? It's really bugging me.

Are you running a stock or cooked ROM? What other third part apps do you have installed?

I'm using a cooked rom, only apps I've installed was marketplace and myspace. And the 1% battery increment.

Well, the 1% battery does have issues with some ROMs. Try uninstalling that, soft reset and see if you have the same problem.

Well it's almost 5am, I uninstalled it, gonna report back tomorrow.

Ok I uninstalled the %1 increment, still didn't work. I reinstalled it, still doesn't work. All it does is when it's charging just show the percentage of what the bat life was before I started charging. And it doesn't show the charging icon, dunno if it is supposed to or not.

Battery problems help...

I have ViperX 2.7.0 rom with the stock kernal.
I fully charged, then fully discharged, then fully charged again! I then re-set battery stats anyways.
I took it off charge this morning, was draining a little fast. Was around 85%, I turned it on then off. and bam within like 10 seconds it's down to 40%...
And it's still draining.
Thoughts?
check your battery stats, is there a precipitant drop suddenly?
try disable mobile data and wifi and see if that changes anything.

In my battery stats.
It powers off, then the gap is blank... THen it starts again halfway down the graph.
okay, That is a precipitate drop.
I am not an expert on this, but before the expert jumping in. I would suggest some experiments
1. if your battery is not empty, use power control widget to turn off mobile data and wifi, let it sit for a hr or two and see if battery drains, and how much. If there is little battery drain, then the background app and data transfer may be the problem for your bad battery drain.
2. charge it to 100%, when it reaches 100%, turn it off and charge for another 15 minutes, turn it on and use it, see if another precipitate drop occur, and if yes, see if they occur at roughly same battery level. I would think if it occurs every time, it may be a hardware problem.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't have bad drain before this drop.
It's on charge now (from the drop) Going to leave it and see what happens.
install watchdog https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS56b211dC53YXRjaGRvZ2xpdGUiXQ.. to monitor the culprit.
also did you install any new app/game lately, that may be causing problem... i had a similar issue and then i uninstalled the app and all was good...

[Q] Jellytime ROM on DHD - battery drain

How much does your Jellytime ROM drain from battery? Using battery e.g. Battery monitor widget, I can see 60mA drain when phone is standby. Seems to be a lot for me. I didn't find comparsion just subjective claims - high/low drain. 60mA is with wifi turned off, bt disables, no gprs/3g data, just standby. No application seems to be running. Battery stat shows that 60 % is display (but I can confirm that display is off), 40 % cell stand by and about the same amount phone idle.
You can try BetterBatteryStats to check what might be draining your battery (if any).

Thanks, I will try it. So far I was using Battery Monitor apk. However, I have no reference if my battery drain level is expected for that rom or not.
I'm also having issues with battery drain on JT... really strange. It seems to have drain when in standby, and when the screen is on it goes like crazy, I can't get more than like 20-30 minutes of screen-on time. I really like this ROM, it is pretty stable and works fine, no major bugs but the battery drain is crazy. I took a couple of screenshots. It seems that process Media is keeping it "awake" and causing battery drain. In all other ROMs I used (and in stock) I have never seen any other process except SCREEN using more than couple of percent of battery. Now this media process is using almost as screen! Any clues as what it is?
Also, I noticed that it discharges quickly when screen is on, but it also charges quickly! Something wrong with battery stats? It simply can't go from 20% to 70% in 10 minutes while charging?

Hmm, could you provide mA value (battery monitor shows it in history in 10 minutes intervals..)
I can do five hours with normal use on a full charge..
These are battery stats for my DHD. The first one is standby over night with stok HTC ROM (2.3.5), the second one is with JellyTime ROM 9.1. It takes 10times more power.

That's not much. Was it better as long as you can remember with stock HTC ROM? I could do 2-3 days with normal use with stock ROM.

Yes, but my cost for 2-3 days is: no gsm data, no wifi (or wifi for something like 5 minutes), no widgets except htc clock & weather, almost no background apps, few phone calls, moderate number of sms. (Yes I hear you saying, you don't need 'smart' phone , I do, I use some apps but not too frequently, so avg running time from 100% to say 10% of battery was 2-3 days, mainly depending on number of sms sent
I had it charged to 100%. Then I kept it charging, went to recovery and deleted battery stats. I booted and when it displayed lock screen I unplugged. Then I played for like 10 minutes (screen on) and my battery went from 100% to 88% !!! A bit too much? I installed betterbatterystats so I hope I'll see which process keeps it awake (there's drain even when screen off)...

Thanx for the tip, I'll try installing the app you suggest. "Played" means I turned the screens on louncher a couple of times to update all widgets, went into settings, looked at the battery stats etc. Maybe lounched foursquare and titanium backup, nothing really intensive... yes media service seems to be suspicious. It says, the phone was in deep sleep only half an hour for last hour while screen on was really only for about 10 minutes. I think the problem is in remaining time. I am not really familiar with bbs logs, maybe post the log into BBS thread here on XDA for help if you cannot figure it yourself.

There is no need for wiping battery stats.
Once your phone recharges to 100%, battery stats reset by default.

Ok, I figured out, what is causing high battery drain. It FM radio. After clean flash and basic setup, it consumes 10mA when standby. Which is twice more than with stock ROM, but seems to be acceptable. If I run and then exit Sprite FM radio app, phone starts to consume 60mA until reboot. After reboot, it is ok, until I run Sprite FM app again.
However, BBS does not show anything useful. Maybe because of FM HW keeps running? There is shown no SW battery eater..
I still can't figure it out Here's log of consumptuon in standby from last night, I have it set on profile manager to turn off data and set airplane mode from 1am-7am. Looks good to me, can someone confirm these are OK values?

this is expected consumption, with stock HTC ROM I got -3 - -5mA, but -7mA is pretty good. With R10 I got -10mA, don't know why it does sleep less than it should.
Code:
2012/09/24|06:46:44|-210mA|53%|3740mV|21.0ºC|.0|0

what happened here? -264mA is a lot of power consumption, do you remember what did you do? Common usage should be around -100mA.

[Q]Battery acting weird

My phone was all fine, till i flashed Arco's CM10, then my phone started randomly switching off. When started, it showed 0% battery, which was weird as it was always properly charged.
Then i restored my CM9 backup, to check if it was a ROM bug, but I got the same error again.
Attached screenshot for battery stats. Battery problem or Software bug ? Anyone with same bug ?
After flashing the ROM, did you wipe battery stats? If not, that will probably be the cause of the weird readings......
Basically, over time, your phone would have calibrated the battery usage to your previous ROM....when you installed your new ROM (that has different battery usage patterns) your phone is still trying to apply the stats from the old ROM which is what is causing the problems.....wipe your battery stats then complete 3 or 4 full charge - full discharge cycles, and things *should* settle down....
From my Galaxy W on CM9 and CWM6 with Tapatalk 2
Tried that...
But it gets weirder and weirder :/

Try the battery calibrator on the playstore.
If it still persist then the problem is in your battery.. suggest you change the battery with the new one
Pressing "Thanks" button will be much appreciated if user's posts useful for you
Or you can try this:
Clear battery stats via CWM. Turn off your phone, and charge it. Wait until the charge indicator shows up on screen. Then turn on your phone and leave it until it's full.
Sometimes when I get batt weird reading, that trick works for me.
In some occasion I found that offline charging and online charging shows different battery level.

Just like reddvilzz said above. After charge indicator shows up on screen, turn on your phone (but do not unplug the charge) and leave it until it's full.

[Q] Unexpected shutdown when battery is low

Recently my N7(2013) will shut itself down when the battery is low (about 10%) without any warnings, not even the "Shutting Down" dialog that it should show whenever it shuts downs (except for the usual low batt warning when it reaches 15%). After the shutdown, I cant even turn it back on not even the screen, nor the low batt (waiting for charger) screen is showing up until I plug it into a power source the it will show the charging screen and then I can turn it on again.
Its been a few times now, not sure its a hardware or software problem though. It shouldnt shut down when it still has 10% in it right?
Attached is the screenshot of the Battery Usage that shows the battery level shots down to 0% immediately from 10%.

Nah I don't trust these apps so I don't use them. Moreover I'm did not root it so even if I use them they shouldnt have the permission to shut it down
Simple fix
It is an issue I have suffered with a couple of times and it appears we are not alone. It seems that the battery calibration is out of whack. When you charge your nexus up does it stay at 100% for quite a while? I
tried factory data resets amongst other things and nothing worked. I stumbled across a thread with a really simple fix. Turn your tablet off for 2 hours. Then turn it on again. Mine miraculously lost 26% of battery in that time (from 100% where it had been for 8 hours down to 74%). Then it started to use the battery at a normal rate. Working fine now.

Any idea how to calibrate it
I ve tried many apps from play store and no results
And i even tried the hard way by pressing the 3 buttons while the phone is off olso no luck

Calibrating the battery on Android devices
Method for rooted devices:
1. Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
2. Turn it on and let it turn off again.
3. Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
4. Unplug your charger.
5. Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on the screen as well.
6. Unplug your phone and reboot. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
7. You want to repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without being plugged in.
8. Now, install the Battery Calibration app attached below and, before you launch it, make sure your battery is at 100 percent again, then reboot.
9. Immediately launch the app and recalibrate your battery stats.
10. Once you've calibrated your battery, discharge it all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
11. Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption while it's switched off, and the Android system's battery percentage will be reset.
Note that all the app does is wipe the accumulated data from the batterystats.bin file giving you a new clean slate to work with. This method is also called, "training the battery" and should be performed infrequently. Maybe once every four months or so.

I ll give it a try
I would also note that this would be good to do right before installing a battery monitor app like Gsam or BBS. :good:

I haven't calibrated mine in a long time. Getting ready to do it right now.
