Since your question has already been answered, I will not put it in the Q&A thread. However, (and for future reference), please ask all your questions there. Do not open a new thread simply to ask something. Opening new threads should be done to contribute to the site (apps, roms, kitchens, tips, fixes, skins, etc). Thanks.

HTC p3300/Artemis Roms (Upgrades & Cooked Roms)

Hello Everybody,
Made this thread so that there be a common point where you can find all the Roms either cooked or upgraded ones. I would like all of you to get involved and use this thread and paste the links of all the Roms along with their snapshots so that who so ever flash a new rom knows how it looks.
Hope this thread be a useful one for all of us.

[Newbie question] flashing with cooked ROM

hi, this is my very first post in XDA-developers. Please help me with some of my questions regarding flashing a TP2 with a cooked ROM.
I have a brand new TP2 from T-mobile USA.
and i want to flash it with a custom ROM.
i did search and read some post and i found these two threads.
Hard-SPL unlocker:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131
and Flashing for newbies
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540&highlight=touch+pro+rom
my questions are:
1) are these both applicable to a brand new TP2 from t-mobile USA?
2) are these two together the only TUTORIALS i will need? (if not, any other suggestions?)
3) can you please give me some keywords or tags or links on where i can find the cooked ROMs?
4) do i need to SIM UNLOCK my phone?
5) can i still fix it if i accidentally brick it?
6) what is a RADIO? (in XDA-developer terms)
i would really appreciate your help. thanks a lot!
Welcome Rakcs,
As far as flashing a cooked ROM goes. It looks way more complicated than it really is.
First you need to download and flash the HardSPL(Follow the instructions and you will be fine)
Quick note though.. When flashing the HardSPL your screen will go black, this is normal.
This allows you to flash your cooked roms.
Once you have the HardSPL flashed, download your choice of ROM and flash it.
But to more accurately answer your questions...
1) are these both applicable to a brand new TP2 from t-mobile USA?
--Yes
2) are these two together the only TUTORIALS i will need? (if not, any other suggestions?)
--For the most part.
3) can you please give me some keywords or tags or links on where i can find the cooked ROMs?
--Check the ROM development page for the Rhodium http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490
4) do i need to SIM UNLOCK my phone?
--No, not unless you feel the need to switch to a different carrier
5) what is a RADIO? (in XDA-developer terms)
RADIO refers to your Radio (ie Phone/GPS "radio"). You can update the driver for the radio for better functionality.
wow.. thanks for the quick response. since it says in your sig that you also have tp2 from tmobile usa. i wanted to ask which ROMs are safe to use on it. it's because it says on a video guide on youtube that some ROMs are carrier dependent. thank you so much for your help!
another question:
what's the difference between the standard cooked ROM and Manila 2.5?
Well once you get used to the flashing process it really comes down to personal preference.
I have tried most if not all of the ROMS on the forum and I personally like Monx ROMeOS.
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570407
To be able to download his ROMs you have to sign up at his website here: http://romeos.monx.biz/
It's well worth it.
It's a very friendly rom for someone who is flashing for the first time.
Ok.. Manila refers to the Touchflo 3D (just a fancy name for it).
Anyway, there are essentially 2 versions for it. 2.1 and 2.5
2.1 supports the landscape mode for when you slide out that beautiful keyboard. 2.5 only supports landscape on the music/pictures tabs.
For you I would suggest sticking with roms cooked with manilla 2.1

Newbie in Theme customizing

Hello everyone!
I am new to this so please forgive me if my questions are simple and stupid.
I have read many pages here but i think i didnt see any answer to my questions.
I have the htc hd. since it is new i have the officiall rom and the windows 6.1
i have heard that changing rom or windows from a non-HTC officiall suplier/provider will result to lose my guarantee.
I see you people posting themes for different roms and that makes me wonder. if i install one of those themes on mine, will it work?
also. i found a touchflo theme creator here but it is to be installed at the phone directly. is there a similar program available for PC? i personally think its much easier (to me) to create a theme on your PC and then install it as a .cab file to your mobile!
Thank you

one thing to know is that you need to read wich version of manila you have on your phone and read for wich version of manila the themes are made so you can see if its compatible or not.

Simple, Carrier free Rom

I have android 2.1 currently on my vx6900, Id like to go back to close to stock Rom, but without all the verizon carrier "flavorings" and rescrictions.
Any ideas? Personaly I liked the simple clean useage of win 6.0 without all the extra graphics ( besides the HTC home plug in and the touch flo )
thanks in advance.

[Q] Noob here

Hello,
I was needing an update for my htc tilt 2. everyone is talking about new buttons and new touch flow interface. I just purchesed it in jan. 2010. I had some expereance with the palm updating, upgrading, and unlocking. Is it the same? do i need a 32bit os or can i just use the 64bit i am on now?
any links to anything about it would help me and the other new users out there.
Thanks,
Noob #1
Everything you need to know about flashing a custom ROM is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
And the parent forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490
Or if you want an "official" ROM instead of a custom, user-made ROM, you can flash the new ATT ROM (leaked, not officially released yet). It contains the HTC Sense 2.5 interface, which is sweet IMO:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737168
Also, you should use more descriptive titles to your threads. So many people use titles like "Question" or "Please help". Its good to have some idea of what the thread is going to be about.
Thanks for the help!
