Hello. I've been searching this site, smart phone junkies, google and under my bed, and I for the life of me cannot find a comprehensive Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 flashing to a windows 6.5 rom.
As of right now, my device has the stock windows 6.1
I'm sort of new to this whole scene, and am LOVING my new smartphone, and am ready to delve deeper into it, customization and such.
I dislike the plain feel of the today screen for stock windows 6.1 and thus why im searching to upgrade to 6.5 since I do not want to wait for sprint to come out with theirs.
I apologize if i'm just ignorant, but like I said, I could not find a comprehensive walkthrough for newbs on how to get a windows 6.5 rom for a Sprint HTC touch pro 2. Could someone point me in the right direction? I know the risks, but that's why I want a walkthrough, so I can follow step by step on how to do it properly and safely, and how to revert back to the stock 6.1 if need be.
thank you in advance.
Tony
i"m with you on that!! I just got my TP2 2 days ago and decided not to set up anything until I have 6.5 on it. someone please help!!
THIS thread gives the instructions you need.
For CDMA (Sprint/Verizon), note that the instructions are a bit different at the beginning, and you'll have to make sure you choose ROM's that are suitable for your model/carrier
Thank you!! im nervous to upgrade to winmo 6.5 for sprint, but i know it'll be better so wish me luck! =)

Before everybody gets all peeved at me for this, I've done my research, and I've done my homework and PLENTY of searches. Here's the deal.
I recently purchased a Tilt (and am waiting for the damn AT&T WM 6.1 upgrade), and I gave my brother my old 8525. His needs are pretty basic...AIM, txts, email, internet, and GPS (I gave him my external and set him up w/ TT7). He's more of a intermediate user than a beginner, but I would like to keep it very simple for him. What would be the best rom for his 8525 (preferably WM 6.1) that would be the easiest to use, and of course the fastest. He doesn't need any extra bloatware or anything. I'm a pretty advanced user myself, so I can help him out as much as possible.
Also, any recommendations for me? I'm sick of waiting for AT&T's 6.1 upgrade. I was thinking about flashing the Tytn II rom on there but IDK.
Thanks, and try not to flame too bad.
Don't wait for the upgrade; it'll be crappy anyways. Flash to one of the custom ROMs here and you cetrainly wont regret it.

That's what I was thinking. Which 6.1 ROM would you suggest for my Tilt? I want speed and power/performance. I can install all the custom apps myself (I would prefer too). I'm still running AT&T's bloat'ed 6.0 ROM
As far as the 8525, which 6.1 ROM would you suggest for him? Speed and performance. Again, I can install all the custom apps myself.
try a lite rom dvh, crc, and/or pdacorner wm6.1 for hermes.
check the tilt forum section for their cooked wm6.1's...
happy flashing!
well
let me know how you get on, the tilt will be my next phone, kaiser with video calling that is, as i believe it is still reasonably new release, with known issues hopefully the doctors here have already ironed out.
However as people here been saying, let the fun begin by flashing, make sure you read the wiki thoroughly before you do so.

I would try CRC's 12.9 Naked Bigstorage for him, making sure to flash a shipped from first (don't want any nasty HR's).
I find my WM gets faster the longer I let it sit on the phone, and dam is my phone fast now
And for Tilt, Im not sure, best to read up, some have better performance than others, with the Direct 3D drivers ect.
Hi guys. I recently bought a Touch Pro 2 from Sprint after an awesome discount let me finally ditch my Treo 755p.
I've glanced around some of the forums, including this one, and understand that Sprint PCS hasn't released a Windows 6.5 update, that you guys have long figured out how to install one anyway, and that it's vastly superior...
I want this! But I'm clueless and was wondering if there was a step-by-step direction/page for doing whatever I need to do to my device?
I am running a Mac and love my Mac... but I have Parallels VM and can use Windows 7 for whatever might be needed (I presume?).
Thank you in advance for your help. I'm greatly interested in updating this phone and don't understand why Sprint is so behind on things.

You´ll find all you need to upgrade ROM
Good luck,
I'm going to buy the S620 in a few days and I have a couple of questions. So, what better place to ask then here.
The phone has the original WM5.0 on it, and I want to upgrade to 6.5. Should I? A lot of people say that the battery runs out in a flash.
And, since I'm completely new to flashing WM devices, a complete newb can some please give me a link to a idiot-proof guide for flashing? Or some guides on the web, I would really appreaciate it.
Any ROM is better than stock since 6.1 & 6.5 have never been officialy released for Excalibur.
Regards how?
Please take your time to have a good read of the sticky as pretty much everything is covered.
Have fun with new phone

Thanks. i hit google last night and didnt go to bed till i found the info i needed. and i came across all of those pages except for the android one.
by the way. are you using a rom? if you are which one are you using and is there another that you recoomend me to use?
Thank you. Hope your next few days are filled with joy. God Bless.
Well generally what say is what most will say, after you have used the Hard sPL unlocker, i would recommend a simple Rom that has been stripped of all the bloat ware, to get a feel for the speed and responsiveness , then after you get bored with it, then try the other Roms that the fine chef have cooked.
Here is what i have been using, its simple and fast

Kwbr is getting ready to update the Rom shortly with a newer version.
thanks i was getting stuff ready for when i my parents got me my phone this chirstmas. turns out the got me a unlocked HD2. so im guessing it works the same, since they both run windows 6.5 right?
I would head over to the HD forum and start reading, some may be the same but there will be differences ...i would still set up both phones with stock stripped Roms and compare them both...i still favor the Tilt 2 Pro... because of the keyboard
http://www.infosyncworld.com/review...Tilt+2&name2=&name3=&name4=HTC+HD2+(T-Mobile)
Read this thread then decide....tilt 2 has 3g the HD2 uses edge..

hay all, first off Iam a little tech sav. but definatly not as good as most of you pros on here. . This being said Iam looking for an easy walk through to load an Android os with the gen y duel boot I currenly have, of course if there is a better duel boot I dont mind using it, really I am just looking for a walk through that is easy to use and Iam starting to loose my mind looking through all these posts. Back ground on my device is, US Cellular HTC TP2 windows 6.5 pro, thanks a bunch for pointing my in the best direction, I know that someone on here will know the best place to go for all the info I will need to get the best / correct OS / ROM.
Read the first few posts... we don't support gen.y, you'll have to get support from them in that thread.
