The New official Tmo 6.5Rom - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

So I tried this official TMO romon my Wife's phone. It seems fine but there seems to be no way of getting to the normal winMo settings. When I click on the settings icon from the start menu, it takes me to the manilla settings.
Has anyone found a way to the normal windows settings where you have all the other settings, like the remove programs, and all of the others?
Also what really sucks about it is that you cant just move the icons around how I want in the start menu, I have either move to top or move to bottom.
thanks,
Jeff

Thanks, I did nit try that as I guess I assumed that it was more manilla specific, as it is HTC and all.

Settings change from WM5 to WM6

Hi Everyone,
I upgraded to the O2 WM6 ROM last night and theres a few things I cant do that I could on WM5 and was wondering if someone could tell me how.
1. On the desktop i cant get the two buttons at the bottom to change from Calender on the left and contacts on the right.
2. The running problems icon has gone from the start menu options and I cant find it anywhere
I know these are trivial but you know what its like when you set something up the way you want and get use to it and then its taken away.
Cheers everyone.

Hi,
1. Just copy the file into the windows folder, do a soft reset, and go to start\settings\system... you will find the solution to remap the softkeys...
View attachment SoftKeyApplet.zip
2. Install this program. It will make an icon to the top right of the today screen. By this icon you can manage your running programs.
View attachment X-Button-1.5.zip
Cheers.
Cheers zsitvayb, worked a treat.
Is there a way to remove the battery indicator from the bottom right corner of the desktop next to the comm manager. Im using batterystatus which is more accurate so i have no need for it

Yes, that's possible. You shold do some registry tweaking... Hereby you can find a descriptipn about the registry tweaking: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Registry
Thanks again.
Can i ask one more, it will be the last.
When you go to text messages the left soft key is delete where as in WM5 it was new. Any way to change this back to New.
Thanks for all your help

Any way to add "recent programs" to the home screen for WM6.1 "sliding panels"?

Any way to add "recent programs" to the home screen for WM6.1 "sliding panels"?
Hey, folks! 1st time post here (I think!)
Anyhow, I upgrade my Dash to the Kavana WM6.1 ROM last week. I *really* like the sliding panels home screen layout. Super useful, if you ask me! I was wondering, though, if anyone knew how to add "Recent Programs" as on of the sliding panel plugins? I've opened the "SlidingPanel.home.xml" file and found the plugins section for the home screen order. It has...
<Plugins Order="CClock;CHome;CAppointments;CWelcomeCenter;CWindowsLive;Settings" />
So...I'm assuming that there might be some plugin like "CRecentPrograms" that I can add. Does anyone know what the plugin would be, or info on how to get the Recent Programs in there, if possible?
Thanks!
Yip
Unfortunately, there's nothing like that available right now. The next best thing is creating a panel with your most used applications. Search around here a little bit and you'll find it.
That is a good idea, however. Does anyone know how the MRU lists works? where it is stored, how it is called? Perhaps we could cobble it together.

I think its stored in the registry under the shell - I will look for the key later
I'd agree that this would be nice to have. Really the only thing I miss about WM6.0. I'll poke around and see if I can find it as well.
The data is stored under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMRU
I'm not sure what to do with it from there though as far as creating a panel/plugin for it. If anyone could point me in a direction I'm willing to try to do it.
I would love to have this plug-in as well.
You do realize that depending on where you try and put that in the home screen, your one button click away from your recent programs list in wm6.1? Otherwise you'd be 4 to 5 clicks if you added a panel to the home screen.

That's true, of course, but it's what I prefer. I had the "Recent Programs" on my home screen in WM5.0 and WM6.0, and would like it back while still keeping the *wonderful* sliding panels UI.
Also, I would really prefer to have "All Programs" be the default when I hit the Start menu button. I know I can do that now, but then I lost the Recent Programs feature altogether.
Someone raised a good point, though: is there a way to create a home screen "panel" that features a handful of links to programs that I specify? That might actually be better, in my case.

Thank you, that's been mentioned before in this thread. It could also be one click away on the home screen, depending on where the panel is located. At worst, you wouldn't have to use it.
IMO, it's not that much different than having the CLinks on there, except instead of it being static, it's dynamic. I think it's worthwhile to have on the home screen if possible.

Standard Windows Mobile Settings Menu

Sup,
Upgraded to the official T-Mobile Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM earlier today. Tinkering around, I was not able to find the regular settings menu. The settings in the start menu go to the HTC settings tab. I just want to know if there's a way to get back the settings folder to set specific things.
Thanks
In the HTC Settings menu, your left softkey says "All Settings".
That will bring to all the other settings.
(I also looked over it the first time )
WM 6.5 brougt nothing but trouble to me ,
At Start menu, have to scroll 4 x down to come at the bottom.
Also cant copy paste text from messenger anymore.
the only thing i want now, is downgrade.. but too risky with all those hard spl stuff ( i have still warranty and dont wanna lose it )
And why didint they make an left - right software key button in the configuration page. I mean, did they think that evryone wants the phone key on left, and camera on right ? what where they thinking.. All those registry changes to make it work, making me crazy.
If you flashed an official rom you can cerainly flash back the original rom. It will be signed by the carrier and you will not need to HardSpl your phone.

6.5 ain't so bad so far. Only thing is it takes a little bit more RAM.

Kill Manila/TF3d completely?

I want my old WM5/6 back. The simple utilitarian menus that work quickly and are not buttered over.
Reminders snooze times
Task bar with separate volumes for ringer and headset
standard notification/text/reminders (not skinned)
The first time I did this (when it was new) I easily found all of the reg edits to fix the look and features.
I recently had to start all over and am having trouble located all of these edits and then got to thinking, if they all run because of manila, why not kill the cause instead of covering it up. If all it does is try to make this pretty at the expense of cpu usage, why not kill it completely. Will WM run as usual? If so, what is the best route?
TIA,
Dan
Go to:
Settings->Today->Items
Then uncheck 'HTC Sense'
That turns it off
That is well known, but does not remove the overlays, it just puts the today screen back and that was the first step of what I already did.
I want to kill the fat finger menus, and all of the overlays.

You are going to have to provide more information. Which TP 2 do you have, which carrier? Which version of WM? Which ROM?
I like teh butter!
download a custom rom that doesnt have TF3D or Sense cooked into it?

It may be difficult. I believe that WM6.5 put in the larger menu icons, rather than the old style "start menu". That may be simply a part of the OS. The only fix I've put in is to disable the HTC notifications by changing the registry to disable loading of the HTC .dll, which then loads the WM version. So when I click an icon on the task bar, it actually brings up the stock balloon rather than that all-in-one HTC manager.
But I haven't seen that it is possible to disable the new, larger icons (at least with my ROM).

Yeah I'm pretty sure that Windows stuffed the fat finger-friendly menus in there. Notice how when you kill Manila, a different fat menu is apparent.
I did not upgrade to 6.5 because of those reasons, but luckily my same post on PPCQ was found from the guy that came up with the below on here, heh.
Thanks for the help from:

Now I just need to hunt down the fix for the windows based phone edit. My list is all white and I can not see the choices.
Thanks to all.

WinMo 6.5 Start Menu Icon Arrangement

Hey people, I was just wondering if there is an app that allows you to rearrange the order of the icons in the wm6.5 start menu? I've tried JWMDIconChanger but it seems to be missing several icons from the start menu.
JSPA Program Manager should do the trick

Looks like it only allows you to configure what shortcuts appear where, but not the actual order they appear in on the page.
Try restart. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=481379

I just used the "move to top" feature...and started in reverse order that I wanted the programs, so the one I started with is at the bottom of the screen, and the one I finished with is at the top. It orders them left ---> to right, in the honeycomb/staggered fashion when doing this method....seamed simple enough...without using more memory.
I installed JWMDIcon Changer program. It does indeed allow you to change the order of the icons in the Start page and within any folders. It does a lot of other things, but this is the only thing I wanted it for. The only pain is that you have to soft reset after every change, so if you move things and don't like it, you have to redo it and SR. Loving my new icon arrangement.
