HI! lol ok i had a quick question im tryng to send a txt file made with windows mobile to a phone number by sending it as a text message but everytime i send it as an attachment it just shows up blank and im trying to send it to a blackberry and to a windows phone. i know the blackberry can do it my friend sends me them all the time and i can see them perfectly but he cant see mine..... im using a touch pro 2 from u.s cellular any one know how to do this you would make like my whole year plz!!!!! thanks w73x
Why not just copy the text and paste it into the messaging to send as SMS?
Rename the file extension to .jpg and send it through an MMS and have the other person rename it back to .txt.

i've never heard of sms being able to carry attachments before. how are you receiving the text file? is it as a sms, mms, or e-mail?

Yeah I agree...I'm suspecing that his friend's BB is just composing the message in the same window/interface as SMS messages, but sends it over MMS whenever there's an attachment like that
why would u want to send a txt file? its the same as sending a txt message however if u send it in a pic message it should show up cus when u write in a pic message and look at the contents that txt that u wrote is in a .txt file....u sure ur not talking about a doc file? (can BB even open doc files?) but sending txt files are useless. just type it in a pic message if u want a long txt..i dont think theres a limit on charaters in pic messaging. just as long as it dont use to many KB but for something to be 600plus kb would have to be a book or something

Perhaps the info in the text file is something that needs to be able to be accessed/manipulated outside of the SMS/MMS app, or off the phone even

I have made my own ROM and got my PPC as I wanted it.
I setup the messaging with the required operator numbers etc. When testing I am able to receive SMS messages but when I send or reply to any they end up in the drafts folder and not being sent out.
I wonder if I missed out any necessary cab files? I have what I thought is the right file Alpine_SMS05272005.sa.CAB or am I missing something else?
I hope some one can help. THX
i own a HTC 8525 and I was wondering if there are any programs out there.. or any settings that allow you to forward you text messages to another number?
In text message menu> reply> forward
In inbox menu> reply> forward or hold on txt and forward.
Not sure about specific programmes though.
but how do i reply with the sms message being copied? u know, just like in emails where they keep previous txts when replying. Is it able to be done instead of copy & paste...

That would probably not be a great idea, since SMSes are charged per block, starting with a block of 160 characters. You would be charged for two SMSes when you exceed 160 characters and are below, if I recall correctly, 306 characters. And so on and so forth.
But in terms of answering your question, I think the best way is just copypasta...

I just did a search for the same question. I have a friend that is recieving a text message from a forex trader that he wants to be automatically forwarded to me. Perhaps we can have text message sent to a number that would automatically forward it out to both of us? Surely there is a way or a product that does this? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

First, make sure you're not sending it to a land line.
2nd, did you try removing the + sign? I'm not so sure how the codes work in your country/area but in here (Canada), it will add a +1[areacode]-[number] when the contact is saved from a received sms.
3rd, can you receive sms from those contacts?
P.S.: Don't double post.

This was an issue with some verizon ports with the SecPhone and SecContacts apps adding a + in front of the numbers and at&t not being able to call back or text back directly to that number. The contacts app might not be setup to work with the + extension added. You could try pushing a different carriers SecContacts/SecPhone apk to system or using a 3rd party app

a text message is exactly that, a text message. It can contain text characters and nothing more.
a mms (multi media message) can be a text message, but it can also contain other media files (pics, videos, audio, etc.)
we get charged for mms in the UK as well and I think this happens in many countries unless you have it part of your phone plan.

Hmm I don't know about this....I have a feeling its the gallery from our HTC because there is video implemented in there and it thinks its a video also..
I got to find a way to remove the video part or just use a diff picture viewer... if I'm right...
Pics get converted to mms, this has nothing to do with Viper, or any rom.

not sure what you're saying here, but here's some more info on sms v mms:

Thanks
this isn't HTC specific and certainly has nothing to do with the gallery app. I've seen this in my note 3 and and note 2. Some messaging apps don't display the same message as prominently. If you try google hangouts you won't see the same message but no matter what when you send a picture your messaging app is switching it to mms.
I tried hitting the 'Sym' button on the keyboard for the Emojis menu but it doesnt pop up for facebook. Anyone know how to access the emojis for Samsung Note 4 to use on facebook?
Press and hold the microphone button next to the sym button, then click the smiley face and they're in there..
Are you guys able t see emojis when they are sent from you in text messsages and if you send them can the recipient see them? Im having that problem and it is very frustrating because my friends with S5s can send and receive them with no issue. Thanks.

first time I sent a txt my on my note 4 with emoji in it, a popup came up and said something to the effect of "if you send this text message then the recipient wont be able to see emoji, if you want the recipient to see emoji send this message as __________ instead.."
I cant remember what the keyword was though (the __ blank)
of course there was a "don't show this message again" checkbox, but if you clicked "ok" then it would send and wouldn't necessarly show the emoji in recipients txt msg, however if I clicked the other button, it wasn't called "cancel", I forget, then it would change the send mode for text messages and send emoji's so the recipient could see them..
im sorry I so vague on all the specifics, but perhaps you are sending in the wrong 'mode'? maybe someone else with some more knowledge can chime in.
