Music player Issue - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Guys,
Just got my Tp2
when i put my albums in the music player, it doesnt seem to sort this in order of 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc etc it mixes up the songs in each album and doesnt play them in order???
is ther a way to sort this? i cant find any options or settings?

It's sorted alphabetically by filename rather than by the meta tags.
I posted a response to a similar question previously here.

Thanks for the reply mate!
one of my albums is actually named 01, 02 , 03, 04 etc etc and it still doesnt order, stupid system!!! Must be a fix or a way to short cut another player to that manila tab?
its only with a few ablums anyway
thanks

"All Songs" in TouchFlo music library won't scroll.

Hi.
I just found a problem with the TouchFlo music player, and wondered if anyone else had the same problem.
I've got all my music nicely organised, with album art, and it all works a treat, until I try and scroll through "All Songs" in the library. Basically, all the songs jump off the bottom of the screen, and usually stay there. I can't scroll up to go through the list of all songs.
Anyone else have this problem, or better still, does anyone know of a way round this?
Basically, if I've got "All songs" selected, and it's on shuffle, I get a good selection of all my songs. If I want to select a particular song, I should be able to scroll to it in the library and play it. Because of the problem, I'd have to select it via either the album or the artist, and that would change my playing selection from all songs to album/artist instead.
What a pain!
I only want to listen to Nurses Whispering Verses without losing my place! lol
I have this problem as well. Dont know a way around it tho. When i scroll up or down all my music just disappears and I'm lookin a nice bright EMPTY screen. Its annoying!
What is the best way to have album art for each album on the HD?
Hello it is a known problem with the current HTC album. It seems to be from having too many songs. I happened to me when i added about 600 or 700 songs. I tried reducing the number but had no luck until i remove them all and then readded only 450 or so and it works ok now.
For album art first you need songs arranged in /Music/Artist/Album then you can either have Folder.jpg in each album dir. or you can attach the album art to the mp3 in the file info. the album art should be 200x200. both methods work for both album and S2P using the Folder.jpg is necessary for Win Media Player.

I had the same problem. then I solved everything, simply by moving the music folder!
I have had that problem as well. Present on some roms, not on others. Not present in Duttys 1.9
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll try moving the folder to see if that has any effect, or just put up with it since it's only a minor annoyance, and just hope HTC sort if in a future upgrade.

You don't have to worry about the size. Mine are all different as I just googled for them and saved the biggest I could find for each album. Sometimes it wouldn't show an image, so I just deleted it and downloaded a different one.
I've got this problem and troubles me a lot,
I have over 500 songs in the library and it seems that the problem was due to too many songs on list
i think if you use advanced config or HD tweak to increase the cache size used for hte TF3d it would work properly then .. and faster scrolling too .. i am not so sure . i had this problem i did tht and deleted some songs ... then it worked fine
Anybody has a real solution??
anyone????
^_^
I'm using another rom and it's working perfectly now (i'm using this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562952 but it's working with every new roms i think)

Dutty LEO R2 TF3D Update album art...does it work?

Well, you read the title, does it? Been trying and can't seem to get any results...any ideas?
not working on PhamQuang v59; manila crashes and (successfully) restarts.
worked fine in dutty's leo ROM
I guess it only works where there is a title and album for each song...howbdo I edit mp3s to add that information in? How do I make the "search for album cover for all now playing" work?

There are programs that will auto-arrange/name mp3 anyway u want. I can't think of it off the top of my head but I'm sure you can google for it. Once I'm back home I can try and find the names of the ones I used. Then when you want to update the album art of all your songs, just play a song from 'all songs' and hit "search for album cover for all now playing" which will update all the album art songs.
PS, did a quick google search, and MediaMonkey is one of the progs I used (and it's free)
I was playing around with this over the weekend on Duttys Leo R2 and found that:
1. If you've not already got an active connection it failed to initialize and errored
2. If you already had a 3G connection it attempted but nothing ever downloaded
3. If you had an active wifi connection or connected via activesync it worked
4. When it does work it's not always the correct cover art. For example, I had the album Confindential by High Contrast, but it kept trying to tell me it was 19 by Adele even though the MP3s where correctly tagged with album, artist, track name etc! Some stuff worked fine though
dont know why you can't just assign a jpg to a folder via your sd card or something, seems like people just want to find long winded ways of doing things,or if the cover art is in the folder with the songs it uses that picture

[Q] Unknown Artists?

Alright, so this has been bothering me first some time now.
When I go to my music app, I've noticed a bunch of my songs being labeled under "Unknown Artists".
Now, it never use to do this so I don't really understand how it happened.
I checked my SD card and everything in Root Explorer to see if there was any data corruption, but everything looks normal.
Has anyone had this problem before? What would you guys recommend? Thanks!
Another weird thing: I try to go to change the tags so I can put in the correct artist, but the Tag already shows the correct artist. The library just displays it as "Unknown Artists"
This has appeared on multiple music apps btw
The tags on the song aren't done correctly. Happens a lot on torrented music.
Download any of the countless album art/ artist finder apps and fix it.

Well, I don't know. The tags USED to work, and app finders are led to believe the tags are correct except in any Music App.
I'm having the same problems. I spent a few hours making sure all the tags were right using media monkey and still, my epic does not pick up the artists. picks up album art, albums, song names just fine. I think it may have something to do with iTunes. I used iTunes and converted all my music to m4a's (iTunes AAC format) and I read somewhere else that the android uses ID3v2 tags? Correct me if I'm wrong but thats the next step for me... converting everything to ID3v2 tags (if they aren't the same that is).
EDIT: Yes. I just converted one artist from .m4a (aac) to a .mp3 using iTunes and that solved it for me; that band now shows up under the Artists and not under Unknown. Hope this helps others.
If you need help I can post more.
More proof that ITunes is the Devil...?

[Q] MP3 Music Tags In Gingerbread...Is there a Solution?

I have searched all over the internet & this site & have still to find a solution to this problem. And i have seen many variations of the question i am about to ask kind of answered but with no definitive solution...so here goes.
In froyo & eclair (and Nokia in my pre smart phone days) all my music was shown correctly by album, now in gingerbread every track is just identified by the ALBUM NAME repeated for each track e.g.
Top Hits of the 80's
Top Hits of the 80's
Top Hits of the 80's
All my mp3's are tagged using Tag & Rename with...File Name, Album, Artist, Title, Track No., Album Artist, Genre & Album Art.
All my MP3's are stored on my SD Card in a folder called MP3's
This occurs on my HTC desire running Insert Coin 1.1.14 & also on my unrooted Sensation XE running gingerbread 2.3.4
So is the problem Gingerbread?
Does Ice Cream Sandwich handle tags correctly?
Can i change my tags so they worked as in Froyo, if so how in detailed steps.
Is there an alternate tag editor that will solve this issue
I have downloaded several music playing apps and they show the same issue.
I'm sure there are many others would like an answer to this issue...please is there any great person out there who can give a definitive answer/solution to this
Would be ever so grateteful
Cheers in advance
Stan
I had a problem like this and i had to put all the tagged mp3's into their own individual folders for the tags and pictures to be picked up for each mp3.
This worked for me and took quite a while for me to do each mp3.
^^ What he said.
I had the same problem. Used iTag and then placed all MP3s in their individual folders.
Thanks for the prompt replies guys will give that a try.
Question:
What do i title the individual folders
1 2 3 4 5 6 etc
or
artist
or
track artist - title
Cheers
Gave each folder
track artist - title
& i can confirm this works...cheers guys
Well i thought it did, worked for 2 small albums but several others since it hasn't worked..confused
but i have many many music files that need coverting now
is there any easier method than create folder, copy paste name & then move mp3 into folder........aaaaaagh
sorry for posting in wrong form
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I created folders named after the artist.
DJ Tiesto
Rammstein
Metallica
etc.
That seemed to work here for all of my tracks. And then if I have multiple tracks from the same artist, but different albums, I just placed them in the same folder.
I don't care that much that tracks aren't in the correct album folder, as long as it is the correct artist

[Q] Re-name Music Tracks on the Phone

Hi guys, sorry if this is in the wrong place.
So i have an Xperia Play(Duh), but i am sick and tired of music saying 'Unknown-Tinie Tempah feat Eric Turner-Written in the Stars' for some tracks. That was just an example of that specific song by the way, they don't all say that...
I want to know if there is a way to manually edit the name and art work of the tracks without the use of a PC, but if necessary, i will use a PC. I've downloaded several different Apps from the app store that are supposed to change the names of them but when i change them and save, it doesn't change anything.
Any suggestions would be appreciated since it's getting on my nerves >.<
Cheers.
I tried a lot of music apps and this is the best music app in the store, it lets you rename tracs, edit tags, add albums, search for lyrucs... etc PlayerPro Music Player
For PC, I use this great software TagScanner to edit music
iTag worked for me.
Doing it via phone is possible as evidenced by other users, but that's too much hassle for me so I always use a PC. PowerAmp can do it, but still I don't find it efficient.
I use AudioShell ID3 Tag Editor. It allows you to edit Track Title, Contributing Artist, Album, Year, Track, and Album Art among many many many many others.
It's a shell extension by the way so you have to right click your music files and edit the tags under AudioShell Tab.
