[REQ]Change Facebook status with Windows Mobile application - Windows Mobile Software Development

Hello everybody.
I would like to know how I could send a text from an application I develop for Windows Mobile 6.x to my Facebook page.
I didn't find an API to do this or even a small example on the web!
I don't want to synchronize anything or download something, I just want to update my status from my application.
If somebody have a example or a link, it would be great!
(I develop in C#).

Nobody already does something like that?
Thanks in advance!

why dont you use facebook default protocol of updating status via text msgs. You just need to mimick the layout and some codes would do imho.

Well.
Alls you need to do is send a text message from your phone to AIM/Facebook/Twitter and it will update your status message.
So's I assume you might want to just do that.
Cyclone can help you code in c# probly if u asked him. I am working on that in Mortscript.
CMail.exe and export studio. I can find a link here at xda but must rest now.

Thank you, I will have a look at this function.
[EDIT]: I did few search but I found that this possibility is not available in Europe... So, I'm still looking after a way to do it!

why not just use Microsoft Facebook app for winmo?
or use a twitter client, and link fb adn twitter so fb shows your tweets as status..

Yahoo! Go for WVGA - beta

Hey,
Surprisingly yesterday when being redirected to the yahoo Go page on my Xperia I got an option to sign up for the Yahoo! GO beta (which I am assuming is WVGA) since it will be supported on the X1.
Though the sign up page mentioned that it might take some 'weeks' to get the software because of high number of beta testers.
I was wondering, does anyone on the forum already have a copy of the wvga yahoo go app??
Regards,
Nabeel

Is Yahoo GO available yet? All-in-one messaging programs always suck, and I want Yahoo GO.
Is it here yet?
I have been using IM+ all-in-one instant messaging app, and I find it all right. And yea, I'm looking forward to Yahoo Go as well.

Any way to link Facebook contacts to phone?

My friends blackberry is able to pull all his contacts pictures on his phone from updated facebook pics.
It's a really nice feature, anyhting out there like that for WinMo users
D2/TP2 already support this
Umm, yes, it's built into your phone...
Also, you can do this if you have Outlook on any other phone using an app for your computer called Fonebook.
It's built into the stock AT&T ROM, but appears to be missing from some cooked ROMs. (The integration definately does not seem to be there with EnergyROM as of the Oct 11 build.)
It's a little labor but all you need to do is first make sure you have the facebook app installed from either microsoft direct or from the windows marketplace.
Once you have that, you'll need to edit each of your contacts and if you scroll to the bottom of each contact in teh edit view, you'll see that there's a link for connecting to the facebook profile.
Clicking that link will launch the facebook application and then allow you to select the appropriate facebook profile to link to.
That's it.

Facebook Integration

Hey all,
I watched all the videos/read all the reviews, and I couldn't find my answer.
We know that the "What's new" feed in both People and Pictures aggregates facebook stuff, but what about Facebook Inbox? What about notifications?
Could some one enligthen me?
Thanks!
Id say therell be a Facebook app for that
I like the inbox idea. That would be useful. But the rumour was that FB was developing 'Project Titan' a mail app to become more email like, so perhaps integration would come when FB updates this.
As an aside, I know MS has a 5% stake in FB, but too much integration might be too much if another Social Network becomes popular quickly (akin to FB killing My Space).
Somehow I don't see that happening, Facebook is here to stay,Myspace was too late to change the game when FB came along. FB is now akin to Google in the sense its here to stay or at least imo.
or maybe FB will be integrate directly in WM7...

??? It is integrated into WP7 however not all of the Facebook features fit into the WP7 model. For those things, you'll have to jump into a facebook app. Maybe they'll be able to integrate with the various hubs (namely people) so that you could, for example, hit a button to send a FB message to someone and it would open the facebook app directly to do that?

Actually, I can see the FB inbox happening (has another tile with, kinda like Gmail, Outlook and WL Mail). As for notifications, they could drop from the top, like for Messaging...
What about Facebook friends requests ? I don't know how it would fit into WP7 model, i guess the FB app will be needed at some point
To have all the options of FB you'd have to use app anyway..
That's why I hate all those default integrations.

Great work, I have been using BookSync for this, it is quite outdated and a bit buggy, good to see someone is developing a similar app. I hope you could somewhat get it to sync birthdays(and some other data) as well, looking forward to your WM release.
Good job .. Awaiting the WinMo release
Sounds like a cool app.
Just a note, your Sourceforge repository is empty.
its not working anymore.. any updates for this app?

facebook integration improvements

Hey guys,
A few days ago an idea came to my mind and I emailed it to Brandon Watson from Microsoft. I found his email on a blog post about hacking wp7.
I studied abroard so I use fb to talk to friends I had there. It is really nice because before I use facebook I would just lose contact. The language sqitch button is genius makes it easy to switch between the languages we mix together.
Now not everything is ment to publish on each others walls and idk how hackable the operating system is yet. But it would be very nice to send somebody a personal messagefrom the contactlist. I also suggested in the email. I could be integrated in the now plain message hub with a pivot to facebook messages. Since the operating system is very well thought out to get the job done as quickly as possible. Besides fb messages, first you get an email. Its facebook you open it, want to respond so close open fb app click post, click the new message, respond. Really slow, it would be nice to just see the messages and be able to respond directly.
The fb integration was named like a pretty big feature and for the foto,s it is but other than that not very usefull yet.
I dont know how difficult it is to add a link to the contactlist. Which links to a self build mesaaging app with all the facebook messages stored. ( I can build the app, my device is legally unlocked) but idk if its possible to add a link to that page.
Anyway is there anybody else who thought about this?
