Hey,
Surprisingly yesterday when being redirected to the yahoo Go page on my Xperia I got an option to sign up for the Yahoo! GO beta (which I am assuming is WVGA) since it will be supported on the X1.
Though the sign up page mentioned that it might take some 'weeks' to get the software because of high number of beta testers.
I was wondering, does anyone on the forum already have a copy of the wvga yahoo go app??
Regards,
Nabeel

Is Yahoo GO available yet? All-in-one messaging programs always suck, and I want Yahoo GO.
Is it here yet?
I have been using IM+ all-in-one instant messaging app, and I find it all right. And yea, I'm looking forward to Yahoo Go as well.
palringo is my choice, maybe im too lazy to switch?

Ok so i have tried a few IM services, and i want to know what you folks think is the best one you have used.
I have tried Verichat back in the day but cannot seem to find it anymore
I just had Palringo and HATE it because i am getting spam IMs
I had agile messenger too and it seems to be the best out there.
Hopefully someone has a better suggestion. PLease make sure is does not use your SMS cause i would just use windows messenger but i do not have an unlimited text plan.
Thanks
I guess no one has a messenger service they like

Do you mean unlimited data plan? Messenger does not use SMS, and I use that and it's flawless.
Nimbuzz. So far, the only one that can tap into Facebook chat, along with bunch of other chat-services, such as Messenger, ICQ, AIM etc.
My favourite IM is "BeejiveIM" the icq function is better then all the other icq IM clients.
Try 'BeejiveIM', the graphics are really amazing but it is for QVGA (still work on WVGA although)
I used to use Nimbuzz and quite liked it, but I've moved to Fring which gives you access to Twitter (which is excellent) and apparently Facebook chat (though I haven't tested this). Free of course.
My favorite you already said you don't like....Palringo
I never get spam ads from it...
BeeJive I had on my TyTn II but cannot get it to work on my HD, Ill try Fring again but i think there was something about it I didnt like, and have not tried Nimbuzz, thanks.

MSN Messenger - Meebo/Ebuddy/100s of others
Remote Desktop - A few I have seen but can't comment on
FTP - AndFTP
Internet Explorer - Chrome/Opera
Slingplayer - http://gizmodo.com/5496896/slingpla...ing-this-summer-will-stream-over-wi+fi-and-3g
Coreplayer - Quite a few in the market
Office - Multiple Office Apps
Skype - Skype Light/Fring
Wifi Router - Wireless tether for root users
Hotmail - I have no idea, Hotmail is (IMO) inferior to googlemail. It is possible though.
I just hope later the games for Android will be as good as on Iphone, Desire has alot better CPU but when i compare same games on Iphone and Android.. on android it sucks both by speed and graphics.. seems to be all just a ports, while iphone has games specially for iphone

Would push email use less battery power than "pull" email set to update every 15 minutes or so?

So would it be possible to make an offical-ish looking app that works like MSN on blackberrys? I bloody hate the 3rd party IM clients im currently stuck with, I only care about MSN not AIM or bloody Yahoo.
I don't mind making up art work, I can't code to save myself however

what do you mean that works on blackberrys?
If you mean one that can communicate with BBIM then thats not possible, thats only for Blackberrys.
Also there is no official android MSN app. Ebuddy works fine, you only need to add a MSN account and then it wont show or ask you about anything else. It will auto sign in your MSN account when you launch your app and then you can start chatting away. There is nothing wrong with Ebuddy
msntalk is free on the market. working very fine for me. its not adfree but not that disturbing

No no for blackberry or to communicate, I mean something that looks like the MSN app provided by Microsoft/Blackberry, I am aware of eBuddy as I currently use it, In my opinion it is nasty but also the best of them, Why I was hoping to go about getting a official looking MSN app on Android
I would love a real MSN Client. Like in Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.
With:
- Change your User Icon
- Change your Nickname
- Change your Personal Message
- Offline Messaging
- Able to send and receive buzzers
- Able to send and receive files.
- While looking good without crappy iPhone-style bubbles (Looking at you eBuddy!)

I would be happy with just standard messages with the ability to change Nickname and personal message, User icon would be a bonus all the other stuff im not TO fussed about, especially since "Windows Live" has changed the send on files like photo to a sharing experience
Is it just T-Mo UK that blocks MSN via 3G, then (that is, the official version on :1873).
As far as im aware the "Official" version is made and provided by Three and only works on there network
Any pictures of this 'Three' version? Also, isn't there a way to reverse engineer their stuff
OT: I prefer to use Google Talk for chatting. Is anyone else using transports to connect to ICQ and MSN via Google Talk?

I have it on my phone but it's very basic.
I can't take a picture of it because I don't get a 3G singnal in my house. When you open MSN if it dosen't detect a 3G network it says Please connect to the 3G network and then just shuts down.

Thats why transports are used to chat to your ICQ and MSN (and other IM services) buddies from Google Talk.
As I said anybody that I actually want to talk to is on MSN, In the UK ICQ or AIM weren't really popular, so everyone of interest is on MSN
Correct!
And I said I'm chatting to MSN buddies from Google Talk App...
MSN Talk is the best I've found so far, does everything you want and has a very nice UI aswell.

Can you tell which phone / rom / gtalk version ? And possibly the jabber msn transport server (doubt that would make a difference, protocol is protocol) ?
I had MSN/AIM/Yahoo Instant Messaging on my Samsung Epix, anyone know how to get this on the TouchPro2/Tilt2?
I read it's on "Window's Live" ...tried it on the phone...w/it being pre-installed...but still couldn't access instant messaging, only synced e-mail.
I was having this issue as well. I think the one that comes preloaded with the phone is only hotmail. You can go to the Marketplace and download the Windows Live from there which has the messenger, email, etc.
Certain roms come with the downloadable version as well if you ever decide to flash
I'll have to grab it Market Place.
Thank you!
You have to install Market Place, right?
I went to it on the phone, and it asks if I want to install it...just double checking.
Np and yeah the marketplace has to be installed before you can use it
Thanks
Found it here too: http://www.windowsliveformobile.com/en-us/messenger/default.aspx#
Palringo (burned into the Energy ROM) works really well on the TP2. I don't use MSN personally, but its included. I use Palringo with Google Chat, and it works great.

Cool! Found it! It has AIM and Yahoo Messenger too, if anyone was interested.
It wouldn't let me upload the file, so here's the link: http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/
Added the Windows Live CAB that has Messenger. On the Today Screen you can have Bing, Hotmail, and Messenger. If you don't want the Hotmail you just uncheck the "sync E-mail" box.
Is there a good alternative to the Gmail app? I need support for threaded view, and must be able to view messages when offline.
I have my personal Gmail account synced to the Gmail app, but I also want to see my company email (which uses Gmail as a back end) in an app. Don't want to mix business with private emails though.
At the moment I access company mail through the browser interface which isn't optimal.
Thanks!

Doesn't support threaded view.
U can use the default exchange mail app. Just setup as IMAP account.
Have tried a lot of different mail clients, but ended up using K9.
K9 do not have the most sexy GUI and I hate the icon even I know why devs keep on to it ... but honestly ... come on a head of a robot dog LOL
It have some smal bugs, but all together the best mail client I have tried until now.
I actually likes it so much that I contributed with a Danish translation.
BTW its open source and its possible to download latest version from http://code.google.com for free
Best mail client is Maildroid:

Thanks, have tried it and it's not bad. The threaded view is a bit cumbersome though, it groups messages correctly, but you need to exit each message to view the next instead of just scrolling down. Will keep it though.
Wish I could duplicate the Gmail app actually, or even better port the Mail app from iOS.

Why don you use default samsung email? It can be set as pop3 or imap. Can create multiple account on it.
Why don't you use Gmail?
If you have two Gmail accounts just add them both to your phone. Your mail won't mix, you'll just have to select the account you'll use in the upper left corner.
Or you can use the default Samsung app like anlimdy22 suggested.

Honestly, couldn't get that to work - just forced closed time and time again, and when it did work it couldn't verify the settings (the very same ones that K-9, Maildroid and the Gmail app could). Better apps are usually available externally

You're right, I assumed that it would mix emails from both account but it actually works well. Can't say I think the system to switch between accounts is the smoothest possible, but usage-wise it's still the best experience I've found. Thanks.

Turn off word suggestion in Swype, it will help you to edit mail in default email app.
On the subject, the stock GMail app is the worst client I've ever seen. No multi touch is a PITA. The stock email app is good, still not the very best out there. Tried almost all the clients, Maildroid and all, yet to find one which suits my need, K9 was good, maybe I've to try it again.
Its really unbelievable that the client in iOS I used 3 years back was way better than all of these in Android!!!

Actually, I'd say the iOS Mail app is still better - where better, for me, means easier to use. Swipe-to-delete alone makes it a winner.
Yes, that's correct. Simplicity of using is way beyond everything.
Anyway started using K9 again, nice, but I couldn't get the idea of getting 'Message Sent' confirmation/notification! I guess it was present before or am I missing something...!
