On my TP2, I'm listening to music through the speaker, and everytime I put the phone to sleep it pauses it.
Any Ideas?
But if I let the phone sit there and go on standby itself it's perfectly fine.

When you're in the "Contacts" screen, hit the menu button (bottom right), then choose "View", then "Contacts", that will suppress the SIM contacts and only show you what you've added/copied to your phone's contact database.

And you're using the HTC contacts list in TouchFlo? Because whenever I choose one of those views (All/Contacts/SIM), the choice is always retained whenever I exit and return to the contacts. What carrier version of the phone do you have, and what ROM? (stock? cooked?)

Understood, I just hadn't yet had the chance to go digging for that solution, I knew it was around here somewhere.
Use the cab I've attached below, that should keep your music playing even after you hit the power button to turn the screen off:

Hello,
I have a problem with my Hermes. Always, after I turn on my PDA, it go direct to "Today" screen. That means that if I have one program open, I turn off PDA, and then turn on again, instead of have this program open, I get "Today", and I need to use a "task manager" or similar for change to the original program .
Anybody can help me?
Thanks!
Sesaru
UPDATE: From samw52000:
This is a retarded WM6 feature that is enabled as soon as you have a password set for the device.
Remove the password, apps will stay open when the device is powered back on.
Is there any way to fix it without removing the password? I need the password!
Sesaru,
Can you explain a bit more what you mean? When you switch on the Hermes it does go to the today screen after the boot screens as its default behaviour. Not sure what you believe the problem is.
WB
You need the software X-Button
It adds a little icon on top-left corner of your screen.
When you click on it, it shows all the programs that are running, you can click on whichever one you want to bring it back up to your front screen.
It is similar to ALT-TAB on a PC.
I had nothing but poor performance out of X-button.
handy switcher is a better app and much cleaner way of doing it.

Hello;
I'll try again (I made the post at 3AM).
The problem is: I'm using the PDA in anyway (File Explorer, Office, etc); imagine that I'm using Pocket Word. Then, I wait sometime without touching any button or I push on/off button --> the PDA turn off (normal )
After that, I press on/off button (and then, the PDA turn on). The normal behaviour (I think) is to have open in my screen the last application I was using (Pocket Word), so then I can continue working directly... but the PDA always change to "Today" screen. So I have to use X-Button (or similar) to switch to the app I was using. And that is quite annoying ...
I hope I could explain better myself.
Thanks!
Go to SETTINGS, then TODAY. Click on the ITEMS tab at the bottom.
Is "Today timeout:" checked? What does it have in the drop down box?

Dear all,
Have been searching the forums for a couple of days now, but to not much avail. I've got my TP2 configured just nicely with the 1% battery meter, (A)GPS tweaks etc but a few other things I just cannot figure out and hope you can all help me out.
Registry tweaking etc is fine, just so long as I can do what I need to. I'm using an unbranded European GSM TP2 bought just the other day.
1. On the "Quick List" menu; which I get into by holding down the red/end button, I can turn data sessions/flight mode etc on or off, or the vibrate function. How can I change what options are displayed in this menu?
2. How can I activate/achieve in-call recording (there's fragments of this on the board but no real definitive answer I can see).
3. While I use SPB Menu 3.0.1, when I go into the phone dialler, the "Contacts" soft key in the bottom left doesn't work. I think it's because I have TF3D disabled and SPB Menu instead, but can I remap this back to the default, original Microsoft contacts app which I prefer?
4. How can I keep WiFi switched on while the screen is off (seen a couple of apps I think to achieve this, a nice switchable app would be great).
5. How to (on SPB Menu 3.0.1) change the default contacts app away from the built-in SPB contact menu which is awful, and back to the default Microsoft one?
Finally, I share everyone's frustration about the lack of Bluetooth voice dialling. Having mailed HTC and gotten no decent reply back, I'm as annoyed as the next person... but I think the 6.5 ROM release from HTC if/when it appears will fix things up from "reading between the lines" of some of the replies from HTC I received.
Thanks all in advance,
Adam.

by default wifi is on when only the screen is off. if the device is in standby wifi also turns off. to change this set:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms]

You said "modify "\Windows\Long_End.lnk". let it point to an application that shows something else."

Anyone any ideas on questions 3 and 5?
Thanks again everyone for a great community!

Does anyone know if there a way to change the mail application on the lock screen to Handcent? The only time I use the default app is to send MMS because Handcent wont send them for some odd reason.
I have already tried the 'Replace default maill application' setting in Handcent and it doesnt do anything that I can see.
Press menu > personalize > lock screen, scroll over to the one you're using so its selected, press settings, then you should be able to long press the sms app, then change it.

Interesting, I rarely use it, but when I did, it popped up in about five seconds.
So I had heard from everyone how bad S-voice is and I almost didn't even use it. However, I started using it yesterday and so far it's great. It transcribes me almost perfectly and it is much easier to send text messages and call people versus remembering the exact syntax for google search. Also, the ability to snooze my alarm this morning without having to fumble half-asleep for my phone by simply saying "Snooze" is amazing. Has one else been pleasantly surprised as well?
Bottom line -- this phone just keeps getting better.
PS Is there anyway to use the voice controls that Samsung has for the stock music app for the google music app? Or is there a way to connect the samsung music player to my google music songs in the cloud? Thanks
Here's another tip about S voice , if you or others didn't know about it already. Open your app tray or anything else then click home button on bottom of the phone. There will be a slight delay. Sorry to point this out because most people I show didn't notice it until I said something.
Now go into S voice and remove the setting "Open via home key".
Now click the home key and enjoy your instant back to home with greater speed
The home button is waiting to ensure that you didn't mean to double click it. So with this setting off its like 'no reason to wait take em home'.
(Doesn't mean you can't use s'voice again just put it on a shortcut).

Nice. Is there a way to change the long press on the home button to bring up Google Voice instead of S-Voice?
I usually use and prefer Google Now, but have used S-voice to add appointments to my calendar as Google Now doesn't do it directly. S-voice is also the default voice command app when I use my Bluetooth headset, and it works well for calls.
But in general it's MUCH slower than Google Now to find or look up things (weather, local restaurants).

I would like to know this as well, or if anyone has some tips of how to access google now quickly.
Right now I have the shortcut on my lockscreen, the google search bar on my homescreen, and can long-press the menu button from the homescreen. None of these methods seems to directly activate Google Now to listen to me though, I still have to tap the microphone. I'd like to be able to use it like I did with Siri on my iPhone...

Excellent suggestion. Thank you. It does add in a slight delay now when I press the home button, but being able to double-tap to Voice Search is awesome. Wish it would work on the lockscreen too...

In Google Voice Search Menu>Settings>Voice, select Hotword Detection. Then when you start Google Voice Search, you can say "Google" instead of tapping the mic to get started.
Guys, if you are at home already, click and hold menu key, launches Google Now. Then no delay on home key. But now you have some options

I froze the stock music player with Titanium BU and tested with S voice (hoping to get a prompt to choose a music player) and it just sits there
Google now, say "play Journey" it will prompt which music player you want to use (as long as you have a few options) and then you'd be set.

So far I am finding S Voice much more useful for activity integrated to the device wheras google Now is more useful for searches.
Example With Svoice I can ask for a particualr song and it will play it. Same to launch an app or text someone check schedule.....
I am finding that with Google now it will launch music player to a group but not a specific song etc.....
Thanks! OP!!!!! That was an incredible piece of info.

This does remove the lag, but it also (for my ROM anyway), changes how a press of the home button functions when your screen is off.
With this option unchecked, a press of the home button when the screen is off opens to my home screen, rather than just waking the device to display the last app you were running when display was turned off (very annoying for me). Thus, I have just been dealing with the lag to get the desired wake screen behavior. If anyone knows a way around this, it would be appreciated.

I actually posted a thread about how the home button removes everything and takes me to the home screen immediately. I guess this was the culprit. Hmmmmm.....
Just got my Note 10+ 2 days ago. I'm back to xda forum and note series after Note 2 ( i even still have Note 2 as my profile phone). Done setup my phone as I wanted. However, I've read there was option for Microsoft's native screen mirroring to PC through "Your Phone" app, but I didn't have that. I've checked, my PC meet all the requirements including the Bluetooth Low Energy Peripheral Role. Am I missing something or something I did it wrong?
This app came installed on my phone, but it is hidden from the app drawer. I haven't tried to use it yet.

If your PC is not showing the same output, then i think your OS is outdated. Try updating to 1903. That'a the only reason i can think of at the moment. If it already is then i'm out ideas.
