hi folks, just then i had a weird moment with my rhodium. I had just sent an sms to my friend, then i click the htc task manager up the top right of screen and i somehow found a file running, using file explorer icon, and its called "xpopupx....." i couldnt remember the rest.
I clicked on it, it didnt do anything and just disappear. Maybe im just paranoid, but what the hell was that? a spyware? a malware?
Dig through google and found nothing. This is the first time thing like this happen ever since i use winmo and the rhodium too.
Anybody got some lights in what that thing was?
*edit*
it happened again after i did a hard reset and this time i took note of what it was, and its actually called XPOPUPTOAST. No idea what it was, but it definitely happen after i sent an sms. It had the sms icon too.
Weird
Here is what i got after quick search around google:
it made an appearance on ppcgeeks forum HERE
On the Topaz thread on our beloved XDA Developer HERE
Small appearance HERE
Mentioned HERE
And at last, HERE
It seems that it occurs randomly and i have no idea how it happens or the effect of it. I'll just add it to the exclusive list and forget about it. Or just close it everytime it comes out.
Sorry for panicking in the first place
The problem is (kinda) solved.
Solution: forget about it.
bump ...
anyone?
or should i just hard reset for the sake of it?
Solved, last bump, hope this helps anyone who need it.

My task manager is randomly opening and closing causing my phone to lock up. Its the task manager in the upper right hand corner. At first i thought it was my screen protector, but i took that off and still the same thing. So i figured something software wise must have gotten messed up so i reflashed my phone still the same thing. Then I tried flashing with schaps older rom and still the same thing just started today anyone ever experience anything like this before??
If you would have searched, you would have discovered quite a few people have that same problem with their Hermes. It's a hardware problem with the touchscreen and there's nothing you can do about it, but send in for repair.

How will you know if he searched or not? Maybe he just used the wrong parameters or he didn´t know about the google search. Come on, it wouldn´t have been a big deal just giving him the proper answer without hanging out the big teacher.
Pronor I appreciate you sticking up for me.
As I did do a search and came up with nothing. If you know what parameters I should be searching for please link it here. Thanks
Hi
i have been getting trouble with my TP2 , since no1 reacted on my previoous post i decided to do a hard reset, i figured the "turn off" on moving back the keyboard under the screen, hoping to reset any things that might cause this. as it can just be a bad device and now i most likely need another
Or can it be a virus? i installed some cabs that were floating around on this forum and after some time i got the issue , when moving back from landscape to portrait , the device turns off instantly
what can this be?
advice needed

i supose this happens when you have keyboard open and close to go back to potrait. yep dodgy or faulty device........... i'd return it. ribbon fault i'd say mate. no virus would do that to phone. return it for a new one and tell them its a faulty ribbon. unfortunately these things do happen.
now have you installed g-sensor or flip it? if this happens with keyb closed then its something you did or installed or not set right!
i have not installed those last 2 programs
programs isntalled were
Facebook app
coreplayer
NFS underground
and some theme cabs
well tomorrow first thing il go and try to get a new one
ribbon fault your saying? what is that if I might ask?
il be sure to notify them
thanks for your quick reply

these have nothing to do with htc touch pro2 itself dude!
it's about the rom you installed in it,so pls return to your technician to get a good rom!
it's like you have super good pc,but the windows xp you installed is crap, then your pc will always get this problem and that......
FYI: rom means: OS(wm 6.5 for example)+Radio(GSM etc)+Extrom(touchflo 3d etc)
I just got a uscc tp2 today. This is the first time I have noticed this (which is after I tried to do some registry changes)... so I'm not sure if I did it or if its what all the phones do.
The registry changes I tried to do was:
http://pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/disabling-the-new-start-menu-on-diamond2-touch-pro2
Now, when every I click the task manager icon, the clock goes back an hour and 1 min, then jumps forward to the current time. I reset the values back to the default and it is still doing this. I'm not exactly sure why. Does anyone else have this same thing happen to them?? Also, not sure if it matters or not, but if you have a uscc tp2 could you check a default registry value. I think I may have changed a wrong one by accident:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila"
"Manila://people.page.hidden"
I currently have it as 0.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Edit: Also the clock issue does it when I close a program as well.
Edit 2: Hard reset didn't change anything.
-Also, task manager X doesn't show up in the upper right hand corner unless I press the start button. Then it appears when I close out of the start menu. Which I'm pretty sure wasn't the case before.
Edit 3: The task manager X does show up, just wasn't giving it enough time to load I guess at first. The clock issue is still there though.
I have the exact same problem and I have seen other topics before with this problem being mentioned. I think there is something you can do with the registry but you'd have to use the search function for that.
Also, if someone knows something to change this rather annoying feature without doing a registry hack, could anyone let me know?
When I was searching last night I couldn't seem to find it for some reason. I think I was getting to specific in my search. I did another search today and found this thread! Worked perfectly!

I am having problems with the notification on the home screen tabs at the bottom of the screen. since friday night it has said i have one new message and I dont. I deleted all of my messages and it was gone, then I got a message and it said I had 2 but only had one. If I go into the view all screen then click the inbox it shows I have one new message and I have none since I deleted them all. It's really annoying me that its there. Anyone know what I can do. I have done a hard reset and soft reset. Im running everything stock I think in 6.5.

rebooted.. it worked for awhile. then it started up again. seems to be on and off.. very random. i looked thru everything on my phone thinking "maybe" theres some option thats making it do this, but nothing. its quite annoying when im trying to txt.

I'm assuming you're talking about the physical keyboard; its a quick keys bug, just push the search button first and it'll disable it
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
There actually is a setting for keyboard shortcuts - clear all of them and the problem goes away. No bug, the ROM has the shortcuts set when you flash it for some reason. Flash a newer ROM and it shouldn't do it - or just clear the shortcuts.
I can't look in my phone right now to tell you where the setting is at but it might do some good for you to look through them and become familiar so you don't call something a bug that isn't.

yeah i figured this was the problem. i looked through my phone pretty throughly and didn't see any options though. I'll look again and get back to this thread n report.
this has been happening on and off to my phone for the last couple of weeks, I am still running RC4. it is very strange, the ROM worked fine for a while and now does this every so often, pressing E opens email app, S opens search. a reboot fixed everytime and then for what seems like no reason at all, it starts again.
will go to stable this week and hopefully it will go away. just thought i'd add another device to the list of ones with the issue.
i have no shortcuts setup at all, and have double checked. have been using CM7 since the start and it never happened prior to RC4.
When this happen just hit the "symb/search" button and the keyboard will work again
Sorry it took so long to get back with the cure but here it is:
settings>applications>quick launch
In there is where all the hw keyboard shortcut settings are. Clear any you don't want, create new ones, or whatever. Clear the ones that are giving you issues and this should solve it. If you ever clear your user data (factory reset) then it clears these settings also, so you may have to go in and delete the shortcuts again.
Hope this helped!
thank you! i cleared it all.
