Hello to all. This is my 1rst post. I have a problem with my HTC Artemis and especially on GPS. My device shows that the GPS is on (I'm using TomTom 7, HTC GPS Tool and more) but there is no GPS Signal. I've tried everything, I've changed the Software port for COM4 to COM2, I've changed the Baud from 4800 to 9200 to... even to 115600, but still NOTHING. If anybody has a solution, plz help!
Thank you
did u use gps when u had other rom installed?
maybe emrulez rom has probs with gps signal? could be?
???
Yes, I've tried different ROMS, even the official wm5 ROM, but nothing
so basically GPS never worked on your artemis.
a hard reset probably didnt fix it either.
maybe the gps function is broken

I've done that, also but nothing... I've everything! I think is broken, but when I activate GPS (I've using GPS by HTC and some other programs) the led light is on and the program stacks on COM4 checking... Same with iGO8... tries to find the port and on COM4 stops for long long time!!!
Switch-off the "BEAM" from start > Setting> connection, then try.

I have a m700 and tomtom just auto detects the internal gps.
when I go to the gps config it says internal gps. there's no baud rate or port to configure.
I'm guessing you have the wrong radio rom or are bypassing some tomtom auto-config.
Try reinstaling the latest radio and tomtom
thank you for your reply, have tried several radio roms and still no go
try original htc rom...

Hi all !
I think this forum is the more appropriated to explain my problem.
I've a Orange M650 and GPS work great until last week. Now, the GPS navigation software doesn't catch any satellite ; but the orange led is blinding.
I tried to flash the phone with the touch rom and I've the same problem.
My parameters are :
GPS program port : COM4
GPS hardware port : (None)
Baud rate : 4800
Manage GPS automatically
This parameters worked great under tomtom but today it won't synchronize at all.
Thank you for your help !
There is a problem with the GPS on M650 after flashing another rom. Search the forums for "M650 GPS". There is a patch somewhere. It worked for me, but i still think it's not 100% ok. Better than nothing.
Hi.
Thank for your answer, but I tried several patches (kulbutor, .cab included into Aje's rom, ...), and the result is worst : led doesn't blind anymore
Try flashing the original rom back, if u can find it. If u register on htc.com e-club you can download a rom with windows mobile 6. Unfortunately my artemis seems to have been bought in Italy, so i got a rom in italian. If all else fails, try an authorized service.
I have attached the cabs I installed over one of meschle's touch 4.01 roms. Use both of them.
I've installed SdkCerts and configured the GPS manually in Tomtom and now it works !
Thank you !!!

Hi, i think you must set gps windows settings first: i set COM4 on "GPS data PORT" and NONE on "hardware GPS port" (with 4800 Bauds)
Than flag the option about the automatic GPS configuration
After, you should try different gps configuration by TOMTOM menu (my current setting is "integrated GPS", and it works"),
but other configuration (like "external GPS") could works.
What is your Artemis?
P3300 or SPV M650?
If it is SPV M650, use the patch called "Kulbutor"
I got a spv M650 myself and never had to do anything

If you've got a SPV M650 and want to keep the A-GPS function with another cook Rom than Aje's Rom, you must do it, no choice
It is available for B&B Rom, Artemis Touch Rom....
Hi,
I am looking for help on getting the GPS to work.
I followed the instruction on how to unlock the internal GPS and it looks like I did it okay.
When I use Google map (That’s what I have) and go to the option of “use GPS” I get a message: “Initializing GPS” and than Seeking GPS satellites (0).
After few minutes I get a message that could not acquire satellites.
I am outside with clear view.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Have you upgraded the rom/radio on the phone?
Hi Jray1,
I am new to this.
I followed the instruction on this link.

Thanks for your reply
Im also having gps problems. I have ttn 6 on a htc Athena x7500, upgraded my ROM to michy's r4.0 spl 1.2, gps program port is com4 gps hardware port is (none) baud rate 4800 and WM manages gps automatically, i got the port numbers from this site http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=3&PID=1401&SID=0&CID=223&Language=1&FID=9067
here is the info:
ROM 2.09.605.8
Radio 1.30.60
PRI 1.35_002
Browser MSIE 6.0
Works Perfectly
Are you sure the Location Settings under Phone Settings is NOT set to "911-only"? I did not use the CAB install approach in the Wiki; I just did the manual install as discussed in the original forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424387.
Wingover - looks like your device has not been updated to MR1 ...
DirectorSD,

the gps crack works, and it's able to detect several satellites using "GPS Viewer" but there's one problem: the coordinates keep changing radically, example it'd be: longitude E 88'16'82'12.1" , lattitude: N 98'9'59'.8" and then it'd change to some weird number like N 176'82'12'45'.4" abd ut dies tgat every second basically. and the direction changes every second to. I'm not moving the phone at all.
HELP!
GPS on XV6800
It seems all the cab files that were once there to help are gone. I am hoping there is someone out there with a quick fix cab file to enable gps on my verizon phone. It has been updated to Windows Mobile 6.1
It shows
R 3.37.75
d 3.57
at boot up.

Hi
same thing for me
cant found gps after flashing orange rom to p3300 original rom with tomtom
com4 window manage gps
how i can resolve problem
br
toze
similar problem
Same problem with me...
I have the rom no_nonsense_5 that was supposed to have the gps problem fixed...
I can find the gps device on the com port number 3 with a nice utility i found on the web thath can scan the ports to find out all the devices connected.
But even if i set the hw port on 3 and the automatic gps control i can't see the gps working.
When I start my tomtom navigator 6 i set it up to find the anema (wtf is that?) gps device on port 3 with 4800 I can see the satellite connection working, but really slowly and uncontinously... (also with another utility called gps test).
I cannot understand if the problem is:
-the rom
-tomtom
-hardware
-radio-rom (can anyone explain me what is the "radio-rom"?? I tryed to find out information but I really couldn't find anything... noob...).
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance..
Flash with this ROM and you will have GPS again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410912
...then...if you want...you can try again to flash with your ROM...I've had same problem and now it's solved...

The radio-rom is a special rom for the hardware of your cellphone, something like a firmware to keep it simple. You can flash a different radio rom that might change the battery drain, the signal quality of the phone, wifi, bluetooth, GPS,... without having to reinstall your 'normal' rom.
There is nothing like a 'best' radio rom. Alot of people have different experiences with the same rom. You just need to go and try for yourself.
