*UPDATED TITLE* Several Issues with Touch Pro 2 ** - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Okay I think I found another bug in the HTC sms program which I discovered today and wanted to see if its just me or anyone else. The other is hoping someone has a fix for a signal problem, and a solution for the third. I have the HTC EU Official ROM WinMo 6.5 with sense 2.1, and the phone is HardSPL.
1) I noticed today a bug in the HTC SMS program (I know who hasnt), but this doesnt seem to fall under anything I've read so far. Here the problem, When you click the contact icon on the slider bar it brings you to the flip contacts, when you click the contacts picture you go into their "profile" when you click the second sms icon here you can txt back and forth, now what I noticed is if you txt thru there when someone responds to a txt, the tone set (be it the default, or custom) doesnt ring completely. It rings for like a 1/4 of a second. I noticed this as I was txting a friend. Has anyone else have this or encountered this? This is completely different then not being notified of an incoming txt, but runs along the same possible reason why we dont get one.
2) I use a bluetooth 85% of the time, I have one major issue. I saw a possible fix, but I dont remember where or what site, but I dont know if its for this issue either. I normally keep my phone on my belt clip on the right side and the bluetooth on the right ear, but if I decide to move the earpiece to my left ear, the signal seems to get weak, and I start hearing crackling until; I move the earpiece back, or move the phone to the same side. Is there a cab or registry edit that improves the signal strength for this? I have two bluetooths, sony erricson and a Jabra V250, both have the same symptom.
3) Everytime I get a call or make a call, when I am talking the proximity sensor kicks in, which is fine, but everytime I move the phone away from my ear, thescreen isnt at the dialpad but at the black notification screen. I understand that if there was a txt, missed call event then thats fine, but when none of these exist its annoying. Is this by design or is this just something thats going to annoy me to hell and back?

Bumpy Bumpy...
Anyone?
Also I found I think another bug, I dont know if its been mentioned, if it has sorry, but has anyone realized that when the phone is on and at standby and the screen goes black that the volume keys still adjust the volume? I normally keep my phone in a leather case on my belt, and notice that when I bend down the buttons if hit will adjust the volume up or down, I ran into this by accident while bending down all of a sudden my phone vibrated briefly checked the phone and saw the volume was all the way down, thought maybe the screen was up and thats why it happened after the second time I tested it and sure enough you can adjust the volume. I know for a fact the Fuze never did that. Anyone else have this issue?

I don't know that this is related to your symptoms above, but several TP2 owners (myself included) have experienced the fact that this model seems to be particularly sensitive to cases with stronger magnets in the clasp...the magnets are just strong enough to trigger the magnetic switches in the phone that register when you slide open the keyboard, or remove the stylus. It drove me nuts for a while trying to figure out why my phone seemed to keep randomly turning itself on in the case, especially right when I was first sliding it in/out. I had thought it was because there were hardware buttons still active even when the screen was dark, but some thorough experimenting/testing proved the issue was due to the magnets....a conclusion that was confirmed by several other users once I actually bothered to go looking online for a solution (....after I'd spent hours figuring it out for myself lol). So, it might be the cause of your screen coming on and then the volume buttons are just the first ones that get pressed by your particular case and/or posture.
Unforutuately, I doubt there's any possible connection between that and your other issues...

I know there isnt any connection with the other issues, I just didnt want to make another post and have XDA shoot me for it.
Also I know about the magnet interference I read up on that long ago, but thats not my issue. I thought that was it, but I can do the same thing while holding the phone in my hands. So the magnet in the holder does not apply. I can have the home screen up, hit the power button to blackout the screen and then hold the volume down key and it will lower the volume cause by holding it down the phone will vibrate, when I turn the screen on, the volume is all the way down.

You get a shortened notification if the phone thinks you are looking at the screen when the message comes in. It would be nice if this could be turned off, but that is why.

The Pro2 isn't necessary 100% at fault with the Bluetooth problem. It can be a combination with your handsfree earpiece too.
Every Jabra unit I own has always exhibited this problem with every HTC phone I have. The first time I bought a Jabra I remember reading in the manual about their recommendation to keep the phone and earpiece on the same side of the body to avoid "interference" (referring to the body??). And if I'm listening to music through A2DP, and I move the phone to the other side of the body, the music cuts out too.
I also have an old Sony Ericsson HBH-660 and it doesn't have this problem if I wear it on the other side of the body, so it's appears both HTC phones and Jabras emit a weaker bluetooth signal.

My Sony Erricson is a HBH-GV435 And both the Jabra and the Erricson exhibit this behavior. I dont know where I read it, but I think there is a registry edit about improving the signal, unless it was something else and I read wrong, was hoping someone knew what I was talking about.
Zylograth,
I wouldnt want it turned off, if anything it should ring normally. And I think that maybe in connection to the possibility of the SMS alerts not coming in when the screen is off. I think its related somehow. But do you know where this shortened tone noticification is located?
But now what about the other behaviors? Anyone else have them?
The noticification screen is really starting to bug me with I move the phone away from my ear.

Using a Blue Angel handsfree.

Here's the scenario.
I have my blueangel in my pocket.
It's off and the button lock is engaged so that it wont turn itself on accidentally. There's nothing I hate more than when it switches itself on in my pocket and goes berserk with random screen input.
My bluetooth headset is connected.
(I'm not even gonna start on how appaling the blue tooth on the blue angel is !!!!!, but that aside.....)
The phone rings and I press the answer buton on my headset to answer it.
The damn phone is now on in my pocket and the screen is active and receiving input during the call. Quite apart from anything else, there is a great big red END CALL button on the screen just waiting to be touched.
Assuming the call survives any problems, at the end of the call I have to get the phone out of my pocket to turn it off again because it wont turn itself off unless the activity timeout occurs which is not going to happen if the screen is being brused by anything in my pocket.
Is there some configuration or tool or utility or something that can detect when the phone is in handfree mode and disable screen input unless a certain button is pressed (like the green phone buton) and then switch the phone off again when the call is terminated ?
http://www.trancreative.com/nicestart.aspx
Have a look at this.
Im using it, and its the one that does the job best of them all out there, well in my opinion anyway
What about a case?
I had an alu one... no problem!
OK. I got NiceStart and had a play with it.
I think I have got it configured to work OK now.
Seems to solve most of the issues I raised.
I can't believe I had to get extra software to do that though.
I mean, it's not as if any of those probelms are either unforseeable or hard to solve.
It makes you wonder if the people who design these devices ever actually use them for real for any length of time.
The worst thing about it, is that i can buy a 1$ phone with a locking thats even better than this.
People have been screaming about this since the birth of WM, but M$ dont seem to be hearing this.
I have set Start->Settings->System->Button Lock-> Lock all ........power Button
Set a 4 digit password in NiceStart and mapped it to the 4 action buttons right under the screen.
Works great, but the screen will from time to time light up (M$ thing that it must do) to check the battery status. This cant be stopped in any way.

Turning off the phone but leaving GPS on. Is it possible?

I was wondering is it possible to switch off the phone but leave gps on?
I am using Artemis as GPS on my motorcycle. It is annoying when phone starts ringing while you ride. Because of my annoying girlfriend I missed two exits of a motorway before she stoped ringing .... and well GPS told me that I missed them after she stopped. Artemis is in my pocket so I can not look at the screen. Also I am not mad to hold a bike with 1 hand at 80mph+ to look at screen or reject the call by pressing a button(not duable in gloves any how) .
Can't you just switch off the phone via the Comm Manager? I can't imagine that this will affect the GPS Reception, since they have to be two different aerials and devices?!

why turn phone off, cause its getting to hot...
there are two ways:
1. u can block the phone number for a while if you dont want to talk..
2. u shedule the phone for 3 times ringing it will take the call automaticaly..

I'm in the same situaiton, use the Orbit GPS in my pocket, eaphone running to my ear when on the motorbike. Verbal TomTom is just enough. I just turn off the phone function in the com manager to stop calls. Works fine.
I do switch off my phone from comm manager and my GPS stops working at the same time.
Maby it's something with my MDA . Well I'll keep on trying.

Is there anyway to just shut off the phone's radio so that everything else
such as BlueTooth, WiFi, Ifrd still stays active? I know that with certain
OS ROMs such as Dutty's WM6 v2 you can control each item without
affecting the other. If you used "flight mode" I think that would kill your
BT connection assuming you're using a BT GPS.
As i said, when i simply switch off the Phone in Comm Manager, no other device is affected, Bluetooth works fine, as well as GPS Reception and TomTom.
I got fed up of fumbling around, pressing the screen by accident when it was in my pocket and just ordered a Ram Mount Aqua Box for the bike so that I can see TomTom and use the touch screen as well:
http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-hol-aq2.htm
There's a base that bolts on to one of the clipons on the triple clamp, with the arm joining the base and box. Not cheap, but it lets you do you what you need to with the phone and keeps it dry.
If you are looking at them, don't be tempted to get the smaller box though - the artemis will fit inside, but the surround on the touchscreen membrane means that you can't get to all of the buttons or the edge of the screen. Works an absolute treat with a pair of Shure E2C earphones which block out the road noise. Only downside it's a bit fiddly getting the helmet on and off.
Been looking at the Interphone too, basically a bluetooth headset for your helmet which will also double as a wireless intercom, but I think the jury's still out

I got the bracket that bolts on to the clip-on clamp:
http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-b-309-1.htm
I've got a thundercat which has clip ons rather than handlebars. If you've got standard handlebars rather than clipons then I would say a u bolt is the type of clamp you want.
Hi all, with regards to the gps function being 'turned off' when in flight mode. It just seems to be a quirk with the latest version of TomTom.
Managed to get around it tho
If you choose the 'inbuilt gps' from tomtoms menu then, in flight mode tomtom wont use the gps....bit daft eh!
If you choose 'other cabled' gps from tomtoms menu (com4) then tomtom will use the gps function whether you are in flight mode or not..
Hope that helps

Phone ring stops if wheel is scrolled

I had this with Schaps 4.01 and now with a new rom (can't recall ATM but not sure it matters since this is happening with 2 different roms).
When I'm getting an incoming call, the phone starts ringing and immediately stops if I turn the thumbwheel. This is usually accidental as I'm pulling the phone out of the pocket, but very unnerving as I don't know whether I've hung up, answered, or still need to answer.
Is the wheel supposed to make a sound that's somehow canceling out the current sound being played?
Is this a setting that can be changed or a "feature"? Or a bug?
I believe this is a feature. like most phones, when you hit 'down' it silences the ring.
it's a good thing.
-bZj
Yup, it's a feature.
I use it quite often when people call that I don't want to talk to at the time.
This way they don't know that I am ignoring them, as it continuous "ringing" silently.
I am not aware of a way of turning this off.
So if you accidentally hit the scroll wheel, then just look at the screen to see if you've hung up or still need to answer? That usually solves it for me right there..
That is correct.
This is not even a noob question. Check your device manuals.

Any way to keep screen off all the time until top power button pressed?

More than half the time I take my phone out of it's case in my pocket to check texts or call somebody, it's always on and eating battery. Alot of the time I have the phone in vibrate or silent because I can't have it going off most of the day, and whenever I get any kind of notification the screen comes on (text, alarm, call, ect.), and then the screen ends up staying on because it's constantly being bumped and never has the time to shut itself down.
Is there any way I can make the screen stay off at ALL times (except on an incoming call), and ONLY come on when I press the unlock/power button on the top of the phone?
I have a TMobile TP2 and I'm running the Nov. 19th, Photon Energy ROM. Upgrading to the Nov. 27th version when it's done downloading but I don't think that will fix the problem as I've changed ROMs before. Thanks to any help.
you will find that when in the case it should be off, on taking the phone out of the case (i assume the HTC one that came with the phone?)
the magnet in the case triggers the keyboard sensor which turns the screen on.
otherwise, you can change the display time out in power options under settings.
Cheers
Steve
That's interesting, I've heard about the case doing that but never thought about it. Would you recommend any cheap cases, or is there a specific magnet location I should be careful of? And do you know if there is a way to keep the screen off when I get a text message for example?
There is a way to fix this... it is to disable "Wake on Slide." I have done this and no more problems.
Here is a link to what to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2945249&postcount=3
Hope it helps you, as it did me.
Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the help, but I don't really have a problem with the wake on keyboard slide, it seems that if the phone is in my pocket locked, and I get a text message, the screen comes on to notify me that I have a text message. Then, it's usually being bumped around in my pocket and since the touch screen is usable with any object, it will stay on because something will tap it in my pocket. The phone then heats up over time and drains battery. I want to find a way to keep the screen off at all times unless, I either receive a call, or push the power button. Thanks.

Try:
go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
change DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1 (0 will wake up the device)
On my Rhodium, it does not wake up by default. I hear the notification, but my screen remains dark
Or try this cab file ... soft reset after install
Thanks for the .cab, I'm restarting now to see if it fixes the problem. Kind of random, but I might as well ask here before starting a new thread. I started using Mobile Shell instead of TF3D and so far I love it, but when setting a wallpaper, the wallpapers that I would normally use in TF3D, (480x800), it makes me select or crop out part of the photo to use as a background in Mobile Shell. I can't tell if it actually gets blurry (I would think so, because it's stretching the picture), but does anyone know why it wants me to only use a certain portion of the background instead of just setting the entire picture? Thanks,
More than likely, the version of Mobile Shell you have is either not designed for WVGA or there is a setting somewhere in there that allows you to change it and you haven't found it yet.
Am not a expert on mobile Shell, but according to their website, the latest version (3.5) does support WVGA.
Another option is to, if you have Adobe Photo shop or something similar, scale down the entire picture to the size it reccomends.
Otherwise, if you have a version earlier then 3.5, maybe you could upgrade and see if it makes any difference.

Vibration?

Anyone know how to get the screen back that I saw at set up about how long the vibration would go for? Also, Is there a way to increase intensity on this watch?

Download the app, 'Feel the Wear' by Martin Florek. Allows you to customize your vibrations.
As for intensity. Not possible to alter. That is a hardware fix. But with the app, you can make the vibration last longer than normal, making it more obvious when a notification comes in.
Does anyone find that the vibration is noisy?
I don't know if this is my unit but when it vibrates in a silent room it's audible from a few meters. Vibration strengh is definitely weaker than my 1st gen moto 360.
If it's my unit, I'll ask for a replacement coz I barely feel the vibration.

It's like that for everyone. I have the mesh band which helps since it is metal and can be worn tighter than the link band.
Thanks. IMO the first purpose of a smartwatch is to make sure you get notifications. Therefore I decided to send it back as it was a deal breaker for me. Too bad...really liked the design (black stainless steel )
Vibrator is VERY noisy, I was surprised.
thanks all.

I tried that feel the wear and it tears through battery, but after wearing a watch, which I have not done since mobile became a thing, I find I look at the watch often enough to catch anything I did not feel so I'm good. It's so nice to only pull my phone out to pay for things, now I wait until my phone replaces my keys and eventually the watch can do all that the phone can, pay for things and unlock doors and start cars.
It seems that "Feel The Wear" doesn't show the notification card, it only vibrates. Does anybody have it work with the card popping-up at the same time as the vibration? Or anybody had the same problem and got a solution?
Axello
I have very weak vibrations too, and it is very annoying.
The purpose of the watch is to notify me of appointments, emails and calls.
"Feel the Wear" ..... I am not sure what it does if anything.
If does not have very good documentation.
Change the pattern, length of vibrations how ??? "Feel the Wear" does not say.
There is a list of 100 or so applications .... I am supposed to manually edit them and which ones.

Thanks for the tip !!
Why is the vibration so loud lol. I just got the watch yesterday. I wore it to work today and I got three notifications at once and it was way too loud in a silent room. Kinda embarrassing loud. I love this watch but hate the vibrate. I see people have asked this question but I didn't see a solid answer besides rooting it and installing a custom kernel. Is there a way to turn off all vibrations for the watch on a global level? I can live without vibrations but I need notifications.
i dont know what happened. since the update to 1.5, sothing strange is hapening to watch. suddenly begins to to vibrate then stop, the begin again without any reason. dont know if it´s a watch problem, firmware problem... it´s not a constant vibration.. i can not explain exactly. Anyone can help me ? regards

I had that issue since unboxing on July 17th, but not since a factory reset because I unpaired my phone within the watch's settings. I did not connect it to Bluetooth only through android wear and it's working great. I guess I can't make calls but I don't mind. It's working great now.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
I have another type of issue. From time to time watch stops vibrating at all and start vibrating again without a reason. I cannot see any behavior pattern in it, but they don't vibrate even in process of loading after reboot. Is it hardware problem? I've tried "Feel the wear" app - no effect, watch just not vibrate when I press "try" button.
update: It starts work after I hardly shake my wrist and work for a hour or two.
