Use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller to map one of the volume keys to the "Enter" key when in the camera application.

I've been searching forever for a low memory application that lets you map the close app to a button on the phone. The closest thing ive found is wisbar lite but i really dpnt wanna install that.
ae button plus lets you do it
never heard of it can you give me the link? thanks for the quick responce
PHM Keys
PHM Keys will work as well to assign Close to a button:
http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/Keys/
Although the app shows as having been built in 2004, it works perfectly on every device I've tried (up to and including Hermes). The Alt+Tab option for a button is pretty handy sometimes too.
http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html try this and you will never use x button that comes with the phone..it was option for mapping a button as well
also this link has a zip to map the launcher to open and close apps..

I've been Using SoftsKey And you can map The Soft Key to Close apps...As far as Using a Hardware Button Like on the side of the Hermes. The apps Mentioned abov Work well.
Can PHM Keys assign the real closing feature of X-button to the OK button?

Is there any way to map a a hardware key (or better yet, a long-key press) to camera action? I miss my the camera button the most from my wizard.
Start > Settings > Personal > Buttons.
I have my PTT button mapped to my camera but I'm using the Tilt2. I don't think the TP2 has one of those though =/
Thanks for the tip.
I can use buttons to load the camera application, but i still need to hit the screen to take a picture. Is the functionality different on your Tilt2? Ideally i would like to have a hardware button for the camera action.
On the tilt2 I can press the same hardware button that launches the camera to take a picture. Not sure about the functionality difference though
Try looking for the "Keyboard Config" app. I forget where I got it, but it lets you remap any buttons to anything.
It may be a restriction of the rom (deepshining). Thanks for confirming it should work

i just set the favorite "star" button to be the shutter, in Settings->Button
The Enter key actually acts as the shutter button in the Camera application.
Use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller to map any key you want to this key.

yeah, dont know what I was thinking yesterday. Meant to say I mapped the *camera* to the star key, and shutter with the Enter key
In fact, I dont think tapping on the screen is a good way to take photo, i would rather use the volume key or ptt key to do it? any one can help? thanks a lot!!!!
I have used the key remap to remap, but i dont know how to assign the key to a tapping on the screen.....................
if you use the rhodiumkeyboardcontroller found in /themes and apps/software worth installing on tp2, alls you have to do is use it to map the camera application to your push to talk button. where it asks you to assign a program, just take it to /windows/start menu/programs/multimedia/camera.ink or whatever path from win/start menu/ progs that leads you to camera.ink depending on how your start menu is arranged. then your ptt button will open your camera application, and pushing it again will take a photo. and you wont have to hold the ptt button like you do the onscreen button to take a pic.
Does anyone know an application to change (selective like for Acrobat Reader or other non audio apps) the function of the volume keys to a scroll function (eg. up/down with „single click“ and left/right with „double click“)? Perhaps via „/system/usr/keylayout/“
Sorry bro, but I only know about scrolling through volume keys in web browser.
Has anyone tried remapping the Camera Key to take Screenshots, outside Camera app ofcourse.
Could you show me how, I don't wanna use an app for it, just edit some system files. I've tried ButtonRemapper but it didn't work.
Thank you!
Edit: I would also like to know how to switch menu key and long press home key
Were you able to find a solution?
I wanted to do something similiar. I wanted to remap the camera key to lockscreen. Simliar feature to the Galaxy models where they have a dedicated convenience key on the right side to lock the deivce
