I have a new Tilt 2 (my last was the Tilt) from AT&T and I have been searching for a new dialer pad with bigger buttons. Unlike the original Tilt, the buttons aren't terrible but I would like them to be a bit bigger. Once upon a time, I installed the PaulyA dialer for the Tilt and I was wondering if there was a similarly large version for the Tilt2. I have tried several that had the wrong resolution (apparently not WVGA) but I can't find one that seems to work for the Tilt2.
I found a iPod look-alike that was kinda cool (lost the link) but it wouldn't replace the stock dialer, it was a separate app that had google voice (not what I need).
I found the Insoft Phone 5 product, but it seems to have issues with Caller ID. I was also looking for something that was either free OR was available in US $.
I also found the Dark Rhodium Touch Pro 2 Dialer but the buttons are just black and do not seem to be any bigger.
I understand that the smart dialer takes up a lot of real-estate but I would gladly sacrifice a couple of entries for bigger buttons.
BTW, I did run a search with some keywords but maybe I have missed the thread. If I have, please accept my apologies in advance.
Have you looked at Iconsoft PhonEx 2.2? One of the best dialers out IMO full screen contact pic ID and full screen dialer.

try the forums for Happy tapping keyboard, its a bigger keyboard with an iphone skin thats ok for a child's fingers in portrait(most keyboards are like this) and alot better in landscape.....

If you mean a Phone Keypad with T9 functionality, you can install Phone Pad. Search for the cab in XDADev and choose one of the versions - there's the original from HTC, a Gray skinned one and a Touch themed one available for download.
Phone pad is what you want, although i find if you are a fast typer the touch screen might give you grief. But its worth a try

been looking around about customising my Touch HD but a little unsure if a different theme can help me here, I really like the current theme I have; which is just default with some extra taskbar icons; simple but effective!
Thing is I want to add notes or reminders or something to the today screen, so I can view things at a glance without having to add them to the calendar, things like a reminder to pick up some beers on the way home, or a reminder to go post some letters or even a shopping list! Though I'm pretty sure I saw an app somewhere around that was called shopping list, would ideally like to be able to dismiss reminders etc by touching them then confirming or something similar, so I can check stuff off as I've done it easily..... at the moment I only have Call history and Calendar on the today screen; anyone know of a way to edit what is displayed on the today screen?
EDIT: I just realised this makes me sound a complete moron lol, I mean being able to add things to the TF3D today screen, otherwise i'd just use the winmo version, however I really like the touchflo interface just wish there was more customisation available!
Also if I download an iphone theme (just to confuse the mac fanboys at uni...) can I easily switch between that and my current theme after a soft reset or something? Or does it involve me editing it via the activesync?

It might be better for you to install something like second today or touchflo detacher.. that way you can switch between touchflo and your iphone theme at the touch of a button..
or you can use the second today to put all the information you want on the winmo today screen.. the screen real estate on the HD is amazing.. and then map your iphone theme to another program and have all three hotswapping on the touch of a button.
Personally I think part of the beauty of touchflo is the lack of clutter on each tab.. adding too much to the homescreen defeats the object.

Agreed. I use 2ndToday & PocketBreeze, activated by the left soft key on the TF3D home page.
hmmm did want to just have it all there to be seen as soon as I turned on the phone, tho after reading more extensively around the internet I see it's just not possible at the moment. However I'll hold out hope that one day it'll be possible!
Might try that 2nd today screen thing, might be a bit of a pain to have to flip between them but hey... needs must. Might also look into properly customizing it to look snazzy as I've seen a lot of peoples today screens look rather nice!
In practice it's not a pain... it's a touch screen so it becomes habit to touch the button or slide the slider as you pick up your phone in one motion.
I did have a go with slide2unlock but it didnt seem to work properly, might have to play with it some more.
Have been modifying TP2 with many registry changes etc. Running WM6.1
However, seem to have "lost" part of the standard dialer and have trolled through the forums trying to find what files and .dll are being used by the DEFAULT dialler.
The HTC dialler works fine but I do not like it, so when swapping back to the default dialer, the buttons and keys are there, but where the list of previous numbers should be is just a grey area with no entries. Selecting any area WILL bring up the call record as normal.
I must have deleted\edited\corrupted something..........but even looking through back-ups, can not find a clue!
Otherwise, any clues on JUST a plug in dialer (everything I find seems to be a full package with today and other stuff) - I like the dialler on the TYTN2 - both for size and colour and am trying to replicate this if possible.
Colours and size are good for tapping when driving as here in UK must NOT hold a phone as illegal!
ANy clues on files/which registry keys hold the colours for the HTC keypad etc. would be useful as doesn't seem to be HKLM\security\phone\skin[/QUOTE]

I've searched the market and am coming up empty. Does anyone know of a good full screen dialer replacement app for Android? I love the style of the dialer app on Sense, with its high-res full screen contact pictures. I tried Full-screen Dialer on the market, but it constantly FC's on CM7 7.04RC so I'm back at square one.
Any ideas, suggestions?

look in the market for Full screen caller ID... i been using it for a while now worked fine on CM7 RC4... Pyro 2.0... and now on MIUI OSI... you can set tru HD pictures for the contacts and they come up BEAUTIFULLLL

I've got three suggestions for you:
AContact: Clean optic, especially if the GUI is switched to black and there is also an option, to give contact-Groups (e.g. Family, Co-Workers...) their own Ringtone just by one click.
TouchPal Dialer: Looks like Sense, works well, nothing special
TAKEphONE dialer: The only payed dialer in this post. I like the transparent GUI, working well. The widget is a bit crappy if you like the sense or Launcher Pro people widget.
One thing is common to all these three suggestions: if you are using the dialpad ist the callbutton in the best position: bottom middle, not like Dialer One left of the number you have dialed.

OK, I've gotten a lot of great results, but none of these really touch on what I'm looking for.
I'd like a Full-Screen Caller ID app. I have so much screen space, why have to see tiny pictures when people call me? I need big ass pictures. Sense UI does this by default but none of these dialer apps seem to have good options for Full-screen high-res caller ID, and thats the principle feature I'm searching for.
