upgrade win2003SE

Hi All
New here so please be kind,
I have an O2 IRL XDA II and wish to update this to the new win version above, I did manage this but lost all conenction settings for MMS, WAP and gprs when done.
Is there some file(Cab?) that can be installed after the fresh install to give me these settings again and if so how is it run?

You must take the file from any one from your friend have a PPC phone edition that runs on win 2003 se
you need the program that opens extended rom and I think you have it , so open your extended rom by clicking on start - programs - extrom tools - unhide and unlock , after that restart your device and open your file explorer and you will see there's extended rom direcory revealed , open it and you will see extended rom installation program file there , copy it to your friend device ,install the extended rom program on his device and open his extended rom like what you did on your device ( don't click on unlock , it will show error on his device ) and you will see his files and the file setting for mobile telecommunications
companies copy the file you want on your extended rom and open your config file that inside the exteded rom directory and add list as list above ( cab ://my device/extended_rom/ (your file name.cab ) )
it will be installed after hard reset automatically

hi...im using an xda2, not upgraded, on the o2 network here in dublin. If i can help, just ask. How did the upgrade go?...was it worth it?...did u get wmp10?.....im thinking of doing it, but would like some feedback first...

I am a new imate JAM user... I had 1.03 version rom and I upgraded to 1.06 from imate site.. my imate is working fine..
But as I gone thru this forum... I heard of WM2005 beta version is released... I have downloaded the software with Active sync 4.0 but I am hesitant to try with my new imate JAM.. is it trust worthy and can I upgrade my wM2003 SE to this new one..

Hi Im new in a XDA world, i upgraded my xda II with a 1.72 a uk version and it works ok but i realize that i have downloaded the wrong rom update because im from the philippines could you help me with the rom upgrade from asia could you give me the site where i can download for me many thanks guys. and 1 more thing, how can i set the mp3 as ring and in message alert tone. i really appreciate with your help could you help me guys asap i cannot use my xda thanks.

Upgrading PDA2K to WM05

I did succesfuly upgrade my PDA2K (Blueangel) from wm03 to Wm05, the question is: in order to get good Arabic support, which rom version should i use knowing that i dont have an ext rom version currently running on my device, add to that real player isnt working properly on my device.
Please advice :roll:

@ bakhour: imaginate arabizer seems to work with Ivan's rom, but from what I read on arabic sites, upgrading + arabizer some times causes stabuility problems, I prefer not to upgrade.

Dears, I downloaded the WM5 for my PDA2K from the subject of Lt.Cmdr.Ivan (thanks to him) and it is working just fine in English (I hanven't tried all functions yet).
I tried all difrent versions of Arabic even the one that comes with the ETen, please see the attached files I found suitable (even the Arabic Keyboard looks great).
Please try WM5_PDA2K_Arabic1.ZIP first, if it does not work then try
Please try WM5_PDA2K_Arabic2.ZIP

Dears, after more testing, I found this with PDA2K:
(Logout_WM2K5_5.4.03_HN) is VERY fast and reliable.
(Helmi_WM2k5_AKU3.2_32mb_v1.3.1) is fast, reliable, and looks great.
For Arabic use:
IMAGINET Arabizer Suite2 B342
The PDA2K should work just fine, but the Activesync still got some issues, thanks to My friend Life Dream from ce4arab.

Downgrade Artemis back to WM5

Hello to all
i've tried different WM6 Roms but i'm noct convinced to use it yet.
That's why i'm trying to find a way to downgrade to WM5.
I know that there are several how-tos but none worked yet.
I already tried the opposite way via uspl to downgrade. no success yet.
WM5 Rom is here, when trying to downgrade i get the error message 260 which means no connection to the device. i'm using the same machine for downgrading as for upgrading, nothing but the Rom on the phone has changed.
Currently i'm using the o2-xda-orbit german rom.
If anybody has a clue what to do to get the old stuff back, thx in advance

You can downgrade your O2 Orbit successfully if you have Original German ROM (WM5) which is available somewhere in this forum. I can't remember which thread but if you do some search I am sure that you will find it.

I own a HTC P3300 Artemis.
Using USPL and the original o2 german wm6 rom i flashed it with WM6.
I already downloaded a german wm5 rom, my problem right now is that i cannot by any unknown circumstances get this rom on my phone.
No matter whether i use uspl before trying to flash the original rom or if i don't use uspl the result remains the same.
The update utility keeps telling me that it is not possible to connect to my smartphone.
Active Sync/ Mobile devices center connection is working fine though.

Don´t know why but it seems alot have experienced this prob.

I have bought a htc3300 from a dealer that i find at skroutz but after 1 day i had lost the 2nd language keyboard so i took it back to the dealer to fix the problem he said that wm6 is free to upgrade so let passed it but he put the touch htc software that don't work good how can i downgrade to wm5 again please help it's only 2 days mobile !!!!

The UPLS is not a ROM??
When you run UPLS it sets the CID registration, so you can flash any ROM you want - but offcouse you still have to get the ROM

you 're right after upsl you can downgrade or upgrade... many tnx for info...

download the rom from HP support site, and re-flash it on a non-vista computer --- should work.

How can I update the ROM of Ipag 914c to change the language.
My original language of my phone is French so I want change it into English(international).

Same question. Change language. This is not possible by Hp update NL->WWE.
I've extracted flash.nbf file from setup then cut the first 3431 bytes then copied to sd card as flash.dio.

What keys i should hold for sdloader mode volup-ok-reset didn't work for me. Only when i press side wheel with ok then i was get is Dowloading Qualcomm Image at top of screen then nothing happen...
please give some advice what can i do to change language.

I upgraded my Ipaq 914c with original ROM from HP and i have same results. DEAD.

I do the same mistake...
problem is windows Vista. So, please charge you phone to min 40% and try to update with original ROM from HP site but on Windows XP.
Flash is passed and you phone has been alive....

and one more thing i had the same problem in hp rw6815 so one of our forum member gave me an RUU patched which really worked an it was very easy an effective so if anyone can provide sthe same kind of RUU patched for the ipaq 914c i be really very greatful to him

Bricked Ipaq 914C

I've bricked my 914C during an upgrade (for up. in italian sp43440.exe) i've forgotten my sd card inside and now the device became a brick!
When i turn on the 914 the writing "RUU...." appears and remains stuck on this screen. When I want to turn off the phone i must to remove the battery.
I tried to follow the following guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511548 but i don't have XP, only Vista, which doesn't work with the information reported.
Please help me!

White screen at start up
I had that white screen problem. I tried many ways but failed. At last I read the manual and found this simple method which worked well for me. "Switch off, Remove battery and install battery after 30 secs." I don't know if it can solve your problem as you fiddled with ROM. But no harm in trying.
