I started this thread because since 6.1 one came out and sms is threaded. I have wanted to have mms/sms combined and both be threaded together like what I had with the palm messaging app.
I guess its just personal preference I dunno but I want to have my entire conversations whether they be pics etc to all be together. I have searched for awhile to find a arcsoft that works.
Is anyone else interested in this?
I too would love to have sms/mms all threaded together. It would sorta make messaging a bit more seemless. what version of arcsoft will do this?
personaly i would like to see the results of a poll done on this question...
your preferance:
threaded sms
threaded sms/mms (combined)
non threaded (but combined sms/mms)
non threaded (seperate sms/mms folders)
Yes plz
I think it is so much better to have them together.
Would love to see it it is cheaper in South Africa to send long MMS text than it is to send long text(SMS) messages.
It has been one of my favourite things so far when test the new WM 6.1 ROMS
It seems I finally may have found one that works. I haven't had a lot of time to test it but it appears to send and receive MMS fine. I probably should start another topic. I can't get the voice message part of it to work I'm not sure what app I need to make that work but it looks cool.
Makes no sense having them separate.
I'm getting my ass kicked here at work so its taking me awhile to get things going but so far today I have sent and received at least 10 MMS pics etc and they all have went through fine and are threaded..
Really pleased with my deal, T-Mobile UK, £15 a month, 600 minutes, unlimited internet, unlimited texts, and free phone for 18months contract.
Thought I would share that with you first as I'm REALLY impressed with that deal! (been with them over 5 years now mind!)
I had a quick question, as I've been using an iPhone and switching over. . . The friend stream and things like that, can they be changed to say a dedicated twitter application and dedicated facebook application. I dont generally use them in conjunction with each other and was just curious.
Also, the app space was a bit of a concern for me. Is the 119mb that is available really enough? I'm used to installing a lot of apps with the iPhone and just wondering what others experiences where with it...
Thanks guys!
To answer one of your question below: YES!
You dont have to install that FriendStream widget (I wont!).
You can find dedicated Facebook app, for example from Facebook.com itself:
http://www.facebook.com/mobile/?ref=pf
I prefer to access via web browser
There are coupld of twitter clients, you might search it here:
http://www.cyrket.com/search?q=twitter&market=android
People says this is one of the best:
http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/nebbie.twitter.appone/
And it is only $2

Ah so each individual screen is a widget. That makes sense now.
Its good to know that. I like the individual applications on the iphone and got used to that. I'm just hoping the native applications will be as good as the iphone's (i used twitteriffic and the native facebook app).
They are the main things I use it for (Guess its a bit sad! lol).
Cant wait to get my hands on it on tuesday and have a play with it!
if you use just facebook, you can install the FriendsStrem and use facebook only with it you dont have to sign in/have twitter, or other things .. that is if like the widget itself.
if you like to use normal applications (not widgets) than there are separate apps for them (and i believe Desire comes ships with them, Facebook app and peep "for twitter")
I was thinking of trying that but the friendstream just for twitter as I dont know how much information that it updates (new pictures etc).
With the applications do they have to be downloaded using the phone itself, or can they be downloaded and installed from the memory card? Not too the memory card, but if i downloaded them on my computer somehow...
I'm still trying to read up about the android OS and how it works.
Glad i've learned how to sync my gmail contacts accross for when i get it! That will save a lot of time entering numbers.
Got my phone this morning and the friend stream is AMAZING. Means that you can view all updates and when you lick on one it takes you to the native application.
I Think I love this phone! haha.
Your Desire should have official facebook app and Peep (Twitter Client) pre loaded... Mine did...
Must say though I do like the friends stream!
Yeah it came with them! After reading some reviews on the applications i honestly didnt think hat they would be as good as the iphone, and after switching from a 3GS I can say that this is a LOT faster doing things, from web browsing to loading applications and photos.
Everything just scrolls so smoothly. I'm sure this is a dream! haha
FYI.. there are a lot of Facebook and Twitter apps on the market and believe the following are the best off...
Facebook
Official App
Bloo
Babbler
Twitter
Twidroid
Seesmic
I believe you should be able to see all these on the market...
yeah, is it ok that im in england and any prices are displayed in $ ?
Seems a bit odd!

Fine, when you get to the pay screen it will give you a approx converted price as well, remember that your bank may charge a £1 for overseas transaction on a Credit or Debit card...
Also... you have 24 hours to uninstall and refund if your not happy with the app...
Thats actually a great idea of not being happy with the app. Been a fair few applications bought on the iphone that i hated after using!
basically, as the thread title states, i am looking for an app to take advantage of free internet sms services that send sms to german mobiles, like 5vor12 or sms.de
i searched the market and all it comes up with are free replacements for the stock sms app, but nothing to actually send free sms with. i do of course use whatsapp for friends and colleagues with an android or fruitphone, but i's have to pay quite a lot to reach the ones on dumbphones. on winmo there was a sms.de app and that is the only one i am missing on android so far. in my region i only get edge and accessing the websites is quite annoying and takes ages.
Sup.
So, today while searching for a replacement for my stock texting app, I stumbled on KiK. Being silly, I misread that you could text people that were non- kik members from the app itself, so I happily downloaded it and ...was sorely disappointed.
My question is if anyone, ANYONE, could help me find something or someone to develop a theme VERY CLOSE to KiK's. I love the screen and how simple it is. I am not in need of a free texting service as I can afford unlimited etc, so I just want something that looks or CAN look VERY similar to KiK to replace my stock...please, can ANYONE help me?
(yes I have tried handcent and chomp and I have GoSMS Pro, but they aren't exactly what I am looking for though if someone knows any themes for GO SMS pro that looked similar or such let me know!)
Thankyou!
New G3 owner here, been hacking my Galaxy nexus for 2.5 years. However, this is a small issue I've run into, and hopefully someone knows about it. The email widget defaults to, and as far as I can see, only allows a 'combined inbox' view. I have two email accounts but really only want the widget to monitor the work email. It used to be when you started up the widget, it would ask for the view you wanted, but now it just drops on the homescreen showing combined inbox. Anyone have any idea about how to configure it? Is it still possible?
