Problem with memroy space on my cell - HTC Excalibur

Hi there !
First of all just wanted to say i have a card of 8 gigs of memory on my cell.
And i keep on getting this message when i try to copy files on my cell :
Cannot copy File.txt: There is not enough free disk space.
Delete one or more files to free disk space and then try again.
So i did deleted a lot of file to free up like 400 megs.
Still the same message.
I can't neither take picture or videos cause it gives me the same message !
Any ideas on what is causing this ?

Most likely the not enough memory is due to your RAM, try freeing up RAM memory in your phone. You can do that in Celetask. For pictures and videos, in camera mode, set up your phone to store picture and video onto memroy card instead of phone memory.
Good luck,

Touch Pro 2 sms memory

Is it me or does this thing fill up really fast? any want to store sms on the sdcard.
Why do you think it's your SMS that's occupying all the storage space?
Some crude math:
-Given 100 MB of storage (this is a conservative figure, you should have much more than this)
-Given each SMS is 2 kb (this is a generous figure; many of my SMS are less than 1 kb)
In this scenario you should have enough space for over 400,000 messages...
Sorry, if you do have that many messages, you need to delete 75% of them. You're never going to refer back to them...
I keep getting a notification saying "delete some messages your memry is full"
or something along those lines and i checked the memery on the phone and it sais like 10 mb free!! wtf

75%!? it would take an age to read 100,000 messages!

ya i have this phone for a couple days...........
Haha, yeah, I should've said "you need to delete 99.9% of them". That would still leave you with about 400.
So are you saying you really have that many messages clogging your inbox? Can it be that it's just because you are saving multimedia files in your storage memory rather than on the SD card?
I have a sdcard 8gb calss 6. but I dont have any mms. all i know is that is says
Storage
total: 260.29
in use: 251.64
free 8.65
is this because only the sms? Also does anyone know how to auto save sms to sd? like on my g1? my g1 was the first phone i ever had that could keep like thousands of sms. and if not is there a better way to delete..
How do I check what exactly is saved on the phone memory, as opposed to how much is used.
So I just deleted like 500 txt messages, and the phone memory is still at 8 mb. what am I doing wrong?
Is your memory problem with emails/email attachments and not sms messages perhaps? Go to your email account "options" and then to the storage tab. It will show you the current size of your email attachments, and whether or not you have them saved to device memory or your storage card.
ya i have em saving to sd card

Memory Full on Tilt 2 AFTER Deleting Messages

I keep getting the "Memory Full" message, even though I've deleted enough stuf to give me roughly 5 MB of free space. I can't even receive new texts. I did a soft reset and it worked for a while before the "Memory Full" message popped up again. As for emails, they are read then purged from the phone (but kept on my pc). A lot of pictures have been moved to my microSD card. I'm now up to a little over 6 MB in free space, but the message still pops up.
How can I fix this and stop this annoying popup???
First I would get as many programs as you can to the SD card, I would also delete all the att bloatware, and get Total Comander and retweak all mail and texts to SD card.
Also this may be a simple fix, but after you deleted your messages did you go to the delted items folder and clear all deleted ?
delete your web browsing cache... I've heard that takes up a lot of storage.

I sure did. After it was emptied I got up to 6 MB of free space. I'll try your other suggestions one I get home tonight.

i got the same problem at the moment with the memory on my phone. it says its full but i dont know what to get rid of to clear it. ive deleted web browser cache and history, i have evan got rid of my emails which seems ****ing pointless of having this phone now. ive kept everything on my memory card so i am confused now of what to delete.

"Data Recovered." Anybody else get this error?

Frustrating. Lost my contact history, messages, pinned tiles.Linked contacts gone.
The phone just shut off by itself, on turning it back on, i got this message
Seems like error on internal memory - in this case 'tis SD card. It could have died... check settings -> about, how much space does it show (both total and free).
I agree with the last post it seems to be memory, it could be the micro SD card or the card holder not making good contact with the card, if this happens again I would take the phone back if it is still under warranty.
And about your contacts, if you synced your phone with your windows live account the next time you sync all your contacts will come back, and if you look in zune you can see all your apps and you will be able to re-download them, some apps will automatically come back when you sync. Hope this helps.
It's not the memory card. My sync'd Music shows up fine. Only issue is with the apps and my contacts, messages. AFAIK, the contacts/messages are saved on the main memory.
The amount of total storage:14.63gb
:\
The way windows phone 7 memory works is, when you first inscert a new memory card windows will ask you to format the card and when you do this it creates a raid like image called span, that means it and the onboard memory becomes one. so your onboard memory may be bad or you might have a bad block on the memory card. Have you got this error again? or is it still giving you the error?

Nope, Just happened once.
I had this error quite a couple of times now, most definitely due to my device having some sort of hardware failure. But I never lost any apps, media or even save games. All I lost were contacts, emails and e-mail settings. I just had to set up these from scratch and I was fine again.

[Q] SD Card 0 and storage space

I took a bunch of pictures and videos on my phone and I got a message in the middle of taking a pic saying that my storage space was running out and it would store the rest on the data on my external (32GB). I continued to take photos thinking that they would just save on my external. When I tried to go to the gallery app to see all the pics that I took I got another message saying (something along the lines of) some system functions will not work delete apps and data to free up disk space.
I checked my phone storage and it says I have just over 35 GB of pictures and videos. I'm not sure if that's split between SD card 0 and my external. After I deleted a ton of applications just to free up enough space to open my gallery, I only had 155 pictures and 3-4 videos. I know for a fact that there are a ton more. Are my photos gone forever? Is there any way to recover them?

"Not enough space" on Galaxy Ace II

Hi guys. I tried to browse for answers regarding this issue, but I couldn't find anything that worked for me,
I've gotten to a point where any time I either download a single picture from Whatsapp or take a photograph with my phone, I get the "There's not enough space in your device memory". I discovered that neither deleting apps nor moving them to my SD card had any effect on this. This is very frustrating. I have double checked every single folder inside "sdcard0" and there are no big files taking up space. I'm running on a stock, non-root 4.1.2.
I recently deleted around 200 - 300 pictures from my external SD card and the following time I connected the phone to my computer, I noticed the phone's memory had like 200 mb of free space that it didn't before (and yes, I was ABSOLUTELY sure those pictures where stored in my external SD). But just a couple of days after that, the space issue got even worse than before.
I found a thread made by someone with the same issue, and someone suggested to uninstall all Google Play updates. I did that, and it didn't work.
I hope you can help me find a solution. Thanks in advance.
