I've been tying to add my town to the weather tab, and all the directions are so confusing I have the weather database editor and total comander. I just cant figure out to do, can someone give me simple instructions plz?!
I use a program called Weather City Editor, and it works like a charm. It's very simple, don't have to go in and edit any files. You just run the program, select country and state, add a city, enter the info for the city, and tap the "Add" soft key.

New City does not work
Hello I even tried to add 2 cities
Weiden, GER as EUR|DE|GM002|WEIDEN
Gilching, Ger as EUR|DE|GM002|GILCHING
both are selectable. But when I try to update the weather data, I get some error message.
"During the update, there has been a connection error. Try again?" (Same for activesync, wifi and GSM connection)
I never got an update of Weiden and Gilching.
Even tried the sqlite way for adding cities.
Any hints?

Found myself a solution I have reinstalled "Wether Databese Editor" and it worked!
It seemd that the reg entry from a post I found was not correct or sufficient.

i've noticed that accuweather doesnt have the location code in the url for US cities anymore.
Try yahoo weather instead. the url for springfield,mo would be http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USMO0828.html and so the location code is USMO0828
any progress in this?

use the "mobile" link in left upper corner. Search for your citty.
If found, the link in navigation bar will contain the location code
example:
http://www.accuweather.com/m/EUR/NL/NL010/VEENENDAAL/weather.aspx
to use the Veenendaal citty add "EUR|NL|NL010|VEENENDAAL" to the list.
I was looking for this myself a while back and it seems they indeed no longer use the codes for US but zip codes. I had to format it as follows for it to work. My state is PA and zip is 19063, so substitute with yours:

The easiest place to find AccuWeather location codes is probably ForecastFox, the Firefox plugin. It has a lot more locations in it than the zipped text file which is going around. Worked for me.

just got my wonderful Blackstone and Im really enjoying it besides the usual slow non user friendly WM bugs/"features"
A problem for me just know is that I cant add my hometown Uppsala to the Weather, I surf to the accuweather site and copy the code for Uppsala and start the weather database and go to Sweden, city, add city, and I get the window up to add Uppsala but I cant paste the weather code from accuweather, there is no copy/paste function in the weather database, neither in the menus and I cant press the screen and get a "mouse" menu for that either. I have tried paste the weather code to notepad so I know its there in the memory.
Anyone got an solution?

Actually, I've done everything, step by sep, as you have advised, but neither can I see Saint Bees (UK) in the editor, nor in the TF3D.

I've tried to add a city (Squaw Valley) by using the steps stated above but to no avail.
First, I'm not getting a code in my address bar when I type in the city and state. I'm getting this instead -

So I went into the WeatherDataBaseEditor app on my device and looked at how the other US cities were put in. I typed in the same info with the exception of the city name of course.
The result is Squaw Valley is now in my listings for adding a location but the weather is incorrect and the forecast is also incorrect.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If not, and you are really so lazy you can't be arsed to type twenty characters or so, then fire up the standard windows keyboard (it has a Ctl key) and use Ctl-V to paste it in (that's what I did).

You need use the world weather site, there is a link on the US site homepage.

Why don't work on HTC Touch 3g?
I have installed the weather database editor. But when I want to open the application, I receive the follow error 'File write protection of databse could't removed'
Is there someone that me can help with slove this issue.
Any resolution to the "File write protection of databse could't removed" issue? I'm using a Touch HD.

Hi i have found that if you start the weather database editor after turning off Manila (TF3D) it works fully to add your own town! Works fine on my Dutty´s HD WM6.5 R6 Turbo WWE! If any one else get the same result, post it here soo i know that its not only my phone it works on...
yup works on topix 2.7, a note though. if you ADD a city in tf3d weather, and then select the city in world clock (to have, for example, the weather displayed in calendar), the fuse setting will be freaked up and defaulted to some african region or whatever. to have the fuse properly displayed you must EDIT an already existing city to the one you want.
Ok so to get it right easily(In my case with ÅÄÖ) i must use weather database editor to add cities and have manila turned off. And edit the file "2330fc3c_manila" in SQLite on my PC to add the timezone! But do not change the strange changes in the citynames, it will work anyway!
This is for Sweden with city names containing letters "Å,Ä,Ö"
yep, if you aint into sql editing you can edit with weather db editor an already existing city and it will have the correct timezone already
I've got a interesting problem. I've got a .reg file that I normally install to change my date format to dd/MM/yyyy. Now everytime I do this then the appointments in the calendar view of the TouchFlo3D interface dissapears... it is still in the normal windows calendar but not in the TouchFlo3D calendar (well to be spesific it is there for about half a second and then it dissapears... see the attached video). I've also attached the .reg file I'm using.
Would appreciate any help I can get on this.

Why do you have to go through all that. The regional setting in the settings menu allows you to utilize that date format? I hope I didn't mis read your comment.
Hey, don't bother with registry edits. Just change it via Advanced Config.

I've tried the Advanced Configuration tool but it gives me an error. Also read that it doesn't work with the TouchFlo3D on the TouchPro2. Also tried the regional settings but I've only got 2 settings in there. I've made some screenshots... (always better to see it yourself... according to me anyway).

Ignore the error message that pops up. Also ignore the top part of the next screen. That's the part that doesn't work with our TF3D version. Input the date format you want, tap change, tap ok, and also ignore the next error message. That should do it. Works for me.

ok so that works but it doesn't resolve my problem. It changes the settings on the frontpage of TouchFlo3D but when I open my applications then the date is still wrong on them (obviously as it is controled by Windows and not TouchFlo3D) so when I do the hack on the registry again to get the date on Windows correct then the TouchFlo3D calendar doesn't work again. Very fustrating.
As the title says. I don't use the TF3D weather in Manila 2.1, so it's just messing up my homescreen really... I would so dearly like to get rid of it, but I haven't managed to do so yet, after half an hour or more of searching. I did a regedit:
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.EnableCurrentLocation
but it didn't help setting it to 0 and soft resetting. The weather is still there, under the clock, showing me we had sun a couple months ago. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
i have found that disabling the Weather tab disables it under the clock.

The reg edit should have worked.
Turn of My location
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\weather.EnableCurrentLocation set to 0
But you need to set your clock (home screen manilla) and select my location at the clocks, not your hometown. It will just state "my location" instead of the name of your home town and not show any weather. At least that is what it does on mine.

You helped me in some way actually. Your tip about the manila clock "My location" got me on the right track. I only had "My location" there, so I added another city, selected it and fount the weather database file in Application data\HTC\database and deleted it, then selected "My location" again. Presto

You must disable TouchFlow/Sense first, delete the db file, and then re-enable TF/Sense.
