Hey all, I just made a signed package for the Nexus One boot animation but I only included the framework-res.apk and it didn't work it just showed the classic one prolly kuz thats the one in the images folder in framework-res.apk.
Then I saw all the images for the animation in the media folder of the leaked Nexus One dump anyone have any advice for me on if it is possible to make the Nexus One boot splash for the G1?
Thank you!

You mean boot animation? The splash is the screen you first see that says Tmo G1 in bold letters.
Yes sorry boot animation typo.

Well you see the boot anim wont work on roms that arent 2.0...Since animated boots dont work on donut or cupcake.
Oh ok, that was kinda what I was afraid of well I guess It maybe a long time before I see my G1 running cyanogenmod and that boot animation

You could try a eclair rom if you want, Mlign is working on a Nexus rom.
Also, the boot isn't held in framework-res.apk, that's what it defaults to if bootanimation.zip is not found in /system/media

So I know I've seen a matrix style boot animation for other phones but is there one for the Dinc? If not is there anyone that wants to make one or port one from another phone =) ?? I have no idea how to make one or port one myself. Also I don't know if it matters but I am on Sky Raider 3.0 RC3 (are all boot animations compatible with all roms?).

Yes, any boot animation made for the Incredible will work no matter what rom you have on it. The only differences are the file locations for the boot animation & sound on 2.1/2.2 are different from each other.

Awesome, I got those files downloaded but I can't figure out how to get them to work... I looked in the forum at the thread that says to put the zip file in the /system/customize/resource using root explorer and then rebooted but it just reverted to the previous boot animation i loaded from rom manager ... ???
You need to put the file in /system/customize/resource and rename it to VZW_bootanimation.zip

It depends on your Rom as to where you put it. I use SkyRaider 3.0 RC3 and I have to put it into /system/media and you also need to name it bootanimation.zip
Prefect, thanks I am using sr3 rc3 so that's exactly what I needed!

So for those who want the set up like I have it, get which ever color you want from the link above (I use the blue) and you can also grab this audio file (matrix theme song I got off of mabilo ringtones app) and put them in your /system/media folder.
**Note, this is for people rockin the sky raider roms. Also make sure the zip file is named bootanimation.zip and the audio file is android_audio.mp3 (not sure if it has to be that for the audio but that's the way I tested it and it works).
Is there anyway to combine this with the new Incredible boot animation? I think that would look so cool with the red matrix boot, then the new Incredible boot. Excellent job by the way, the animations are top quality. I've attached both animations for anyone who may know how to do this.
Im not a dev, but I can use a text editor
Here is the honeycomb boot animation to play with as we wait for our tasty honeycomb.
Just replace bootanimation.zip in system/media/ either by reflashing the rom of your choice or by any other means you might know.
once again im no dev but I did this to for myself and thought it was really cool and wanted to share.
enjoy!
A screenshot would be nice...
Thanks...

you don't need gif images, you need png images
you could simply download the zip file and resize your images to 800x480 and rename them with a numerical order and replace all the images included, zip it back up and done
This thread is dedicated for boot animation on Lulz/Tegrak kernel and should be compatible with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip
Please click on the file attachments below to download. I have also attached sample pictures.
Note:All the animated work are done by other developers, I just mod them and make sure they will work on your Lulz/Tegrak Kernel SGS 2

The update files were meant for Lulz/Tegrak kernel so those files wouldn't work with stock rom. I also have yet to try those script on CWM as well.
The easiest path right now is to install the Lulz/Tegrak kernel via odin from this thread

Question, are you familiar with ADB? Odin? Rooting? Is your SGS2 still stock?
p.s i like the minimal blue one also

The boot animation itself actually will work with most phone but these has been packaged to work with sanim.zip boot animation.
You can check your /system/media see if you have boot animation.zip or sanim.zip and just extract my sanim.zip to replace the file.

bootanimation.zip is the file name if i recall, it's a series of images that get played in sequence, pull apart the included one if you like, but to change it just replace it with another properly formed bootanimation.zip.
or is it possible to insert an animated gif instead in any way ?

Google?
Our bootanimation.zip *appears* to comply with how native Android devices handle bootani. We just put it in an unorthodox location.
So try a native bootani. Good luck - not sure I want a hand-holding, step-by-step guide on replacing the bootani tho. It's what makes XDAndroid builds XDAndroid. Our branding if you will .
haha.. as long as you dont rebrand it and call it your own, I think the team wont mind ..
Hey guys, I've tried to flash and/or manually install every iteration of the new Android L bootanimation onto the Gnex with either the result of a black bootscreen or the phone simply does not boot at all until I return the current bootanimation I have. I don't know what the issue is or what I have done wrong, I've tried modifying the dimensions with no resolution either.
So I humbly ask, could someone get a working version of the new Android L Bootanimation in flashable form for the Galaxy Nexus? Please.
I just transfered the bootabimation.zip to the correct folder while backing up the old.
I went the old fashioned way without using a flashable zip

Still doesn't work. I even did a fresh install with the bootanimation added to system/media where it's supposed to go and all I get after the Google splash is one little green pixel and then the screen stays black until the phone is booted. I have done no modifications to the bootanimation.zip on this or any of the others I have tried, I simply delete the bootanimation.zip already in system/media and then add the Android L bootanimation. It simply does not work at all. I really don't understand what the problem is. Every other bootanimation I've tried out works fine.
I have no idea then. I literally just changed the old one to bootanimation.zip.old and copied the new one over.
@Nephilim
Did you try to move it to data/local ?
I'll also mention that for me it worked on Omni FML. So unless you're using OMNI FML it could be something rom specific.

Putting the bootanimation.zip in data/local? I don't understand, I've always put it in system/media. Could you explain? I don't see a bootanimation.zip in data/local currently.
Trust me! I always do it that way. I don't remember why (some guy mentioned it in a bootanination thread), but it works for me without an issue... You may even leave the system animation, it gets ignored...

what you needed to do after pushing the zip to either data/local OR system/media was set permissions on the file correctly
rw-r--r--
