Is here a way to change/customize date format in reminders? - Windows Mobile Software Development

Hi,
for me (german) the date format is correct
- on home tab
- in calendar
- in regions options of WM 6.5
But only the reminders of appointments and tasks (Manila) show the unwanted format like e.g 12/08/2009 for today.
I would like to have e.g. 08.12.2009 as format - possible?
My value in HKLM\System\Shell\Notification\OEM\CustomUIDLL is by default "NotificationLayout.dll"
Thx.

Did you switch Manila language to german?
I did and my date format is german in WM and manila (I have a english WM 6.5 and HTC Sense)

My WM and my Manila (Sense 2.1) are both german. The reminder is also written in german, only the date format is wrong.

Manila 2.5 Polish Language cab ?

If someone have or could make corrected POLISH language files for Manila 2.5, it would be awesome. I'm using Dutty's Leo R2 ROM and after changing language in registry to Polish there are some untranslated and messed parts (for example weather type under clock on home screen - see screenshots). I've seen that someone have made a cab for Swedish language so now I'm waiting for Polish
Thank You my friends!
I think it has manila 2.1 with weather location...

Norwegian keyboard

I have searched and searched for the Norwegian language on my X1, keyboard and dictionary on the Norwegian, because I want to use the keyboard, we have extra letters as "æ" "ø" "å".
hope someone has found a solution, or can create one as soon as possible.
This is something that is very important to me in the job context.
regards

Hi Losty,
I assume that you have a Norwegian hardware keyboard in the first place.
- If you are using an non-Norwegian WM version then you will have to do a registry change to use æ,ø,å on the hardware keyboard.
Either use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) on your phone, or run an editor from your computer via ActiveSync, like the free CERegEditor (http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/).
Quote:
In the registry, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change the CurLan g value to match your language:
English: 409
Norwegian: 414
(Make sure you edit the value in hex)
- I don't think you can add the Norwegian dictionary to a non-Norwegian Windows Mobile version (anyone please correct me if i'm wrong) but you can still add words to the dictionary by typing them in as you go.
The original dictionary file is not known yet, and there are no editors avaliable either. I can't seem to find anyone who has successfully solved this issue.
The custom word dictionary file is \Windows\ "compimeh.0409.dat"
The custom dictionary in a Norwegian WM should be "compimeh.0414.dat"
I restored a copy of the "0414" from a Norwegian WM6.1 backup and replaced the original "0409" English one. I still get english word suggestions but at least my originally added words (from WM6.1 Norwegian) pops up now.
- Well if you want to set the WM language to Norwegian AND use a custom ROM, you are probably best off using something like itje's Touch-IT Xperience 21046.1.6.3 (Norwegian).
If not then you can set part of the OS (day naming, calendar, clock etc) to Norwegian by going to Settings->System->Regional Settings.
Cheers

Manila 2.5 Change Homescreen (Date & Alarm & Calendar)?

Hello what file in the Manila 2.5 will change the Dateformat in Homescreen from dd, dd.mm to ddd, dd.mm.yy. In the 2.1 Manila was this file 7e640092_manila but the Manila have changed.
Thx
You could modify one of these files, i know only these files:
EN-US 2c89bd29_manila
EN-GB 333c03cb_manila
for myself i modified en-us and everything is Ok.
Thx for reply, but in a German Rom ist must be another Manila file. I edited both of them but nothing changed after a reset!
Does anybody knows which file it is in a German Rom?

[APP] [beta] Manila Language Manager 0.6 (Sense 2.1 / 2.5 not all builds)

Hi all,
I just wrote a small application to change manila language on the fly, don't know if any other application exist to accomplish this task but I was not able to find one so I decided to write my own. MLM connects to my server and checks which languages are available for a given manila build allowing you to:
- Download a language pack for a given manila/sense build
- Install the _manila files in windows directory
- Set the proper registry values
You can choose to execute the operations in separated steps since the language pack (about 50Kb each) are stored on the mobile after download. You can even work offline but only with the builds/languages you have already downloaded.
How to use it:
1) Check your manila build version (you can get it from settings tab => device information, software information)
2) Open Manila language manager
3) Click on "check avail build" from left menu key to fetch builds from server or from disk if you are working offline
4) Select your build and preferred language
5) Click on Go button.
6) Wait for manila to load
REMEMBER:
- Needs .net compact framework 3.5 to work
- Application is at a very early development stage, it works flawlessly on my touch hd (latest NRG rom) but I won't take any responsability in the event it messes up your windows mobile installation so use it at your own risk.
Any comment is appreciated

Could you explain better ? Not sure of what you are referring to but sms notification should be a system feature not manila, hence you cannot translate it using this application.
if i change the manila language ( from english to spanish ) the sms notification does not work ( dont wake up my device and dont sound the alert ), if i change the manila language to english again, it works ok.
i mean :
english language ->> the alert sounds on new sms, and wake up the phone to view the incomming sms.
spanish language->> dont sound on new sms, dont wake up my device, only pressing the power buttom appear the new sms icon ( but no alert/sound/wake up/ nothing )
Really strange, I've checked all the files inside the language packs es-es, ca-es, es-es_tradnl and they are all about language translation, nothing else. I'll let you know as soon as I discover anything.

According to what I am reading in the latest NRG rom thread, it seems to be a bug in the rom that occurs whenever you change the language code. It's not related to MLM, it would behave same way if you change the code manually in the registry.
Very useful tools~ Thanks~
this nice app really works!
great job!
thanks!
Happy to see that it works for at least 3 people on 84 downloads
I'll try to keep the list updated for future builds. If anyone has valid sources for old manila builds (I need the manila OEMs to create the language packs) I will upload the languages on the server.
Thanks a lot!
Very usefull!
MLM Alpha0.3
Works great with Xannytechs Grid Evo 1.6 with build 28011
Thx a lot for your great work
Works great! I do use the Dutch lanquage now, txs, your work is appreciated!
good job, it works fine.
I also have the problem with the sms notification though :S with the nrg rom.
Any1 found out any solution on this?
Version 0.4 on first post
Thanks a lot! Works like a charm!
You, sir, are my hero
Confirmed working for 407 de-de on latest Energy ROM!
Since most ROMs are missing all but the WWE notifications files, changing the language will disable SMS sound and popup.
Take the files in the attached archive, rename them according to your MUI value, and copy to \Windows
@smog: could this be integrated into your app?
