Hi,
My HTC 621 is having problems 'seeing' my SD Micro card.
It worked flawlessly for about a month, now it won't show up.
I can open it from my desktop, but when it's inserted back to the HTC, i won't show up (or might for a day, then disapears).
I don't have another SD to try.
Any advice?
Are there any storage card utilities out there for the dash?

Im not sure about a utility program for a card but if i was you, backup whats on your card on your computer. In case it is your card.
Some time when you do format to sdcard in a computer this format is diferent to the format that do the phone.try format from phone . OR the sdcard is bad.
good luck
back up the card and format with something like sktools or a similar application. see if that helps. if so, import all your stuff back to the card and you should be all set.
help!!!

sounds like you have bluetooth ftp enabled.
do this..... open up comm manager . press right sift key. select bluetooth, then select ftpm then see if bluetooth file explorer and enable file sharing are checked.... if they are , uncheck them ... see if that helps

ok...i unchecked both of the boxes and then rebooted my phone. i then went into my file explorer and the only thing that changed was there was no folder for my 'Storage Card' but a folder named 'Bluetooth Share' was added and its empty... i tried taking my card out and putting it back in but it still does the same thing.

Sounds like either your storage card is toast( or flaky) or somehow you've formatted it and the format is somehow incompatible with the phone
Hopefully someone on here can help me. I've just been adding speecameras to the Tomtom app on my HD. The first set went on OK, but when I tried adding a second, then starting up the Tomtom app to check all was OK, it came back with the following message:
"The file 'TomTom Navifgator' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be foind. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
Now I wouldn't mind doing as it says, but I thought I'd try a soft reset first - but when the phone 'booted' back up, all of the other installed apps, also failed, with the same message.
Apps include gsen, HD Tweak, mini gps, among others.
These were all working fine previously.
Anyone have any ideas as I don't want to have to re-install all of them again?
Thanks.
sounds like a corruption has happened somewhere. check your SD card (if that's where you installed them) and look for suspicious characters, or missing files. When it happened to me on my old phone all the directories were suddenly empty!!
I did install them all on the sd card. Had a look and it doesn't appear to be corrupt.

Did you change any settings with HDtweak, have the same problem at this time, only programe I added was HD tweak 5.4.x. Good luck
Maybe the same problem
I've also had a problem like this once on my HD. I remember, I had just installed HDtweak when it appeared first time. I could not find any solution on how to fix it, so I did a Hard Reset...
Hope anyone can fix it.
My HD said that ".NET framework 3.5" is needed (it was installed), and I tried over and over again to reinstall it, but it just gave me another error. Do your device do this?
Had a similar problem, after using Storage Card and HD in USB mode. All of a sudden my Storage Card appeared in Windows and Resco Explorer twice, Storage Card and Storage Card2. Of course none of the programs would want to start, since the path was changed.
I copied all the programs from the storage card to the desktop (with the intention to reformat the card), reset the HD without the storage card, put the card back in - card #2 was gone - and copied all the files back to the card. Solved my problem.
Very odd. Bit the bullet and started re-installing the apps (not as painful as I thought actually) and they all installed, overwriting the existing version - except, similar to Lucas 0511, they seemed to now be on Storage Card2. And a 'normal' (on device) folder had been created, named Storage Card.
All works OK, but I really don't understand it!?!?

I encountered similar problem in the past.
Both My diamond and HD also have got similar problem.
Diamond: suddenly showed up 2 internal memory.
HD: 2 SD card.
One episode, my card was even corrupted.

I think your card was corrupted.
No, not corrupted, but during USB disk drive mode access to the card for other apps is blocked. So if an app on the device (in my case usually Opera) attempts to write to the card during USB disk mode it cannot find it - and hence will create and write into a new Storage Card folder.
After the USB disk drive mode is closed the folder name "Storage Card" is now taken, so the card will automatically be reassigned to "Storage Card2" - and apps installed to Storage Card previously will no longer find it.
Solution: Delete the "new" Storage Card folder, card out, reset, card back in - and all should be back to normal.
I've had this problem too. It'll manifest as all the icons for programs installed on your SD showing up as blanks. When you go into your file manager you'll see Storage Card and Storage Card2. Storage Card2 is your storage card, but because all your shortcuts are looking for stuff on Storage Card, it can't find the data.
One cause may be that for some reason your mail application starts writing attachments to a new, non-existent storage card. All you have to do is delete it. (Make sure you're deleting the right one - you can remove the other if you want to be belt-and-braces safe, but just checking in the file manager is probably good enough.)
I've had this problem a couple of times on my Kaiser. Unfortunately the only way to correct it was to do a hard reset as I couldn't find any solution anywhere. So far it hasn't happened on my HD.

if your device is showing 'storagecard' and 'storagecard2',
remove memory card, now the file explorer will still show 'storagecard',
delete the 'storagecard' and reinsert the memory card,
perform soft-reset.....
Hello,
I have now for one week a MDA Varia V (its a brand of t-mobile, but its a copy of this phone i think...)
I have 1 problem with my memory card, he disapear most of the thime when i reading somthing from it.
So let me explain:
When i put music on my memory card true the phone and i want play the music, after some seconds/minutes the music stop playing and in the music player i get first a message that its searching, and after that i get the message that there is no music (get those message in dutch), when i go look for the memory card, they dont find the memory card.
And somthimes the same problem happend when i connect the phone to my pc and select the "hard drive" function, than i putting somthing on the memory card and suddenly the card is away, and when i transfer somthing i get the message that the hard drive is lost, or somthing.
Have sombody the same problem and know sombody a solution for this.
PS: the memory card was in the box of the phone, and i called for support to t-mobile (there always helping with phone related problems) but after on the phone for almost a hour they also dont know the problem and suggest i go search the internet if there more people with this problem and how they solved this.
Sorry for my bad english
RTFM. Your storage card will not be accessible if you connect to your PC as external drive. This is normal.

Euhm when you cant get to your storage card when you connect your pc to it, how do you put data (songs and so) on tho your card?
wat i forget to say above, when i put the card out and back in, or when i restart the phone, everything is normal again (till the problem start from the binginning)
Let me rephrase...
Your storage card is not accessible on your device if it's connected as external drive to your PC. That is, you can't see the storage card if you browse to it using file explorer on your TP2. But you can see it on your PC's file explorer.
yes thats wat i mean, i go to "my computer" i click on my phone and normaly you see 2 "drives" one with the name "/" thats your local drive and one have the name " memorycard" when i go to memorycard and want put some data on it, 9 of 10 sudenly the memorycard is gone after some thime, so the transfer is failing, when i go back to the phone i only see the "/" drive and the memorycard drive is gone, and the only solution is that i take out the memorycard out and put it back in, or to restart the phone.
Sounds like the issue is with your USB cable. Use the original HTC cable and take care to not touch your device after you plug it in. If you still have problems, then you may have to bring it in for servicing. Perhaps the device's USB slot is faulty.
that wil resolve the problem when conect to the pc, but when there is music on the card and i play it on the phone the sd card is also sudenley away. and when i place the music at the device itself isnt that problem, and i use the same (origanal) cable for this.

I did have about the same problem in that my HTC would 'lose' the card after a certain - variable - time. I did always have to open the backcover, remove and replug the card and it would work again for a certain time (sometimes some tenths of minutes, sometimes a day).
Meanwhile I found a solution that works: Advanced Configuration Tool (Freeware)
http://julien.schapman.free.fr/touchxperience/advanced-configuration-tool.php
In the 'Power Management'-section of this program I enabled the 'SD Memory power management' and since then my HTC didn't 'lose' the card again
Maybe this will help you too for your problem
When i start the program i get a error message and a text saying me that the program need a newer version of microsoft .NET compact Framework.
Where can i install this new version?
have found and installed the 35 version form the microsoft website.
after that i install the program and do the settings you told, restart the phone, but have already the same problem...

It sounds as though you have corrupt files or bad sectors on the SD Card.
Backup all data on the SD, do a full format on pc using default allocation size and copy data back.
This will resolve your issues.
Cheers,
Beasty
Every time I plug-in the phone to the PC, it deleting all the apps on the SD card, What should I do ?
Give it a few minutes after you unplug your phone, they should come back. They're not getting deleted. When you plug your phone into the computer, it unmounts your sd card. That means all of your apps that are on your sd card lose their link to the phone. Once the sd card remounts and is completely scanned, the apps are relinked.
I steal have the apps, i just cant enter them, i know what i am saying

This can usually be avoided by unmounting the phone on your pc FIRST (by right clicking the directory and choosing "eject", or by using the icon in the bottom right on the task bar, assuming you're using windows).
Then you should unmount from the phone by selecting "unmount usb storage" or something like that, from the phone itself.
Only when you've done both of these things should you disconnect the cable from the phone. I follow this process every time and I never get the temporary sluggish behaviour after unmounting.
Hello,
I have a problem with my SD card, my G3 doesn't recognize it anymore (I have it since about a month).
I did restart it a few times but nothing changes, when I go into recovery mode, everything is in place (I can access it and all my files are shown on the sd card) but nothing shows up when the phone is on (in my musics, photos, and I tried root explorer or ES explorer, it doesnt even show the card).
If I put it off the phone, it says that the card has been removed, and if I put it back on, it says that a card has been inserted, but without showing anything of it.
I'm rooted stock ROM by the way.
I think I did nothing really particular since yesterday, what may be the cause ?

Try this.............
I suggest everyone with SD card issues on their G3 follow these instructions!
I popped the card into my card reader and inserted into my PC. Right-click and select "Format". Set format type to "NTFS" and cluster size to "32kb". Uncheck "Quick Format"!<<<Important!
It took almost an hour to format my 128gb card, but gave me the "format successful" prompt when finished. When I popped it back into my phone, it immediately prompted me to format the card because NTFS is an unrecognizable format for the G3. This is kind of the point. It resets the card in a way that simply erasing it's contents from the storage menu wouldn't do.
I dit it and it works now perfectly fine; thank you !
Also it worked for me but with quick format. :good:
