i had same problem like u2,
when i am connected to wlan it just crashes randomly between 5-200s
so i must always put my BA in cradle and then i can connect
i identified the problem like with battery
i think when i u my phone with power adapter it works fine i think may because of battery i planning to replace it
does the ba have the same power socket as the xda II?
my xda II would shut down whenever i pluged it in to the power cradle.
i have same problem with wlan,or sending or recieving huge (higher than cca 20mb) files via Bluethoot or sth similar.
is that problem in battery or in hardwere
i find cheep batteries for ht ba

from this site I have bought a small battery 1490mAh. and I am very pleased. works great, 4 months already.
a restart of the problem comes right from the battery. to me, 30% are excluded. I no longer have this problem

Hello.
Yesterday I bought a new Qtek 9090.
Since I was charging it yesterday all day long I didnt found a problem till today.
When the device is on or in the cradle there are no problems -everything works fine but
when my QTEK automatically powers itself -off after 3 min, I cant turn it on again except with Hard reset - with that I lose all my data and I must one more time calibrate screen, set date... I tried to install Windows one more time but it doesnt help. Same problem.
I also cant recive any calls when device is off - although it doesnt seem to be busy from the caller view - but on my QTEK the screen doesnt turn on, it is off all the time...until I make hard reset. No other button helps.
Are there any hidden settings?
I am working on this matter whole day and I cant find anything.
Before I bought the PDA I read somewhere that you cant turn the device off - unless removing a battery - well mine turns itself of just by pressing power button on top. But after that I cant turn it on again - only hard reset helps. But when I turn off automatic shut down after 3 min - the battery lasts only for a few hours - and it is a bit unpractical to charge your phone every few hours.
Please help with you knowledge and experience!

Hi,
can anyone help me plz? My Pda sometimes freezes and sometimes turns off and i need to take of the batery to turn on again.
Sorry but i'm noob in this stuff...
regards
Mine too
Mine too, in various moments (actions). During the phone call, typing SMS, receiving SMS etc just freezes, screen goes off (actually very dark gray) and can't do anything but to take battery out and back in and restart.
It was working fine till couple of weeks ago. Then I have tried S2U2 and some keyboard prog.
I have tried with hard reset but no luck.
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. just found this:

Seems to me that new battery doesn't help. Same thing again. Ugh!

Thanks Xtremerer,
Today news:
I just got my Artemis from the service and the guy told me that I had two problems:
1. Software - he just did some kind of "repair" tool for services (not flashing)
2. Hardware - problem with mini USB connector on the bottom of the phone - he said - inspect your cables, one might be bad.
(3). Battery - I gave him the phone with the original battery although i have both the new one. He told me to change the battery, this one is bad, screen flickers because of it.
I was happy for couple of hours, but, it turned out that my WiFi doesn't work anymore
Any idea?
My XDA Orbit went crazy today, first I couldn't start him at all, he wasn't react on "power button". After few attemts he finally started. I connected him to PC but he turned off after couple minutes. From this moment I can't start windows, it stops at starting screen (with IPL, SPL, GSM, OS). After a while screen starting to quakes (like a low frequency on CRT). I tried hard reset, it won't help and run it in bootloader mode but Orbit just reset.
Additonal info:
IPL 3.04.0001
SPL 3.04.0000
GSM 02.67.90
OS 3.4.0.0
ROM: Original WM6 from O2
Can anyone help me?
Have you tried a different barttery?
No, I didn't. I don't know anybody with artemis to borow another battery.
EDIT: I checked battery voltage, it's about 3,85V and now i noticed something, on battery sticker is printed it is for ARTE160 3.7VDC-1200mAh but on the phone it's printed ARTE200 5VDV-1A. Is that can cause the problem?
Finally I forced it to run in bootloader mode and flashed with the same O2 WM6 ROM. He started and I was abble to flash USPL and other ROM. It's better but still sometimes phone just poweroff with no reason

Hi
Had a similar problem!!! Try reflashing the rom....It worked for me..I used the o2 stock rom found on the the artemis wiki in the ftp section.... Can also highly recommend the Touch rom found in the windows mobile 6 section of the artemis section here..

I bought a new battery but phone still turning off and freezes. Now I can't even turn it on, sometimes it starts but screen slowly fades away and after few seconds its only black screen with black light. It's propably a hardware problem but what?
EDIT: I started it, working fine when it's connected with pc but when I disconnect it freezes after couple of minutes.
flisak
open the device and check the screen is connected propperly, piss easy, just be very carefull.
if this does not work buy a new LCD.
Hi, I have the same problem with my Artemis, did anyone find a solution? Can be a problem with the LCD?
And plus one here. The device always turn off, and is difficult to turn on again. Rplaced battery and is the same.....
I've got an XDA Orbit that periodically hangs (full black screen and occasionally this seems to drain the battery very quickly). I've taken it apart and reseated the connectors and these all look ok.
Seems to happen when you're taking it out of a pocket to answer a call etc. Sometime it just requires a soft-reset but occasionally it just doesn't respond. In these instances I have found that twisting it slightly across the diagonal (top left to bottom right bending back slightly) and then resetting the device seems to bring it back to life and it's ok for a few hour/days again. If I leave it alone, i.e. not in my jeans pocket - it's fine, so think it's hardware related but not sure which bit is faulty - screen, touch-screen, mainboard etc.
If I bend it the same as above when it's working the screen goes screwy and causes it to crash so think it's definitely this is what's causing the device to crash. However, the clock seems to keep going (I'm assuming so as in most incidents it doesn't seem to lose the correct time - although I might just be seeing the problem the instant after it has crashed) so don't know whether the mainboard is still ok.
Just thought it might help some if you try the slight twisting described above to see if that helps with these to get them working and if anyone has any ideas how I can work out which bit of mine is faulty I'd be grateful.
when I try to flash the ROM 6.5 for my HP3300 after 4% flashing it restrats again. Pls help me out. I think this problem might be with my Ext_ROM. How to unlok EXT_ ROM
what is the best touch rom to use for my xda orbit. and where can i get it

Well it seems that I'm having similar issues with my Orbit.
I've been having problems with it for a few weeks and they seem to be getting much worse now.
Occasionally it would just lock up and freeze, but after frantic tapping it will unfreeze itself and continue working fine. But over the past few days it's been locking up regulary. Removing the battery was the only way to get it going again.
But now it just won't do anytihing. As soon as I start it up I either get a white screen (it phases in during the splash screen), or it'll start up, freezes after a few seconds, then eventually switches itself off. Hard resetting it makes no difference at all. Changing the battery didn't work either. I always keep it on charge overnight, could that be the problem? Maybe I'm just overcharging the battery (if that's even possible).
Note: As I've typed this, I've switched it on again only to find the battery's flat, even though it's been off for most of the day (I gave up trying to start it up). The battery usually lasts for the whole day - maybe even 2 days if I don't use it much. I had it on charge overnight as I said.
I'll try another battery to see if that works. If not then what can I do?
Hello all,
Since this morning I have a problem with my DHD. When I turn off the screen, it is supposed to stay of until I turn it on again. Since this morning it starts turning itself on over and over again. Everytime I turn off the screen, it switches on in a few seconds. But once it's on it doesn't go off by itself. So I doubt if it is a problem with the on/off switch. What else could it be?
Edit:
This seems not to happen when the phone is connected with an USB cable. Either on my PC or on the regular power charger.

Have you installed anything new at all. Also have you restarted the phone since it began exhibiting this behaviour. Make sure it's a proper restart aswell by turning off fastboot i settings, it's under power settings I believe.
Thanks for your fast reply.
I have not installed anything new since two days ago. And the problem really started this morning. So I guess it is not caused by a program I installed a couple of days ago.
I have indeed restarted my phone. Also turned it off, toke the battery out and waited a couple of minutes (just to make sure it was really really really turned off) but this did not solve the problem.
The thing I find very weird is that it does not happen when the phone is attached to USB...

Maybe USB debugging, or possibly a short on the mini USB connector. What firmware do you have on the phone?
Android 2.3.3
HTC Sense 2.1
I also think it might have something to do with a short in the micro USB connector. Have cleaned when the phone was of. Seems to have solved the problem, but that's only for the past few minutes...

Darn! The problem still isn't gone. It appears to be less frequent than an hour ago, but the screen still turns on every couple of minutes
This is happening to me as well. The phone screen keeps coming on and then going off after a bit. This and randomly going into car mode and whenever I make or receive calls, the phone speaker is switched on automatically.

Indeed! I just noticed that too. I received a call and my speaker was turned on without me turning it on manual..
Update: my phone stopped switching its screen on automatically, but the problem with the speaker still is not gone.
My DHD has started showing both of these symptoms, ie, switching itself on from standby and the speaker phone being activated on incoming calls .. ever since I upgraded to Android 2.3. I'm not sure if this is something to do with 2.3, the DHD or T-Mobile (my provider) .. or a combination of all 3.
And an app called Car Panel keeps launching ..
Dave
I have this problem, too.
Before the last update of my DHD the backlight turns on in standby for some milliseconds. I saw only a short flash in standby.
After my update to version 2.3 this happens everey 7 minutes.
And the backlight is on for about 10 seconds, then turns off for the next 7 minutes.

I had the same problem going to settings/dock and turning off auto launch and then power setting turning off fast boot appears to work so far
Hi,
My phone has been working fine since I did S-off and installed a LeeDroid 2.3 ROM a year ago. This wednesday I had to install another ROM because of boot loop problems with the previous one. I used VJ CM10.1 v5.3 which worked amazing for almost 2 days. Yesterday at night while the phone was charging I couldn't unblock it (black screen) and the orange led kept light event without usb cable. I removed the battery and since then the phone only vibrates continuously when I turn it on. Even without battery if I use an USB cable it starts vibrating inmediatly, of course with any screen response (in the dark you can see a very light attempt to start the screen but nothing else). The PC don't detect anything when I plug it and I can't use any key combination to get to Recovery.
I wasn't doing anything dangerous, only charging but the ROM was only 2 days old. Does anybody now what is happening or how could I fix it? Sorry if It has been responsed but I think not (It's no the 7 vibrations problem).
I can provide more information if needed. Thanks a lot.
Take out the battery, hold the power button for 10 seconds, then try to boot.

Same result. It only vibrates. I'm considering hardware fault (is 2 years and half old) but as I changed the ROM this week seems to be somewhat related.
Before we come to a conclusion, let's try all the stuff we can.
Does the phone boot in hboot?
No, all key combinations apparently have the same result.
The last thing i'd like you to try is putting your phone in the freezer with the battery taken out. Who knows, maybe it will boot afterwards.
If not, then send it to a service.
Thanks a lot, I will try. By the way, I've started saving money to buy the Nexus 4
