My bluetooth headset is paired with my TP2 at all times, but a lot of the time I don't use it, rather I hold the phone to my ear the conventional way. I noticed when the phone is paired with a bluetooth headset and I answer without using the headset, when I move the phone close to my ear the screen will not turn off by itself, thus the proximity sensor is disabled.
My question is how do I enable the proximity sensor to turn the screen off WHILE a bluetooth headset is paired?
Thanks!

With this cab installed and my Tilt2 paired to my BT deck in my car, I could no longer pickup incoming calls. As soon as I uninstalled it, the problem went away. Not sure what changes it makes, but it does resolve one issue, but possibly creates another...

Must be conflicting with some sort of software you have. It works perfectly on mine.
There seems to be a problem with this application. While it performs admirably for the purpose it was created for, it seems to have some side effects.
1) When you start the Task Manager application (Dot Fred's), it just freezes. You can never see the list of processes in the task manager as long as this program is in memory.
2) I have a suspicion that it might be the cause of a higher than usual battery drain.

You seem to be right with the Task Manager application freezing when loading. That's very weird. I haven't noticed much difference in the battery drain but it looks like I will be uninstalling this due to the problem with task manager. I also hard reset my phone yesterday and after installing a few different cab files (such as this one), TomTom was unable to install. You would think enabling the proximity sensor when a bluetooth headset is paired would be a simple registry edit.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

1)Your right about Dot Fred's task manager app it does freeze when this app is on. I will look into that
2) I suppose but to be honest the app is only about 25 lines of code and all it does it check if your on the phone and if you are then enable proximity sensor. so i don't think it would be that noticable.... Has anyone else noticed significant battery drain
Ok so now that i answered your questions can you please answer mine. Where did you get that cab you posted above? Thanks
I got from somewhere around here. I'm assuming you are asking me about it becuase of the Title of the CAB. I modify the titles of all my CABs before installing them on my device. Makes it easier for me to keep track of it.
I'm sorry... didn't mean to take away any credit from you. Can you send me your original CAB so I can replace the one I have posted here with it, or better yet, just send me a link to your thread and I'll post it there.

Hey u guys! Ive got a major problem on my tytn. I have a Crc's 10.something last ROM (WM 6.1) and a big BT problem. Ive got it "on" in the comm manager, "on" in windows, both beam options on and that option "allow other devices to see me". Well the problem is that the other devices can only see me if I have the PDA on! I mean, if it is in standby mode, other devices can't find me! It becomes a big problem when I turn on my BT headset and it cant find the phone =(. Is there a way to solve this? maybe editing something on the registry?
try installing schaaps config and turning off all the power save settigns
nothing m8. No can do! everybody else can find their Hermes in standby mode?
anyone know a registry tweak for this?
Solved by removing those saving power options in advanced config

actually it didn't work. the bt doesn't go off when I put the device in standby, it takes about 3 or 4 secunds to turn it off... anyway I don't know what to do...help
Have you tried reflashing? I'm using 10.8 and it has no problems at all when it is in standby and a call comes in, or I start a call from the headset while the phone is still in standby.
If it worked briefly by changing the power settings, try doing that, then delete and recreate the partnership before doing anything else, that might work more reliably.
Yes, i already flashed 3 times! But all the ROMS come with power tweaks! My radio rom is 1.48.00.10 e I dont know if it has anything to do with... Its only the BT problem, i can receive calls and messages, everything works! Im using 10.8 either!
another thread!
you are a kind of hopless my friend
whenever you get any problem on your device, and before you try to understand what kind of problem you have, you open your mouth speechlessly, and you go directly "Hermes Mobile 6" instead of "Hermes Accessories" to post a new thread and ask a very sweet sweet question
Advice: UPGRADE -or whatever you may call it- to Nokia, SE, Sagem, Motorola or any non WM based device and forget about all these problems
That's the way it is - if it in standby, BT is off.
No fixes, patches or anything will sort it as that's just the way it is.
Sorry!

Im not sure thats right because I also have an HTC Prophet and Wizard and they can both be discoverable on standby mode! If it wasn't a possibility then why should the blue led blink in standby mode?

i now see this is an all hermes issue that hasnt yet been fixed.
Although there are some registry tweaks. Does anyone know of a good one to force the BT to stay on even in suspend mode?
Hi Guys,
I am currently using a Cell Pro Rom and I find that my it keeps flipping to landscape too often when I have my phone in portrait.
I always have to give it a shake to fix itself and it does get a bit annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
(I remember I may have (not certain) that I might have changed the Sensor registry when I first got it, but I am not certain, does anyone know the default measurements?)
Any ideas are welcomed.
Many thanks in advance!
Did you ask in the Cell Pro ROM thread? Seems a more logical place to ask. I tried that one out and did not have the issue you are describing. Good ROM too.
There is a G-Sensor Calibration in Settings- System.

I'm fearing the fact that I may have changed something in the registery as I got all excited the day i got the phone and went through the tweaks in the wiki.
I am not certain if I made any changes regarding the g sensor so I was wondering if anyone knows the defaults or if there is a .cab or ROM to flash to system restore.
Any clues?
Many thanks in advance
To me the g-sensor is a gimmick. I find it annoying and totally useless so I've turned mine off altogether. If I want the screen to rotate I push the keyboard out. I really don't see any use for it.
I did think the only use I had for it was the face down hands free thing but have since decided that I'd be quite happy to push a button for that. Hardly a hassle.
Anyway to turn the screen off, with the power button, but keep music playing?
Tried it with the touchflo3D player and the windows media player...both turn off the music when I try to turn the screen off...
Anyone else have this problem?
I have pocketshied installed...so not sure if this is a phone prob or pocketshield is causing it to happen...it still happens whether pocketshield is on or not though...
Thanks

yeah, it's working for me as well although you cannot skip tracks like you can with iphone unless you install third party software.
did you check your lock setting and make sure you check "lock if playing music"?

Again, not an issue for me. I skip tracks without issue. I use my BT headphones to listen to music while I ride my mountain bike and I have runsat recording my ride going in the background. No issues whatsoever. I have none of the "fixes" mentioned installed, it has always worked fine for me even now that I'm using S2U2.

I'll have to try S2U2.
What's with the skip track thing that's being talked about?
Do you guys mean while the screen is off?
I have the tilt2 and also have this problem. by default, WMP is supposed to keep playing, but only if you let the device suspend on its own. This generally works, but there will be a brief stutter and lag when it first turns the device off.
PocketPlayer is a good 3rd party app that has the option to turn off the screen for uninterupted listening. Playlist management is a bit of a chore with that program, though.

The cab file is inside the zip file along with a bunch of other stuff for modding the S2U2 clock and skins. All you need is the one cab file for the actual S2U2 program. Unzip it to a folder and just copy the cab file to your device and run it. If you don't know how to unzip a file you might want to reconsider modding your phone.
EDIT: Here. I'll make it easy for you. Latest version attached.

It keeps playing if there's a headset, external speakers, or bluetooth headset that it is playing through....but not through the phone's speakers.

My Tilt 2 does the same thing.
Could you just set a quicker "screen off" time in the power settings? Wouldn't that basically accomplish the same thing? It is weird that it will keep playing when the phone goes into standby on its own, but not when you press the power button to turn the screen off.

Actually, it makes sense the way it is. If you are manually turning off the backlight it assumes you want to shut down all functions except the phone.
I found that if I just push the lock button for S2U2 it locks the screen and shuts the screen off at the set time, but allows the music to keep playing. A small hassel, but a work around.
Keep Music Playing
Registry location:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Unattended\
Change Wav1 dword value to a "0"
Then when you have music playing in any program,
tap the power button to put in suspend mode,
and you're good to go.

Hi, this is hard to describe with out the sound file, but basically my phone when turning on plays a sound at random, it lasts for about 1sec and has 4 syllables if you get my meaning a bit like 1 ...2-3-4 or Do De-dah-Do (this isn't a silly post I promise XD)
At first I thought it was a few programs I installed, someone told me it could the the THD pinball game, un-installed that but it is still there.
Has anyone else encountered a "similar" issue? It interrupts some programs or games and is very annoying and its beinging to drive me insane; at one point I thought it was malware or a virus so I McAfee scanned it in case (maybe there are other better alts but please suggest).
Oh, I will also add when this happens when looking at desktop the top menu bar sometimes goes green.
Any ideas? Please save my sanity.
kind regards

When I unlock the device, so its already on and then the sound at "some" point will start maybe 2-3 times then stop. Its so random I cant even pin point it. When in opera, desktop and other apps this sound will appear and cause mayhem.

Yeah, it's strange. I know it'll take awhile but it might be a good idea to look at any/all recently installed Apps and look at their Permissions. See if any of them say anything about making alerts, then force close them if they do and see if the issue persists.

Does it by any chance happen when your phone is sitting over your wallet?
I was getting the same sound randomly and drove me nuts. Then realized that it's the NFC kicking in when the phone is near my "blink" chipped credit card.

Sorry for late reply and thank you so much for your input.
Yes people, it is the NFC! The phone resides in a wallet and my works id card on the other side. When I read the phone I fold the cover over and hence this sound. Do I feel stupid? Yes 100% I only hope that maybe some people can learn from my inherent stupidity and thus the madness that was slowly but surely setting in.
