Hello
I have a problem with my HTC Touch HD.
I have to use the password function of the device, for security reasons.
I have installed S2U2 2.12. It works very fine. But after I have received a phone call S2US don´t allow´s me to enter the password after moving the slider.
The only thing that works is a soft reset or removing the battery.
The only application that is working is S2U2, but I do not get the screen for entering the password.
Any idea to solve this problem?

Hi
on my new Orange SPV m2000, i configured the keylock to lock everything but the power on/off switch. But.. when i receive an SMS, an eMail or when Pocket outlook wants to connect to the GPRS network (and wants to show me the little bubble saying that i'ts about to do so) then the keylock is being turend off (=the SPV is being turned on) and i can use all the keys and the touchscreen.
since i often receive SMS when my phone is min my pocket, i don't really like this kind of behaviour..
doesn't anyone have this problem too? to me it seems like a basic windows mobile problem the way things are being made... or is it just a configuration fault of mine?
any help is appreciated...
cheers
pascal
Same prob with XDAII
Don't want to hijack your thread... but i'm having the same problem with SMS.
But also, every time i receive a phonecall, the phone unlocks, and does not lock itself again. So if i have the phone on silent, it unlocks in my pocket, and then my phone starts calling people by mistake until i lock it again.
I enabled the lock all buttons except power button option but this doesn't work. The only additional software i have running on the phone is TomTom2 and Towa's patch if that makes any difference. ROM ver 1.60.50.
Any solutions? I may otherwise have to get rid of my trusty XDAII otherwise
Thanks!
Sorry, I dont have a solution, but my phone does the same.
Its as if the phones were designed on a desk, and no one bothered to try them in the real world.

Hmm... I don't have this problem on my XDAII and I don't think I ever had it. What ROMs are you XDAII peeps using? Standard UK O2 ROMs like me? (I'm up to 1.72 now.)
Wonder why my XDAII wouldn't have this problem but others might, unless it's a ROM problem.
This is a known problem with the Blue Angel, but not with the XDAII that I've heard of.
hi
i think there is alternative way to minimize problem. you can set your password for your phone, then when there is incoming call or message, even though it will unlock all button, but before you use it, the unit will ask you password. so at least you will not miss call anyone anymore.
I'm having the same problem with my Pda2k.
I've disabled all but the power button. And I do have a password on the device.
I've had the following scenarios happen;
Scenario 1:
Every time I receive an SMS, the device powers up, waits for the password - If I don't hear it it then proceeds to stay on and drain the battery.
It just doesn't seem to go back to sleep.
BTW - the unit gets very warm...
Scenario 2:
Even when I do hear it, I often find that the unit is frozen - ie I try to type in the password, the asterisks show on screen but it seems nowhere after that. I'm running Pocket Plus, which has had problems with HTC devices - but I'm not running the today plugin at the moment.
Soft Reset is the only option.

Yes, i think we are all in the same boat here. The problem is that the device wasnt designed to be in your pocket (I know.. I know.. Pocket PC). Problem being, on recieving sms/mms/call the gsm part of the device sends the wake siganl to the O/S, causing the device to power on.
The simple solution as mentioned above is to lock the keys (password) but again as mentioned this can cause alot of power loss because the device will not sleep if your leg keeps trying to enter the password (in your pocket). I'm guessing that why so many people tend to use the belt clips with these devices. :?
I'm sure it will be in the next feature request so that only the LED indicator will change and flash if chosen but until then we all have to look like geeks with belt clips.
If anyone knows of a registry hack or app that can stop the wake signal form annoying us all the please post.
Workaround
Hi there,
Same problem on my 9090. But I had this on my former crappy iPAQ 6340 too.
Here's a workaround which works for me:
Go to "Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications"
then select tab "Notifications"
in the "Event"-dropdown select "Messaging: New text message" and uncheck "Display message on screen". Uncheck for "Phone: Voice mail" and "Phone: Missed call" too.
BTW: The warming device is just a feature: you don't have to buy a pocket hand warmer in winter!

Or use a 3rd party software like the ones described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15573
Hello
I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.
I have enabled the simle 4 digit password on my BA.
On an incoming call the screen becomes available to allow me to answer or reject the call. Normally when I press 'Answer' I can take the call. Then the password prompt will be on the screen.
The problem is that about every second or third call the password challenge won't show up, but the phone application is shown. There is no exit button in the top right corner, I can't make calls, I cant switch it off. The only thing i can do is that I can receive further calls.
The only way to get out of this is by soft-reset.
This happened with the original ROM. So I upgraded to 1.40 in the hope that this would fix it, but it didn't.
I have searched a number of forums to see whether other people have similar problems, but couldn't find anything.
My PDA2k is stock standard, with the only addition being Adobe's PDF reader.
I would appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem (apart from not using a Password challenge), as I'm sick to death of having to reset the device.
Thanks in advance.
Okay, I need some help please. When I make a call from the call screen, put it up to my ear, the phone will go back to the home screen. This happens regardless of the length of time I hold it away from my ear. The is very frustrating when you need to enter numbers on the key pad or use the other options you have. Anyone know how to fix this?
+1
Mmm, to short, so typing on a little bit
Same problem here, so if somebody has a solution...
I notice the problem on the Sprint version but on the ATT version I do not have that issue. Anyone have any advice?
I have the same problem on a HTC Touch Pro2 WWE (europe)
Fixed
Go to settings and select lock, change "prompt if device is unused" to 0 minutes. I had it on 2 hours. Creates some other issues, like requiring you use a password often, but at least it doesn't go back to the home screen while you are in a call.
If this issue is related to having the Simple PIN lock activated, then the solution is to deactivate the security lock. This is really aggravating when the PIN lock is Exchange-server enforced (some employers insist that the phone has security).
Personally I can understand your frustration as I found this was particularly annoying.
More information about this (and related Home Tab issues) here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=82944
The problem has been reported as a bug to HTC, and it has been fixed on the official ROMs that use Windows Moble 6.5. See here: http://forums.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?t=175297
Howdy Folks,
I may have ran into a show stopper on the Samsung Galaxy S3 from Telus. I need to have a PIN on my phone or some locking mechanism that is secured, swipe doesn't cut it, as I have working documents and phone numbers that I don't want easily accessed. I have a blueant S3 and a Motorola 505 hands free bluetooth device that work great when the phone is unlocked. However, S Voice doesn't appear to work when the phone is locked. When I try to place a call, I can see the phone light up, and have confirmed that S Voice is initiated, however, it does not accept the voice command. I have checked my call settings and the make outgoing calls when locked is checked. It works when swipe is engage, however, this is not an option for me.
Something I have found is that if I initiate the call with the hands free unit, click emergency call on the phone, click the return button from the emergency call, S Voice will start up. Sometime's it'll make the call, sometimes it won't.
Are there some settings that I'm missing?
Does anyone have a solution?
I sure hope so, otherwise, I will have to return the phone.
TIA for your responses.
Thanks,
Greg
I found a solution. I installed Tasker and Secure Settings. In Tasker, I create a profile for when a bluetooth connection is made to my handsfee unit. I then created a task that disables my PIN. I also created a profile that re-enables my PIN when the bluetooth connection is lost.
After a month of searching, I finally found a solution. I still say that Samsung has this screwed up and I'm very disappointed that I even had to install third party software to make something work.

This has been a problem for me also. I don't want to leave my phone unlocked all the time. Are those two separate programs?

Click to collapse
They are two seperate apps within play store. Secure Settings is a plugin for Tasker, so you access it through it. Here's more detail on how to set it up:
Profile->Bluetooth Connected
Task->PlugIn->Secure Settings->Password/Pin->Disabled
I then added an Exit Task
Task->Plugin0>Secure Settings->Password/Pin->Enabled (Set to my old
PIN number)
Perfect! I definitely wouldn't have figured this one out without your help. I'll test it out tomorrow and see how well it works.
Couldn't get it to work with Samsung S4
Great suggestion on using Tasker, but unfortunately, I could make it work with my Galaxy S4. I successfully created the macro in Tasker and could get the lock on the lock screen to disable, but I could not get the phone to turn off the lock screen altogether (I'm running 4.2.2 unrooted). Couldn't find the ability in Tasker with Secure Settings to altogether turn off the lock screen (not just clear the lock). My phone is set to allow dialing from an accessory with the screen locked, but the phone isn't following that. If I have any lock screen (even with no lock set), bluetooth won't complete the call until the lock screen is cleared (even if it only requires a swipe). After not succeeding with this, I also tried to use Tasker to activate a couple unlock apps from the Google Play store, but those too had no capability to altogether disable the lockscreen so that the power button takes you directly to the home screen. Further research revealed an app called BtWiLocker that is designed to unlock the phone and clear the lockscreen when BT or WiFi are connected and relock when done. I've used that for a day so far, and it seems to be working OK after playing with it a little to get the settings correct.
I got it to clear the password when a BT connection was made, and reset the pin passcode when the BT connection ended.
The key thing is to create another profile for the BT connection when not connected. This can be done by checking off the "inverted" check box.
Initially, I only got 1/2 of it to work where it will clear, but if the device sleeps it will be locked again.
I keep my s4 in my back pocket and use a bluetooth most of the day. My phone is not password locked, I use a std swipe gesture to unlock. It seems to me that after getting a text message or an incoming call, answering that call with my bluetooth and completing that call without ever removing the phone from my pocket, the phone becomes unlocked and the touchscreen becomes sensitive to pocket pushes and pocket dialing. anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on how to solve this problem short of setting an unlock code?
