does anyone know of a cooked rom with the internal memory fix. i have a touch diamond 3g. Thanks
Care to elaborate?
well the phone itself works fine but i tried to put music on it via WMDC and it deleted or corrupted the internal memory which the phone cannot find it says internal storage not installed. any roms with a fix for this problem?
Have you tried connecting the phone to a windows PC to see if you can see the internal storage that way?
You don't give us much to go on, to try and help you. The more info about your phone and what you did / have done would be good.
Ok this is everything.i have a HTC Touch Diamond 3G. I added music via WMDC and it did. i then went onto my phone and saw that none of the files were there. i then went to Settings-Memory and saw that it said that no storage card was installed. i tried about 40 times to try and get it to connect via Disk Drive and it never showed up. so then i did a soft reset and hard reset and still nothing. i then went online and saw that this guy had cooked the Internal memory hotfix priovided by HTC into a rom but when i tried to download the hotfix it it said that it is not compatible with my device. i then came here and noticed that you can cook hotfixes to the roms and im looking for one. thats about it. Any ideas on how i can get the memory back?
It could just be me, but I dont fully understand Sorry!
Did you know that when you connect your phone to your PC, that you have the option to have "faster file transfer" ? When you select this option, it disables the phone from accessing the internal storage. Try disconnecting your phone from your pc then try again!
i know it wont display it on the device but it should display it on the PC and it doesn't.

Hi guys, I have WM 6 running on my Blue Angel and I used it to record a seminar (Resco Audio Recorder). The battery went dead and since no charger, I replaced the battery with a fully charged one. Everything was fine, until it requested the password. It wouldn't accept the password, no matter what I did and eventually I had to hard reset, thinking the files were on the memory card. Apparently they weren't and now I need those recordings... I have tried easy recovery but it only works with the SD card on a reader. Anyway to recover data on the phone memory? I;d try anything, even taking it apart if I could stick the memory in a card reader. Is there any solution or am I doomed?
if it's on a ramdisk no dice
if it's on storage
then maybe if you use one of the tools
to make the pda be seen as an usb mass storage controller on the
pc you can try a normal pc undelete tool
I have searched for similar tools with no success. Do you have any one in mind?
there are many names and many tools
wm5storage is one
and
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/usbmassstoragedriver.shtml
there are more which ones work with your pda i dont know
i dont think it's recoverable.
it is formatted already
and overwritten by your os.
(unless there's "unformat" for PPC
but that is pointless because it can only
boot in the storage drive so unformat
wont run in a locked drive)
if it's only deleted... it probably/might be possible to undelete.
you should have done "No/Yes/No" on hard reset
to clear the registry hive and not the storage.
but i guess that's too late.
im sorry for your loss.
I have an xda ii with a wm6.1 rom and i am using vista on my laptop.
I noticed my main hard drive on my mobile (if thats what you call it) was getting full. I have installed most of my programs on the RAM and STORAGE card though...
So I thought maybe I should reinstall the ROM and install them again but making sure ALL programs are installed on the storage card which is 2GB.
First of all thank you to everyone that helps... I appreciate the amount of posts you get one here.
The problem I am having is that I am running out of space to install a few programs even though I have a 2GB card and installing the programs on my card. Not the main device.
I tried restarting from scratch and went into boot mode - shows serial - then connected to the cradle and it shows USB but windows device manager (i have vista) does not show it as connected. If i reset and load wm6.1 it connects str8 away. Couldn't work out why but decided to go back to uninstalling the programs i had installed.
So I then uninstalled all programs so there is space, then reinstalled all onto storage card. The storage card is 2GB.
Even though I'm installin them on my storage card everytime i install a program (not many) a little bit of the main hard drive is used. Now it seems the hard drive is full. So basically im not not able to install a program i need cos its full.
How can I use my 2GB storage card or work around this I have been installing to it but it still is taking up space on my main device harddrive.
Is there a way to uninstall programs that came with the rom?
In short, I have space on my card but seems not on my main server. Can I work around this?>
Whats going on?

Hello,
I have now for one week a MDA Varia V (its a brand of t-mobile, but its a copy of this phone i think...)
I have 1 problem with my memory card, he disapear most of the thime when i reading somthing from it.
So let me explain:
When i put music on my memory card true the phone and i want play the music, after some seconds/minutes the music stop playing and in the music player i get first a message that its searching, and after that i get the message that there is no music (get those message in dutch), when i go look for the memory card, they dont find the memory card.
And somthimes the same problem happend when i connect the phone to my pc and select the "hard drive" function, than i putting somthing on the memory card and suddenly the card is away, and when i transfer somthing i get the message that the hard drive is lost, or somthing.
Have sombody the same problem and know sombody a solution for this.
PS: the memory card was in the box of the phone, and i called for support to t-mobile (there always helping with phone related problems) but after on the phone for almost a hour they also dont know the problem and suggest i go search the internet if there more people with this problem and how they solved this.
Sorry for my bad english
RTFM. Your storage card will not be accessible if you connect to your PC as external drive. This is normal.

Euhm when you cant get to your storage card when you connect your pc to it, how do you put data (songs and so) on tho your card?
wat i forget to say above, when i put the card out and back in, or when i restart the phone, everything is normal again (till the problem start from the binginning)
Let me rephrase...
Your storage card is not accessible on your device if it's connected as external drive to your PC. That is, you can't see the storage card if you browse to it using file explorer on your TP2. But you can see it on your PC's file explorer.
yes thats wat i mean, i go to "my computer" i click on my phone and normaly you see 2 "drives" one with the name "/" thats your local drive and one have the name " memorycard" when i go to memorycard and want put some data on it, 9 of 10 sudenly the memorycard is gone after some thime, so the transfer is failing, when i go back to the phone i only see the "/" drive and the memorycard drive is gone, and the only solution is that i take out the memorycard out and put it back in, or to restart the phone.
Sounds like the issue is with your USB cable. Use the original HTC cable and take care to not touch your device after you plug it in. If you still have problems, then you may have to bring it in for servicing. Perhaps the device's USB slot is faulty.
that wil resolve the problem when conect to the pc, but when there is music on the card and i play it on the phone the sd card is also sudenley away. and when i place the music at the device itself isnt that problem, and i use the same (origanal) cable for this.

I did have about the same problem in that my HTC would 'lose' the card after a certain - variable - time. I did always have to open the backcover, remove and replug the card and it would work again for a certain time (sometimes some tenths of minutes, sometimes a day).
Meanwhile I found a solution that works: Advanced Configuration Tool (Freeware)
http://julien.schapman.free.fr/touchxperience/advanced-configuration-tool.php
In the 'Power Management'-section of this program I enabled the 'SD Memory power management' and since then my HTC didn't 'lose' the card again
Maybe this will help you too for your problem
When i start the program i get a error message and a text saying me that the program need a newer version of microsoft .NET compact Framework.
Where can i install this new version?
have found and installed the 35 version form the microsoft website.
after that i install the program and do the settings you told, restart the phone, but have already the same problem...

It sounds as though you have corrupt files or bad sectors on the SD Card.
Backup all data on the SD, do a full format on pc using default allocation size and copy data back.
This will resolve your issues.
Cheers,
Beasty
So been trying to work out this issue for past couple of days now. Galaxy W (obviously) PACman rom.
Updated to the latest version of rom, all fine but didn't go pristine. Eventually had some issues, biggest of which being I couldn't access internal SD card as storage, yet all my apps were working fine. So, tried again, went pristine, all fine for about a day, no issues whatsoever .... until dreaded internal sd unmounted. Tried again, pristine, double formatting everything and double clearing cache etc. No problems. Updated kernel to skull kernal to fix the bluetooth. No problems.
And now again, it's happened. I've tried to keep a mental correlation in what I'm doing to hopefully give me an idea of what's going on but not having much luck; hoping someone here knows what this issue is as it's driving me mad
I've changed my name in Google; could it be some sort of permissions thing?
USB; phone set to Media player, it might be it's happening after I've transferred but since everything is working fine, it's hard to tell
I've not restored anything, gone completly pristine (took hours) in an attempt to retrace my steps and not get this issue again. Part of me thinks I may as well just leave it as everything works, I can even install fine. But I can't browse it via any file manager or via USB, and a couple of programs I use (CoPilot for one) won't start properly because there is no SD card mounted.
Things I've tried -
CWM, fix permissions
Reboot
Checked Storage under settings, I can see how much free space there is etc.
Enabled and Disabled USB Debugging and tried to see it on my PC (nothing, external shows up fine)
Anything else anyone can think of before I wipe the lot and try again for a 4th time?

*sigh*
No idea why it's doing it, but yeah, seems to be the USB transfer. Problem solved.
So changed USB from Media Player to MTP and back again while connected to PC, internal storage now available.
Always the way, struggled with it for a few days, finally decide to post for help, and I solve it in less than 10 minutes of making the post :silly:
Knowing my luck, it's a known bug I've somehow glossed over in all information!
Edit - spoke too soon
After a reboot, same again. Everything "works", I can install and uninstall, but I can't browse the internal sdcard0 with a file manager or via PC. The above trick isn't working now.

Just thought I'd give it one last bump. Situation is that after every reboot, my internal sdcard is not mounted. I have to connect the phone to a PC via USB, then disconnect and hope that the phone mounts both sdcards. Usually works first time but sometimes I have to connect - disconnect 2-3 times before the internal card is mounted.
Anyone happen to know how to mount the internal card via command line? I could then workaround it with a script via smanager.

I've got an OP3 that had MM in it (RROS). I started to have issues with the internal memory telling me whenever I tried to copy something from the internal memory or copy something into the internal memory, telling me that the device connection was lost and it was unable to proceed the copying process. I then managed to extract everything that matters to me from the phone with a simple WiFi FTP app. After that, I thought that I'd simply factory reset the phone and restore it back. After factory reset, I got the 6.0 back up and running, but as I tried to move things back to the internal memory with the stock OP3 USB cable (Win 7), the same issue did arise; while copying larger files to internal memory the connection is lost.
After that I thought that maybe wiping the whole data incl. system would do the trick. That was a bad idea, as now I have only my recovery and although the internal memory mounts when I boot up the recovery, I still can't copy larger files to it, say a new ROM for example. Therefore I currently have a paperweight in my hands and no phone. Any hints on how to solve this issue?
Are there any reports regarding bad internal memories on these phones?

Try a different USB driver. My phone had that exact issue but windows 10 auto updated the driver to smt else and my phone has worked ever since. Also your USB-C port might be dirty. I was having connection problems and sometimes when I moved my phone, I'd loose connection so I cleaned the hell out of my port and i stopped having those issues
Oh this problem sounds really familiar but not with my phone. I have never faced it on Windows 10 but I had back in the days of Win 7. Would you mind trying ADB instead of FTP? "adb push filename directory" to 'push' a file "adb pull filename directory" to pull a file from your phone. You can watch a tutorial if you want.
Thanks for the both of you for contributing to my issue. I managed to move a new Custom ROM into the internal memory with a simple USB OTG tool and a 16 GB USB memory stick. Now I've got a 7.1.1 but I might go back to 6.0 today, as I don't like the behaviour of the 7.1.1 at all.
But back to the main issue. I tested the phone in another laptop, and it worked just fine there. I then tested the phone in my laptop, in another USB port... Well what do you know, it works again just fine, so the problem seems to be in the other USB port... :silly: One should test the simplest solutions first before posting.
change the file extension to like .jpg then change it back to what it was once you have moved the file
