is there an app or hack that makes the phone vibrate on touch? i want some sort of indication that i have tapped the phone and i dont like the audible selection noise.
edit: im not really sure why i posted it in this section. i thought i was in the Q&A section but clearly not lol. if it needs to be in can be moved.

Yeah! that would be SOOOOO COOL!

Hey guys,
I modified this Cab for me and my friend to start android by pressing the PTT button, yea we are lazy but I figure some of you guys might want try it out also .
All it is the RhodiumKbdControl_GSM.CAB with the Keys already mapped Just Double click button and you’re good to go.
I made one for the RHODIUM but since you guys don't have a PTT button i mapped it to the Mute button on the back, just click it twice and your good to go
Also this is desing to work for Reefermattness cab(Path:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Project Android.lnk)
Thanks to tarkim: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240
for creating this app.
Instrucstions:
Just Double click the button to launch
Added AndroidlaunchMOD.zip File wich contais 1click/2click/LongPress option for the Tilt2 PTT button. Also added 2click/LongPress for TP2, Just unzip and install the one you would like to use.
Note: Did not add a 1click for the Tp2 version because its mapped to the Speaker mute and did not want to overwrite it..
Requirements:
- .NET CF 2.0
Installing:
- Install SdkCerts.cab (if you dont already have it)
-Tilt2PTTAndroid.cab or RhodMuteandroidMap.cab
- Soft reset
Thanks. I'm totally gonna use this!
Just worried about accidentaly pressing it lol.
Nice, good thinking bud. Even if you double click on accident if its linked to my app you still can just close it without launching Haret.

Hello all,
I am creating this thread since we all at one point had a discussion regarding having some kind of notification alert on our phones the moment we achieve Unlock.
Well guess what, Xigzil aka MARTIN BÖRJESSON has an app on the market called LG 2X/Black/3D Notifications. I've installed this on the phone, and unfortunately, it does fully support the phone yet to work properly. I've reached to Xigzil and he will try to help and update his app so it will work with our phone but he will be needing our help. Since he does not have the phone, he will need things from us, so let's do our best to help Xigzil in achieving this.
For now, this will just be placeholder until he has decided to visit us here. Hopefully it won't be long
App has been UPDATED!! Nitro is now supported, download it here: LG Touch LED Notifications
What unlock?
/me confused.

UPDATE!!
So Xigzil has just updated his app!! It is now called LG Touch LED Notifications since it supports much much more LG phones, including our dear LG Nitro HD (P930)! I have not tried it just yet, just noticed that the update kicked in and that one of the supported phones is the Nitro. So go download it and give it a try and let us know how it is!
You can download it here: LG Touch LED Notifications
To Admin/Chris: Please move this thread to either General or Themes/Apps as it no longer pertains to a development effort. Thank you.
Hmm. Not sure whether I like it or not. I though maybe it'll be a fade in and out kind of effect but it just blinks. And all three buttons blink. Going to keel it for a while and see if its really useful.

I thought the same thing too. I guess it's kind of useful if I just have my phone on the table and I'm staring at something else, until it starts blinking and gains my attention. I do think however fade options would be fantastic, and if only one button would light up.
Maybe something like Gmail - Menu button
SMS - Home button
Other - Back button
Moved to general as asked. Don't forget, if you need me just send me a pm.

Is the ability to control each of those buttons individually built into the software, though? I mean, I thought it was all or nothing when it came to the button LED's.

Yeah all or nothing for the buttons. Atleast we have some kind of notification now for the Nitro/Optimus LTE !
I like putting my phone face down so the speaker is up. Would it be possible for a notification app to blink the camera's LED flash?
Wrong topic.

Lol! [email protected], that's exactly the same thing that's on this thread, the same app made by the same guy
Liteon, to answer your question, I use this: Flashlight Notifier
It basically flashes the camera's LED when something triggers it. You can set it however you want, and the pattern on how the LED flashes too. It's very cool, but mind you, they flash really really bright, so in a dark area, expect people to jump out of their skin when this thing goes off lol!
I use both LG touch Notification and the Flashlight Notifier on this phone, so I can see the notification regardless of how you face your phone.

ooooohhhhhhh ok hahaha!
I'm trying to get this app to work, and it's simply not doing it!
What settings does everyone use for it?
I have root access and have allowed it with superuser.
My phone is running Kernelpanic 0.3, and it is a bell optimus LTE
Hi everyone,
I was wondering, with regard to the LT15i, is it possible to assign a different purpose to any of the 3 keys along the bottom?
with the advent of on screen button mods I can still get the 'back' 'home' and 'menu' options on the screen and thought it would be wonderful if I could have on screen buttons and then assign the 3 physical keys to do something else.
maybe assign apps to each one?
If its not possible, and you know why, please try to explain why rather than just saying 'no' as im really interested in trying to learn here rather than just asking random questions
Thanks!

No problem, some things are harder to find than others.
I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.
There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?
Give me a minute to shower and I'll write you an app. All you have to do is install my app, reboot, grant it root access, and profit.

hi guys!
our kernels arent supporting this awesome feature
because of that ı decided to search for how can we use this awesome feature in our phone
you can download the apk file from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4cmiu9q7g4hk900/IUw3GUcHWD
NOTE: our device galaxy w is hdpi device so download the right apk
You do NOT need a kernel with BLN support to use this app , already our device has no BLN kernels
Running the app:
install and open the app. You should be greeted by a popup showing you a list of files. Select the most appropriate (you're looking for something that has a path such as "/sys/devices/platform/bcm21553-leds/leds/button-backlight/brightness). Once you're done, click "enable buttonled in accessibility" and do so. Come back to buttonled and tap the "test buttonled" button. If your capacitive buttons flash, you're good to go. Otherwise, you will need to select a different brightness file (use auto locate or do it manually).
You may also want to customize the options.

Yes, you can just disable it but whats the point of installing if you will just disable it? Anyways, this one is good for those who doesn't use messaging often as it will use the battery often too and the good thing is, it doesn't use the lcd but the capacitive buttons. I downloaded, hdpi_jb for cm 10.2. It doesn't work I guess. Im choosing "auto locate", and it brings me 2 different path under the /sys. I tried to click them but nothing happened. Then I activated for missing call and unread message. Besides, I pressed test button, and nothing happened again, I mean there is no blinking. I activated buttonled in main settings panel too. Lastly I tried to restart phone... Guess what? It didn't work again..
Is there any solution bro?
