Auto Lock the device when not use? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm trying to find a way to set the phone to auto lock when not use, and can't seem to find it. Any tip or tricks are helpful. I'm using the AF ROM currently.
Thanks

Built into WM.
All Settings -> Lock Screen. Ckeck "Prompt if phone unsed for..."

it require password tho, any way to make it simply by sliding the lock icon to unlock?
Thanks.

You could try S2U2
I have not tried this program on the Tilt2
YMMV

I've been using S2U2 on my Tilt2 with complete success and love it. It also gives me a quick look at my schedule, battery, and latest email and SMS without even unlocking the screen.

Also, e-Natives' SmartToolkit has an auto-keylock feature. Just go to www.e-natives.com.

S2P...Will it work on Dash?

Hey guys, Ok I know that S2u2 and S2P are intended for touch screens. However, I was able to get S2u2 to work perfectly with a few minor registry changes. I would like to use S2P (another one of A_C programs), but I have not been able to get it to work. I am using version .40 and have found no registry keys that can help. Does anyone have any ideas? It looks like a cool program to incorportate with S2u2. Thanks for the advise.

How did you get s2u2 to work exactly, can you share which version you used and the reg settings? If i can get that going, I'll try to help you with the s2p.
The version of S2u2 is v1.01. When I first installed it it seemed to work but the default setting is to shut the phone off after 30 seconds of being locked so I changed that setting
hkey current user\ Software\ A_C\ S2u2\ OffLCD=17
OffLCD should be 0
THe other settings are just cosmetic. I changed the clock setting to "h" instead of "HH" so it wouldnt show military time. And I changed the file path in hkey current user\ Software\ A_C\ S2u2\ wallpaper to point to .gif files for animated wallpaper.
Thanks a bunch for the help. I really like the look of s2u2 and I think that you will to.
I also got S2U2 to work. The only problem,,,, and this is a BIG problem for me, is that the S2U2 "screensaver" would not stay on infinitely for me. If i had the phone setting there for a while and "woke up" the screen i saw that the s2U2's program was not running in the foreground and showed me the default homescreen. It was still running, however, in the background since i saw it in task manager. If i clicked on it again in task manager, the program started right back up. I'm not sure if this is a conflict of another program ( like smarttoolkit, or the weather app, or photo contacts pro) or if it's because it wasn't made for smartphones. I would love to get a fully ported version for WM 6.1 standard though.
I am still running 6.0. This could be why I have had a different result with
S2u2.
why don't u guys post what others ppc apps that works on dash??
I tried the s2u2 v 1.05 and my phone doesn't like it, maybe i had the settings wrong. I installed and then tried to run ilock, and got error. I could run s2u2 and start the lock manually though. Once i locked it, if i pressed any key, the display would light up. If i was on battery power and pressed the center key to wake it up, then the display would not come on at all , but my keypad lights would and it would lock up my phone and get stuck like that until i removed the battery. I thought I disabled it, but then I got a phone call and the slide to answer screen came up(without the slide though) and then i couldn't unlock the phone and had to pull the battery again. I finally uninstalled. Is there some reg settings that are mandatory to get it to work or is it just that buggy on smartphones?
The only reg change thats manditor is the offlcd=0. I am using V1.01. I wonder if that could be part of the issue. It never did that for me but I am on the old 6.0.

yeah, I did the offlcd=0, because without it when I manually ran it, it turned power completely off, like you said earlier. I couldn't find the 1.01 version.

Ok, got 101, now no more glitches, so it was problems caused by 1.05. But s2p doesn't seem to have a chance without dpad controls available. On the s2u2, how come it doesn't autoset when display turns off? Is there a reg setting for this? And is it just me, or is the display supposed to light up whenever a key is pressed. I still have to unlock for the key to work, but I can't have the display turning on whenever I accidentally touch a key.

Is this possible? Completely lock the screen with the Power button

(This is my first post, so I'm very sorry if I screw something up...I've been reading the XDA forums for quite some time now, so I hope I've got it right... Also, this is my very first WinMo device, so I apologize if the solution is something really stupid and easy.)
Hello guys,
I just got the TP2 about three days ago, and I SPLed it and installed WM6.5 on it. I've got the EnergyROM_RHODIUM_20091007_Titanium ROM on it right now.
However, there's something that's been annoying me. Whenever I hit the power button on the top of the TP2 to deactivate the screen, the screen will turn on if an incoming text or email should come in while the screen is off.
The only way it won't do this is if I lock it from the Honeycomb menu, then turn off the screen via the power button.
Is there a way to make the power button lock the phone and shut off the screen so it will not wake up when a text comes in?
If someone could tell me a way to do this, I'd very much appreciate it!
Thanks.
EDIT: Forgot to mention this is a T-Mobile USA Pro2.
seems this software should satisfy you :
LockDevice: Another great application that locks the device with the tap of the power button. Uses the standard windows lockscreen, very lightweight. (freeware) ~ Thanks thierry2064

If you have the WVGA(HD) Tweak tool (should be under All Programs), it has a setting that disables Wake on SMS -- it's setting 2.2.
I don't know about a setting specifically pertaining to e-mail...my very-similar setup doesn't wake up as yours does.

That's a very nice lock, I use it myself, but it's for WM 6.1.
For WM 6.5 use SmartLock.

I installed SmartLock, then, when I went looking for the WVGA Tweak Tool, it was there. I thought I didn't see it, but, oh well. I checked it and it said that Wake on SMS was disabled (default).
Maybe SmartLock did that? I'm not sure. I'm testing it right now. Thanks for all the help so far.
EDIT: IT DID WORK! Thanks so much! (Definitely makes me feel better about selecting the TP2 to replace my iPhone 3GS )

Just to make clear: LockDevice works perfectly for WM6.5. I use it myself a long time now with different 6.5 ROMs.

Auto-lock the phone, is this really possible?

Hi,
My phone keeps on living its own life in my pocket and really enjoy calling random people on my behalf. This is getting more and more irritating, and I would really love to be able to have it locked as soon as I suspend it.
I am using the official HTC ROM with WM6.5 WWE (and want to stick to this one). I also want to use the default WM6.5 lock screen which is perfect for my needs.
I allready tried a lot of solution presented on XDA, but none was perfect so far.
-HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable to 1. This solution seems to be the best, as it is built-in and light; but it doesn't work at all; the phone does not lock itself
-I tried DeviceLock from XDA, which didn't work either
-I also tried Autolock, which work quite good as long as I don't resume my phone with the sliding keyboard; after that I have to unlock it manually to get it working again...
-I also tried to add a PIN code, but this is really inconvinient for my use...
If you were able to successfuly use one of those solutions (or maybe even a new one), please let me know; you'll save my phone's life!
Thank you!
I haven't tried it, but HERE is another called LockDevice
i have always used s2u2. didnt use any of the fancy stuff, just as a screen lock. good thing is that u can set it to auto-off ur phone after n seconds. i set to 5s. so i dun even have to press the power button to off the phone. just map s2u2 to a shortcut button or softkey and it will off my phone 5s after activation. when u received and sms or miss a call, good thing is ur phone remains at the s2u2 screen, and it will turn off ur phone after 5s also.
PocketShield works great but you gotta buy it after a trial.

Woaw this was exactly what I needed!
Very light and doing what it is supposed to do; thank you very much!
EDIT: Now I am looking for pretty wallpaper (which also work in landscape) for my lock screen, any advice?
LockDevice doesn't work for me for some reason.. It does if I use the power button, but if I use a software "Power Off" shortcut it does not.. And I use the shortcut 98% of the time to turn off the phone via hitting the End button twice or tapping my right softkey at the Today screen. If I use it, the phone doesn't lock at all.
I continue to use S2U2, which works just dandy, but it's pretty resource intensive. 3.2m of ram, although I personally have no problems with battery life etc using it.
I use CSDevCtrl its got loads of options and if you want to simply lock the device when you switch the screen off or after a period of time its easy to do so.
edit: I just realised that this is now called auto lock and may be the one you referred to in the OP. If it is just to let you know I don't have to unlock again after keyboard slide out so it may be worth double checking the settings.
yep reg settings have no effect. I use SmartLock (easy find if you search for on XDA) with WM6.5 lock and Suspend Lock enabled. The WM6.5 lock screen is awsome.
My favorite has become TouchLockPro. Can be set to no lock is there is light on the sensor, or external power, and using the G-Sensor.

Disable lock/slide screen? Is there a way?

OK...
The locks on my phone are very redundant to say the least.
In order to get to my home screen I have to do the following:
1. Press the button on top of the phone.
2. Slide the first lock down.
3. Draw in my security code to get past the lock out.
Step 3 can be shut on and off but I like this security so people can't mess with my phone. However considering I have to do step 1 before and step two also, it seems a tad over kill.
Can I disable step 2, the slide down lock screen?
Basically when I press the button on the top of the phone I want to be RIGHT at the screen where I draw in my lock pattern and or hit emergency call. I was unable to find anything in the settings. Did I miss it or is it really not there? If it's not there is there any other way to do it?
I'll fully rooted if that helps.
Try "No Lock" in the Market. It gets rid of the lock screen (and has a toggle widget). Not sure the effect on the security though.
No Lock gets rid of both the slide to unlock and the security passcode entry. Very handy if you don't care about security, but you get your mail from an Exchange server and they force you to have a security password.
Don't know how to just get rid of the slide to unlock.
i have a droid incredible with the same setup..sorta...i am running virtuous2.7
have u found a way to do this without No Lock?

To verify my understanding, the OP wants to, on his Evo, disable the Sense drag/slide-down screen lock, and only use the pattern lock.
The problem is that the Sense lock remains even when the pattern lock is enabled. (Unlike the Nexus 1, the AOSP screen lock is automatically disabled when pattern lock is enabled).
Are you indicating that Switch Pro Widget will DISABLE the Sense slide-down lock while maintaining the pattern lock?

Would like to know, as my buddy was asking me about this.
Sent From My HTC Evo 4G Using Tapa Talk Pro!
If you use cyanogen rom, add power control widget and add the lockscreen option. Any time that widget is off when you hit the power button to unlock the phone you will go straight to pattern lock or home screen if you don't have one.

I would pay for an app/widget that handled this...
delete the sense lockscreen from the phone, it's just a file you can remove. Once you do that the system reverts to the standard aosp lock screen (or the pattern if you have security set).

I'm aware of this mod. People should be aware that you will need root access to delete the file. At the same time, I read that even with the AOSP/standard/vanilla lock screen, it (the standard lock screen) does NOT go away when the pattern lock is ENABLED.
For the Nexus 1, the standard lock DOES go away when pattern is ON, but it does not seem so with the Evo.
Can someone verify/dispute?
Thanks.
I can verify that after deleting the HTClockscreen.apk from my phone Vanilla lock appeared after a reboot. I then enabled a pattern lock only to find the Vanilla lock still necesary before getting to the pattern lock screen.

Thanks. 1st post for CzarMat!!! Exactly my point--we need to find a way to make the Vanilla lock go away when pattern lock is enabled. But how??
This is all a bit redundant if the OP has Exchange security enabled on his device, which he has yet to clarify (unless I missed something).
I'd like an answer to this also...
Post 2.2, I was able to use No-Lock from the market to do exactly what the OP is asking. I have an Exchange account with a Security Policy (PIN) in place and have since upgraded to 2.2. It's a little redundant that I have to hit power, slide to unlock, then enter pin.
My workaround, for now, is setting the PIN lock screen to enable after 5 minutes, however I still have to slide regardless - UGHH, annoying.
I just want it to work the way I had it before with 2.1
is there any way to edit or app that enables a longer time period before the lock pattern screen comes up? LIke i think the max is like 15min
I want to be able to at least set the lock pattern screen to a 1hr interval, maybe 2hr
is this possible somehow?
Well, you can hit the "menu" capacitive button instead of sliding for a quicker unlock to the pattern security screen. That's what I normally do since it's a bit of finger acrobactics from the power button->aosp slide unlock->pattern screen.

I agree. Apparently this is possible, I'm working on a solution right now. Perhaps an app I can release to the market. It will essentially unlock the phone for you - you may see a bit of the lock the second you unlock the phone, but if things go according to plan it will automatically bypass the slide lock for you.

Excellent news! Still looking for a solution. I think simulating a "menu" press will unlock the screen. Looking foward to it. Thanks!!
anyone come up with a solution for this?
