HTC Quietly Brilliant - Start Up WVGA CAB

The files for this Animation was providet by [ElCondor]
So what i did.. because at first i don`t like the Backround colour i modify the backround frames and make them full black and full white without any shadows also clear some pixels and make the animation faster and under 100kb
The final result is really cool looking animation, fast and smooth i think to make diferent colours and styles when i have more time.
Also here is Sound from the Windows 7 Start up but because in diferent ROMs sometimes the Start up sound is with diferent name i will post the sound separate and if anyone like it can just rename and copy in the Windows Folder.
I Already test it few times on my HD and the result is Amazing.

Can you "clean up" the white version aswell?

Yes of course what kind of colour you need? i mean i can do it diferent colour if u want
I can clean it to be Super White or i can make it any diferent colour if u want let me know and i need around 10 minutes to make it

Let this be clear: I just call this stealing. It took hours to make it, he grabbed it, enhanced it a bit (will be about 2 minutes to do) and uploaded it without asking anything...

2nd i Write with Border that you provie the files for this Animation.
3rd This Animation that i UPLOAD is complate diferent in theAnimation have 64 Frames and REDUCE this GIF ANIMATION CLEAR it and Make it DIFERENT COLOUR also Your file is Over 200KB my File is Under 90KB

Maybe is Not enought that i write your name.. you need to tell you SPECIAL thanks for the reson that i re-build the files myself? and like you can see i NEVER PRETEND THIS IS MY OWN FILES and i wrote that the Files for this Animation are providet by You witch is the TRUTH.. and TRUTH is also that your Animation was SLOW and BAD Colour so i re-build this by myself because i don`t like your Animation how look like on my Phone i cant understand where is the problem? I can`t make something that i like or what? Completely different? Just do a compare between these and the ones attached on my thread, nearly exactly the same. Fact remains that you are using the complete animation I made which took more than 3 hours.

This is NOT True.. From how long time you have this POST???? and When Clear the Animation and also don`t forget that i Upload the Files Now you have the same files.. OF COURSE you will say you made them.. then how u pretend that my Files are the same with your files when i Upload the Clear Animation 1st? and When you pretend you know almost everything and this is a job for 2 minutes WHY you don`t do it by yourself for 2 minutes and all will be happy me too and i will not do it by myself will just Download yours.
Because it takes 2 minutes to do it for ONE resolution. I have to make it for 4, and also the white ones. And I do not need to update it so many times because it's simply a waste of time.

So everything was fine untill i upload the Animation.. witch mean when the peoples don`t have what to compare of course will not know with for sure do this is Good or its BAD..
But when this person who download the Faster Animation he saw the diference and now there have a problem because NOW he can see that this Animation is better.
you haven't explained me anything, I know how to modify every frame with photoshop but I was just wondering how to change it when you don't have the PSd file. I am not a noob, otherwise I coul have not been able to make this animation - which obviously many people like, downloaded more than 4000 times.

Many Peoples Like with SURE 4000 Downloads but they don`t have what to compare so don`t tell me right now that the Peoples LOVE Grey PIXELS animation than FULL BLACK.
MY FALES are totally DIFERENT from your FALES if anyone download BOTH and compare will see the Diference then why u pretend its your FILES AT ALL?

The fact of the matter is you are both posting modifications of material that has been copyrighted by other people (HTC and Microsoft). Neither of you could claim any kind of ownership over the images over which you are now squabbling.
Additionally, this is a forum where members post their work, making it public and while it is polite to provide credits/attribution (see my threads as an example), once you have posted something you have no control over how other members use it. If you have posted original material that is subject to copyright and/or a creative commons licence, and if you are earning enough, you can ask your lawyer to ask them to remove any material that might be "stolen". In this case, neither of you can steal something from the other when you have both in fact stolen the material from somebody else (as per first sentence above).
Finally, nobody wants to read your ridiculous arguement with each other so I suggest you continue via PM if at all.

Here's my opinion:
This situation seems to be similar to when someone "skins" a work originally created by another. From what I've seen on here, the person who enhanced the original work usually makes it clear that their work is only an ENHANCEMENT or MODIFICATION and includes a link to the original creator.
So I think it's only fair that tsalta edits his first post to make it more clear that his work is a modification and post a link to ElCondor's original post, which is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587867.
My opinion is only based on your exchanges and original threads...I have no idea what ElCondor had to do to create his work and what tsalta had to do to create his work, so my opinion could be wrong. I hope you guys can work it out.
EDIT: looks like andrew posted clearer information about these works while I was typing...

I Aree with you too and this is what im saying. The reason to don`t write that he made the Files is very simple because he really didn`t make the files that are uploaded here on this post.
Also i dont have any problem at all so like i say i made it for myself and then decide that i can share with other peoples who like it.
Anyway we are not kids here and i really think this is more than stupid for this Reason... The Moderators to remove this Thread and all to be fine.
All i want is to make better animaton like you can see i don`t win anything from this only headache and crazy conversation....

just a little bit explanation about the first idea & work from elcondor in your thread to skin htc stuff would be nice to him but guys ,i have the same thing in the past,just stop it and come back on topic,give the credits to elcondor and thanks for the work you also made,the best thing is to work togheter and not to fight on the same work

YES i want and mean the same i never pretend anything im just saying the facts so He Made the files and i saw it from him but i make them better and also i tell him about this and explain to him how to do it etc and he say Its Super he will edit the other files too and all was fine until the other day when he come and start to write in this Thread like i STOLE something...
Like andrew-in-woking we Both Stole something and here the 80% are stolen things if we think like this because we use corporate Logos and etc without official permission.
Also in this case we Are Both Right because The GIF Animation is Animation made from alot Images frame by frame.. so He made the Animation Its True but Its True also that This Animation is diferent from his because all 64 Frames are Edited not only one Image and on the final we Both are RIGHT and when all the Frames are diferent this is complate diferent animaton but i never pretend i do it by myself like everyone can see i write in the 1st post that He Provide the Files for that Animation and i write What exactly i to.. modify clear faster and thats it. Is there a way to whip WinMo off the device and just run droid??
Yes droid has it's issues, but as long as I have wifi,gps and txting functions, I'm pretty much fine..lol

but i do got an idea that came to me the other day to make it a faster boot into wm so it wont stay there long. if it actually works, i dont know since i still like wm and dont feel like trying it out.
ok, here is what i thought of.
1. Install "HD Tweak" (google it or search xda)
2. Launch HD Tweak and go to section 12. startup (i beileve its what is called) and disable the startup animation and sound. and then close the program, if it ask you to restart DONT.
3. Go to settings and disable HTC Sense (or what ever your running) and have nothing checked on the boxes so its just pretty much the background as your home.
4. Go to file explorer (or what ever you use) and then go to the andboot file (or what ever you have it under) and create a shortcut and put the shortcut into the \Windows\Startup file
5. Restart your phone and hope it works.
what might also help is if your have a fast ROM that starts up on boot and if possible do a hard reset and dont install nothing so it will keep a fast speed and maybe boot. then follow the steps mentioned above.
just remember that this is just an idea so i dont know if this would actually work or if anything would happen to your phone. if it does work and you want to use wm again then just take out your sd card so the shortcut to haret wont work and wm should continue from there.

But yea...I followed the directions and got that..lol
I'm running the Energy rom..Theres like 5 things in my startup folder..should I take em all out and just leave Haret in?? And also, wouldn't Haret need a way to get directed to the kernel and stuff for droid?? Also..Was I supposed to add the Haret.exe file???? I looked for the andboot folder and I didn't add it to my sd card..All my files for droid were inside it and I just copied and pasted all of em out to my SD card.

haha well you almost had the idea but you messed up. you werent supposed to copy the haret itself but where ever you have it located long click it and maybe in the normal file explorer it lets you create a shortcut (dont remember since i installed a cab called file explorer extension which gives it more options). with that short cut, move it over to the startup folder. and just in case make a copy of your startup.txt and rename the copy default.txt so if the start up ever ends up getting corrupted then you can just click on the run button.
but my theory shouldnt make your phone into a paperweight because all your really doing is just disabling your home to plain and adding a shortcut, nothing could make it a paperweight in general but haret still does have a verrrrryyyy little chance to make something go wrong which you should already know.
but my way doesnt kick wm out since it still needs to boot up to see the haret shortcut in the startup folder. just makes it quicker to boot into android on alot faster

Don't want winmo? Buy a driod phone. I don't think we will ever have sound on out Tilt2 with andriod.

some of us tried nand boot on the tp2. You can read on ppcgeeks.

If all goes well I should have one of these devices to test and hack on. Once I do I'll try my best to get android flashed to nand. How far is along is the android port for this phone? I'm getting the CDMA Sprint variant for very cheap.

But only if Android is deemed useable enough for day to day use I guess. The main problem is that almost all the devs have moved to HD2 android development, so apart from the in call volume fix we haven't seen a new functionality for at least 3 months (GPS), and no major breakthrough for ages. The only ones actively developing for TP(2)/TD(2) are working on the new topaz board and getting it to run on the Xperia IMHO and some dudes that reefermatters is in contact with, although reef hasn't posted an update from them for 2 weeks now
I really hope android will run smoothly on the TP2, but honestly I think we will never get it to work properly
Let's hope for a miracle soon

you are preaching to the choir my friend. I'm one of the devs working on the tp2. Jonpry is still attacking sound and phh lending a hand as well. Fyi this is really nothing to do with android. All we do is kernel dev.

Right now we are craping out during the usb init. So we will be testing a custom kernel soon. I'm reading up on the diamond boards since they seem to have gone over all of this.

Where could one take a look at the source for the kernel. I've been meaning to dive in and see if I could lend any assistance for a while. I figure I'm going to be stuck with the TP2 for a while (sprint user on sero, so no chance to get an evo) - so figure I should put some of my coding abilities to good use and give back some to those who've helped open my eyes to Android

Adroid sounds in HTC Rhodium CMDA Sprint (IDEA FOR BABIJOOE)

Hi i dunno if here its the right place to post but i hope.
I was following the Babijoee thread for the XDandoird project hope some day he could do the Rhodium get sound, and i mean, in applications and ringing (in the log said that it does but in my phone isnt works ).
Well the point of this is that i was seraching for internet and get in to the PPCgeeks forum, where a user post that he can do it, and i tryied the version of Android, installed in my SD and open the haret, and it work i mean i have sound in my Rhodium Android, but... the data and the signal isn't work.
Im not developer and nothing but i just get the idea to mixed the Babijoee OS and the Ppcgeeks OS, i was playing around a couple of combinations and finally get one that can connect to Data, Signal and Sound... But the problem with this is that some times just reset by itself or just get a black screen (like if was locked or Stanby) and cant wake up.
So i was wonder if maybe babijoe could check this "combination" and maybe get his own SO works following some configurations from the Ppcgeeks version... that way we can have a Rhodium sounding and working with the cool babijoee Android version, cause i love it, its very fast and works awesome in my device.

Uhm... DUDE! Use the search!
Your radio/data not working it probably due the the startup.txt not having the force cdma command in it... Or it's set to 0 instead of 1 (assuming you're using a CDMA device... if Sprint, then yes.)
Sound works. You just need the newest kernel image.

Also not sure why you put "For Babijoee" when its a simple question. The system that Joe uses is XDAndroid, the system that I use is XDAndroid. They are build from the same git repo, with our own personal touches to each. They are the SAME THING. THEY BOTH HAVE DATA, SIGNAL, SOUND.......
The reason you dont have sound is obviously you need to update your kernel, and seeing as you have not read very much you probably have a jumble of files on your SD card, and your startup.txt probably needs to be set up for cdma/gsm depending on what you use. Maybe you are getting crashes and FCs because youre mix and matching 2 different OS systems together??? My instructions are pretty simple, and the FAQ is pretty clear. It seems to me you need to read up a bit more before you dive head first into projects.

I dont said that Babijoee's system dont have data/Signal, i said the one i get from ppcgeek dont have it, i dont want to be unpolite but, maybe u should read first again what i post.
and i know that be newbie is not a excuse, i just want to give an "idea" to babijooe intead just askin for things, i was trying most of the RC from He and i really like them, i see my mobile go faster without crash, in comparison with other Dev's i have been tried on the web and other forums.
its just like a "feedback" from his great Dev's, and i was thinking that i have something to "help" whit his devs.

We both are using the same RC What Im saying is, you can have data! We have data on our builds for both CDMA and GSM, so its only a matter of figuring out what settings are not correct in your startup.txt!! It should work for you with only a few changes!! There is no need for a "fix" because its already working!
Read the FAQ about the startup.txt document! It holds all of your settings and must be changed in windows, winmo, some kind of txt editor (it must remain txt, and not be changed to word or office document).
This will work for either joe's build, or my build either one!
look for this line:
force_cdma=1 <=for CDMA
force_cdma=0 <=for GSM
Change your accordingly!

So then you use Sprint? (rhod400=sprint CDMA) Did you try to remove your SIM card before you boot? There is a piece about that in the FAQ.

Well this is working really good, i have sound in all aplications like Twidroyd, call, sms, gmail.
Most things works fine, ehy i dont say everything cause:
- Just one time i get a reset
- the battery just gets crazy, some time its totally drained and 20 seconds later are full again (kinda crazy lol)
- same with Data (3g conectios/internet) some times just dont get any connection and after some minutes gets ok again.
Really thanx i hope, get better and better with the Dev's cheer from here and good vibes!

Edit: The Data stills doing it, ge the icon but not the data/transfer :S

Ok after a few days trying this new Dev, works really good most of the time, but i dunno why some times just get on a reboting loop , just starts android in the Launcher Pro Home, and by itself it restarts, and again i enter to the SD (from WM) start Haret and after the bootscreen (android) it restarts again.
Does any Configuration maybe its wrong? or, the zImage? or the Kernel?
Please if somebody can tell me, the truth is that i dont have any clue cause i dunno this thing of developing, but like to lear.

XDA Gallery - Chrome Extension - Now on Chrome Store

What is it:
This is a quick extension I coded up to turn XDA threads into an image gallery. The extension button will enable when you're on a topic that it is able to translate, clicking it will open a new tab that dynamically fetches images as your scroll down. Keep in mind this is an Alpha, did it in one day, so it may ( read "most likely" ) will have problems. Its great on those "Post your screenshots" ( wallpapers, cases, whatever ) type threads.​
Permissions:
- "Access your data on forum.xda-developers.com" - This is to fetch images from the forum, I haven't messed around with removing it since I was just using this personally but decided to release to you. Promise I don't care, nor gather, anything about what you do on XDA.
- "Access your tabs and browsing activity" - This is to detect when you switch between tabs and enable/disable the extension button. Also I do have this hooked into Google Analytics now, but I only gather extension page views to see what's being used. In the future I'll be hooking it into events as I add features( if it's popular enough ) to decide where to put my efforts. No personal information is collected.
- "Storage": Allow extension to save Extension Settings.​
How to Install:
New: Added to official Chrome store now just add via https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/xda-gallery-beta/bohmnlfnbncjhpjagccfgblhcdgicdnp​
Reporting Bugs:
If you'd like to report bugs then please give me the thread you had an issue with, and if you can narrow it down to an image then link to the post containing that image ( if it's working, there is a link under each image to bring you to the post. ).​
What's Next:
Currently the extension will start showing images from the forum page you launched it from. Going to implement a way to jump to the beginning or specific page.
Implement scrolling upwards to load the previous pages images, this is needed for the next item.
Lots more ideas for "community" type features But gotta get the basics hammered down first!

Now when viewing images in the popup you can click to view prev and next, or just use the arrow keys to navigate!
New Extension Settings page, styled to blend in and match chromes style for settings.
Setting to adjust the minimum number of images to fetch( Careful here as it wont render any images until it finds at least this number, could take awhile if you try and use on a thread that doesn't have many images ).
Setting to turn on debug mode ( Will show logging in the Chrome console. NOTE: I'd leave this disabled unless you need to troubleshoot an issue as it could slow down logic a bit )

Lots of fixes and enhancements in this one.
First off, thanks to Pooley! He is an awesome guy, and very talented. Thanks to him with have a great, professional looking icon!
Aspect ratio is now respected
Added image zoom capability
Now identify images with broken links and shows in small window( as to not break scrolling functionality for now )
Images should also layout nicely in a column format
Fixed quite a few bugs( hopefully without creating new ones )
Hmmm... seems like there should be more, but I'm too lazy to look at my commit log, so just check it out

but, unfortunately.. its not showing anything to me yet.. when it opens in new tab.. all it shows is these.. on all threads page which has images .. same result for me yet..
as its still first build/alpha.. i know it will get fixed when you get time.. so, waiting for that.. thanks for this nice initiative..

Didn't use anything that would exclude Linux, I'll have to look into that.

Been awhile since I updated this, but did a complete rewrite of the extension, should now be working much better. Replaced attachment with new extension and added changelog in the OP.

Yea, that would be awesome... I'm sure it'll come eventually( *fingers crossed* )

It doesn't work if the page contains a gif. But gifs are shown in the gallery though.
Example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38762538#post38762538. And i think sometimes it also happens if a gif is present in a user's signature.

So today i made several posts and topics, and i noticed that when it's not a small amount of text, it cannot be posted without a workaround.
This error will appear: "Oops! We broke the matrix. Someone call Neo!" and it tells me to look in the console for more details. If i look there, it turns out to be an 403 Forbidden without any other useful details provided

First make a smaller post (so you cut down your text, and save the rest that is 'too long' according to the bug) and then once posted, edit it. Add the missed text while editing, and click Save.. that will work without errors.

What I usually do is write all my stuff out before hand on a text file, then copy pasta. It is much more efficient!

Yes, now they exist, because i used the workaround of first shortening it, and later editing back in the text i cut from it, to avoid the error while initially posting it. And certainly i had all text in my editor and then respectively the "Post thread" and "Post reply" buttons gave me the error, if that's what you meant.
The issue really looks like a 'character limit', but in a way of a bug. It's not like it says "Too many characters" or anything, lol. But still, 403 means the server refuses it.

You don't believe me, i also said it replying to the PM: im sure about my case, my eyes dont lie haha. I mean, the text editor was filled with content that i intended to post, and it just refused to post it (with that error) unless i made it shorter, and then i could edit it in later.

I think your error logs are giving you the wrong impression, like the bug causes them to be limited as well? So it like indicates there was no content, as the bug make the content non-transmittable in the first place?
Did anyone else face this issue, when making posts & topics that aren't small? Like the size of my example topics that required the workaround to post

I'll do some experimenting with the problem you've had. I'm not sure if it's a character limit or maybe the range of mixed content you have (links, code etc).
I've not had reports of this from other people though.

It wasn't me who mentioned typing it up in another app.. that was jenneh. I don't know if maybe he faces the same issue (or various), so that he resorted to that
I wrote the content entirely in XDA's text editor.. when it comes to mixed content, all i did was:
- Have cursive and non-cursive text combined
- Have links (added through the XDA editor link button)
- Have varying text sizes, with size selected through the XDA editor
But when it comes to the last point, yes i did copypaste content from other locations in my text/other posts on XDA forums.. not to use it at all, but to work around a font size bug that also exists: see Issue: cannot select original font size, after changing it once in the editor purely for it to inherit the size of the copied text (which was original size). So it was to use the workaround, and then remove the copied text again. I doubt this step was involved though
Also, if it's content, it's weird that you can edit it in afterwards, but not post it right away. I'd figure that guide writers & release topic starters are the first ones to run into this (if the issue is triggered by an invisible, non intended character limit through a bug). Maybe no one reported it because large posts aren't so common, and then if they want to, they will simply spend half a minute to perform the "Editing it in" workaround rather than reporting it. It's a simple workaround because editing in lets you preserve the layout & style if you're copying it directly from another tab, the tab in which you failed to submit the post. So i figure people duplicate the tab once they run into the issue, post it in the new tab with only like 30% of content size, and then edit it in from the original tab. I wrote the content entirely in XDA's text editor.. when it comes to mixed content, all i did was:
- Have cursive and non-cursive text combined
- Have links (added through the XDA editor link button)
- Have varying text sizes, with size selected through the XDA editor
But when it comes to the last point, yes i did copypaste content from other locations in my text/other posts on XDA forums.. not to use it at all, but to work around a font size bug that also exists: see Issue: cannot select original font size, after changing it once in the editor purely for it to inherit the size of the copied text (which was original size). So it was to use the workaround, and then remove the copied text again. I doubt this step was involved though
Also, if it's content, it's weird that you can edit it in afterwards, but not post it right away. I'd figure that guide writers & release topic starters are the first ones to run into this (if the issue is triggered by an invisible, non intended character limit through a bug). Maybe no one reported it because large posts aren't so common, and then if they want to, they will simply spend half a minute to perform the "Editing it in" workaround rather than reporting it. It's a simple workaround because editing in lets you preserve the layout & style if you're copying it directly from another tab, the tab in which you failed to submit the post. Ok, well there could be several possibilities.
I have increased the Character limit from 60000 to 80000
There are several other things that can prevent posting.
Minimum 3 minutes between discussion posts
min 30 seconds between regular posts
max 20 messages per page
40 images per page
and it was 5 media embeds per page now 10.
There is also a screening for certain words and phrases and repetitions of some words/phrases.
The reason splitting posts sometimes works is because the system screens the part you are just about to post not the combination of the existing part plus the new part. So for things like repeated text, links etc., it can sometimes circumvent the standard limits.
On the character limit above (which I've increased), it does count unseen background code as characters. Sometimes if text is copied from other Apps it copies huge amounts of invisible and unused code which can gobble up the character limit.

Same here.
The site glitch's or freezes occasionally. Lol, I attribute it to the relentless site maintenance being preformed.
The old problem of losing an entire post while composing it is gone, yay!
But the blue...

Site maintenance happens very often, of late. I don't know why but it is being looked into.
Quite probably, the issue is not on your side. When you have the issue, just wait for a couple of minutes and refresh the page. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the information. I was going crazy with this It happens often but usually it gets fixed in few minutes as you said, sometimes the site is accessible from different browser.

Pretty obvious. No big deal unless you are punching the post button, then bad things sometimes happen
That's annoying, but the site is better then before about losing data while writing a post; auto backup seems to work but it's a bit twitchy.
Lol, so the mod gods can't work seamlessly in the background? I'm appalled

Thank you for the effort. Whatever magic you did, it has resolved the issues including the site maintenance issues. Yesterday and today it has been trouble-free.
