Hi All,
I'm writing an app for WM6 targetting the smartphone platform but my app keeps losing focus and the default WM6 home screen is getting focused so I'm not receiving any keypresses.
How can I force my window to always keep focus?

Is there a preference, setting or registry tweak that can be set to prevent Pocket Word/Excel from going into the screen listing all files of their type upon quiting. It is unfortunate when a quit is not a quit. WM2003SE by the way.
If you install SPB Pocket Plus it has a close button feature that lets you "really close" applications. If you tap and hold on the sudo-close button it pops up a menu allowing you to close, close all, minimize etc.
Not so
I have and use that app and feature but it does not addresss this issue I raised. Thanks anyway.
Hello all,
I can't see all available programs and system functions on the today screen customization window. Energy/battery and mouse mode applets are missing for example. Same goes for the harware button mapping window.
Is there a windows registry hack to add these functions to the today screen, rather than installing a third party app?
Also, is there a way to disable GPRS connection by default and make it to ask you whenever it connects? I have no flat data rate and Tomtom sometimes tries to connect to get traffic data..
Thanks..
Hi All,
One thing that has consistently irritated me about the new SenseUI is what I see as an inconsistent "Back" button in the contact app to exit the application! It goes completely against the general established way in winmo devices to exit an application. The general practice in the windows world to use the 'x' at the top to come out of an application. That is just plain intuitive when using a winmo device.
In the SenseUI contacts app, there is no 'X' at the top right corner !! why?? However bad and dated the UI is of windows is, going against the general UI rules of the OS makes using an app even more confusing and plain frustrating.. Especially for the contact app which is one of the more (if not most) heavily used app if not the most.
Also all the ROMs seem to continue that same philosophy.. why is that ??
Is it only me that sees this as inconsistent and counter intuitive ?

On my phone the 2nd HARDWARE button from the right goes back to the home screen.
Sorry I wasnt clear in my original post. I was talking about the soft buttons in the UI. The "back" button in the lower left corner of the contact application - the application where you can browse through your contacts.
The "back" button there goes back to the previous screen you were on. This becomes more of a problem when I have to go back to the home screen or some other screen after or during a call. for e.g. after a call, if I started the call from the contacts app, I am dropped back on the detail page of the contact . no wi have to click back twice or more time ( if I started from the call history page) to come back to the home screen..
This I think is a waste of time.. A simple 'x' button at the top should allow me to exit the application and come back to the home screen..

PS: All buttons I speak of are soft UI buttons and not the h/w buttons on the phone.
I spent an hour today looking at the note II demo unit.
One thing I could not figure out was how to keep handwriting recognition turned on all the time in apps like S Note.
I'm planning on buying the note as a replacement for my livescribe pen and pad. Once I finally figured out how to turn handwriting recognition on, it seemed to turn back off every time the app was closed and re-opened.
Certainly there is a better way than having to manually press the mic icon, pick handwriting, etc every time you open the app.
Too bad microsoft keeps OneNote so limited on mobile devices, it would be a perfect addition to the Note.
I like the stock Messages app for its "favorites bar" and the direct-call motion functionality, but i can't stand that it turns the screen on every time a new message comes in. It is a problem when the phone is in my pocket and a message comes in and the contact between my phone and my leg (even through my pocket!) causes my phone to do things - or at least sit there and make noise as it tries to unlock. I'm using Google's Messenger app for the time being, but i don't like it as much. I think this used to be an option in the Messages app on my Note 2. Any suggestions? Thank you,
