Connection selection screen, cab? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi guys, I downloaded a lite ROM and Ive been able to set everything up. But the only thing that is missing and I cant find is the connection screen that shows up when you plug the phone into a pc. The one where you can select Activesync, USB or Internet Sharing.
Does anyone have that in cab format? Can they please post it?

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC
No need for a cab..

Nope, not that simple......... I was using a lite ROM, which was striped of it in all ways. No solution.

Issue: Xda Live And Usb Drivers

just updated and this is a HUGE speed boost on my 8525. A few questions though, does anyone know where i can get the video call cab or the name of it in the ext_rom to see if i have it saved on my pc, also i updated and as soon as i plugged my usb cable in it tried to install some RSID(cant remember exactly what it was) drivers and i read a solution to take out the entries in the registry on my pc but now it tries to install windows mobile drivers and once it finishes i get the yellow exclamation mark and a failed to install message so now im unable to sync and my 8525 doest detect it like it did before. does anyone have a fix for this? also im running the latest ActiveSync 4.5
EDIT: I read on here that someone had this issue and it was fixed via the 5-in-1 addons is this true? is there another way to get mine working, anyone have a link to the htc usb drivers?
To sync correctly you need to do the following:
(on your device) Goto start>settings>connections>USB to PC and untick "Enable advanced network functionality". This should allow the device to talk to activesync.
(on your pc) Go into activesync (without the device connected) and goto File>Connection Settings, in the drop-down menu titled "This computer is connected to:" select "The Internet".
Hope this works ok. The video call option is enabled using the files in this post.
wow man thanks your a life saver it worked like a charm.

ActiveSync Issues

Alright, I just recently upgraded my 8525 to CUSTEL's v2.5 WM6 rom not too long ago. Shortly after upgrading, oddly enough, I cant really sync my phone period to my PC. Everytime I connect my device, it picks it up as a Windows Mobile Device, but then afterwards gives me an error telling me the device wasnt properly installed . Ive trekked around a bit and to no avail, couldnt find a solution to this kind of problem. Does anyone know exactly whats going on and how I can resolve this?
I am getting the exact same problems. My phone seems to sync the first time, but then afterwards i get the usb device not recognised pop up
Did you find a solution?
I actually did.
Start > Settings > Connections Tab > USB to PC.
Make sure to disable Advanced Network Functionality, because it'll recognize your device as a modem if you dont.

No connection to Internet through ActiveSync

Hello,
I've upgraded my HTC P3300 with the htt://member.htc.com downloadable HTC_P3300_FRA_3.13.406.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R.exe
The ROM updated like a charm.
Since done I can no more connect my P3300 to Internet through my PC while using ActiveSync (4.5).
This worked correctly with WM5, on standard settings.
The USB to PC "Enhanced network" setting is enabled, I tried to disable and enable it again with no change. All settings are by default.
My PC get a 169.254.2.2 IP adress and I can Ping 169.254.2.1
Trying to load a page in IE returns a warning window "Connection impossible, go to connections settings"
Thanks for any suggestion,
Jean-Jacques

Way to disable internet sharing on WM6.1 device?

Hi all,
Is there a way to disable this? It's driving me crazy - each time I connect the HTC Touch HD to the computer, instead of syncing it tries to share the phone's GPRS with the PC (which I dont want/need)..
Is there a way of permanently disabling internet sharing on the phone? I need activesync back!
cheers for any help..
*BUMP* IO have this problem please help
Take a look at this post.

I was having the same problem and it did the work.
Basically this is the solution that works for me.
you can also use a registery hack:
use your favourite regeditor;
change
HKLM\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\“DefaultClientDri ver“=“RNDIS“
into:
HKLM\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\“DefaultClientDri ver“=“Serial_Class“

I have the same problem.
Editing the registry didn't work, I can't change to Serial_Class because it is already Serial_Class.
I have found the way to solve this....damn easy.
Today, is my second time I faced this problem. During the 1st time, I have tried many ways: restarts, edit registry, delete and add settings, but it didn't work, finally I reset the PDA and re-install all my programs. Damn!
The way to resolve this problem is: let it connects the internet sharing once, then unplug the USB cable and reconnect!!! I will automatic let you choose whether to connect as "ActiveSync", "Disk Drive" and "Internet Sharing", so you choose back the "ActiveSync". That's all....easy right?

[Q] Problem with selection USB-PC activesync or disk-drive

Hi,
when I connect it to the PC me appears the window of "chosen connect" but any options use, start always the option selectionated in preselesction SETTING-> USB to PC also if I check option " you ask type of logon when me connection"
sorry for my english
tahnk you
Are you trying to say that your phone always connects to your computer as a USB device even if you select something different?
Sounds like it.
I've got a similar issue, my screen is dead so I can't select anything and it comes up as a disk drive. Kinda need to get it to active sync so I can back the phone up to restore to my new one.
Without being able to see or use the screen I can't, unless there is a keyboard method to choose activesync.
when I connect htc (with USB) to PC, appears this option selection:
(whatch the image to the link)
farm3.static.flickr.com/2007/4514994648_92afa7bd15.jpg
now, if I select the option disk-drive,
don't start option disk-drive but activesync because is preselect in menu "SETTING-> USB to PC"
(whatch the image to the link)
farm5.static.flickr.com/4060/4496803689_c5ace06880.jpg
the same think if I select the option activesync but the preselect in menu "SETTING-> USB to PC" is diskdrive, start option activesync...

This is not the correct behavior.
So it seems like it works properly if you have the preselection set as "diskdrive" One option could be to just leave it set there.
A common problem though, and is probably what is giving you trouble, is the checkbox "enable faster data syncronization". Frequently, this just doesn't work out (not sure why) and the computer can not establish an active sync connection. The ppc or activesync self corrects by defaulting to a diskdrive connection.
uncheck the "enable faste data syncronization" box in settings, restart your phone and pc (verify the box is still unchecked after restart) and try the active sync again. Let us know how it goes... good luck.

Tried with the faster data box and without, mine starts active sync...which I want and need, it lasts for about one minute, then it disconnects and can no longer recognize the device unless I shut down the computer and do it again....but it just repeats this same things every time.

Hello!
Please insert this into registry:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers]
"DefaultClientDriver"="RNDIS"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Services\HTCUSBToPCPopUp]
"Module"="\\Windows\\HTCUSBToPCSrv.dll"
"Prefix"="UTP"
"Index"=dword:00000000
"Info"=dword:00000000
"Order"=dword:0000000a
"Flags"=dword:00000000
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Context"=dword:00000000
"DisplayName"="HTCUSBToPC Service"
"Description"="USB To PC PopUp Service"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\USBtoPC]
"AskConnect"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\USBToPCPopUP]
"OnlyTwoChoice"=dword:00000000
"ItemFlags"=dword:0000001f
"DeviceCompanion"=dword:00000000
"ShowTime"=dword:00000005
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\USBtoPC]
"SyncMode"=dword:00000000
"EnableAdvanceChecked"=dword:00000001
"DisablePopUpUI"=dword:00000000
This should reset USB_To_PC to default settings and also ensure that you're running the proper driver.
Have a nice day,
Jackos
Just tried another cable...and it's working...idk why, but glad it's working again.
I have changed the keys of registry but i have the problem because ther is not some keys....
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers]
--> "DefaultClientDriver"="RNDIS" <----> (the value is Mass_Storage_Class) <--
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Services\HTCUSBToPCPopUp]

--> "Order"=dword:0000000a <----> my value is 10(0X00000A) <--

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\USBtoPC]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\USBToPCPopUP]

--> "DeviceCompanion"=dword:00000000 <----> I have not this key <--
--> "ShowTime"=dword:00000005 <----> I have not this key <--
I have --> "Option" = 1(0X00001)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\USBtoPC]
"SyncMode"=dword:00000000
"EnableAdvanceChecked"=dword:00000001
"DisablePopUpUI"=dword:00000000
Just create the keys.
I tried to make a cab from those reg entries but couldn't make it install successfully...
There might be typo ("Advance" instead of "Advanced" ?) or is the cab I made not good for my machine (TP2) ?
Could anyone make OR help me make a working cab installer (without confirmation please, my "touch" screen is broken and I need it to put the original rom back before sending my TP2 back) ?
Thanks a lot
