Hey,
i wrote an Application for my HTC Touch HD.
Here, i would like to use the acceleration sensor, or G(ravity)-sensor, to make the application ratate, when i move the mobile.
Does someone have a clue, how i can implement .dll Files and SDKs into my Visual Studo, to be able to communicate with the G-Sensor?
Thank you
Yours, dash
and now in german ^^:
Hi zusammen,
Danke vielmals
LG dash
Hi
I never used the gravity sensor in an application but I found an interessting article some weeks ago.

Hi,
I'm new here. I hope, not to bother you with a Question, that has been answered a million times, but I couldn't find anything concerning my problem.
I own a HTC Universal, branded as MDA Pro by t-mobile Germany. It works fine so far, not very fast, but OK as a telephone and organizer. Even Navigon 5 worked quick and smooth. Now I've installed Navigon 6, to get newer maps. After the installation the problems began. The application works slow. Calculating a route of 100 kilometres takes up to 4 minutes, and often breaks up with memory allocation errors.
Now my question:
Can I do anything, to make the application work more fast and stable, or should I forget Navigon 6 and return to Navigon 5?
Technical data:
MDA Pro
ROM-Version: 1.30.113 GER
ROM-Date: 04/13/06
Radio: 1.10.03
Ext. ROM: 1.30.223
Hope, you can help me.
Thanks in advance
Kai
Man, check navigon.de and get the 6.1 upgrade.
DONT remove your 6.0 installations, 6.1 DOES need it.
Viel Glück, nach dem Patch wirds viel viel flüssiger
Greetings
Hi,
thanks for the tip. I forgot to mention: The version is 6.1.5 build 741, but it's still slow and unstable.
@ HansiHusten: hat leider nicht geklappt. Es ist zwar etwas schneller aber...
MHh i think i know what you mean.
First to know is, that N6 needs ~25MB of RAM. I have Ilauncher installed and can check this and i also have a nice little app which closes all open programms with 1 click, so that it does free RAM.
When not 25MB RAM avail. it will "crash" not realy but asks what apps can be closed to save RAM, but actually THIS does crash the software.
So a reboot before using it and unloading some today plugins could help. Took me some time to figure that out But 6.1 is still a little bit faster than 6.0
Greetings
You may want to check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302467
Navigon site specifically lists that Navigon 6 is NOT compatible with Universals (Qtek 9000 for example, but O2 XDA Exec is exactly the same device except keyboard backlight colour may be )
The reason for this incompatibility, as we had found in that thread, -- is that Navigon requires a lot of memory to operate and behaves badly when it does not get this amount of memory. In this case Navigon 6 is even worse than Navigon 5.
TomTom 6 can operate very well on 12-18 MB RAM and if you try to use further routes or re-enter other destinations, deals with memory release very well. Navigon does not. Even version 5 of Navigon was great if you were entering just 1 destination, but try entering another, or look for POI nearby, and you get it slower, slower and it finally hangs and you would have to warm reset the device.
(That said, I loved having Navigon 5... fantastically well made software... shame it's not for Universals. I paid good money for it and was quite appalled to find that long awaited Navigon 6 will not be useful for my Universal... a big eff you into my face. Well may be my next device will be compatible and I'll get upgrade pricing then.)
What is so special about WM6.1 over WM6.0?
Alan
For me there is only 1 Point that makes WM6.1 special...
On my Orbit it runs like hell !!!
Because of the memorymanagement its so damn fast.
Normally it takes about 8 seconds to show up the Windows folder in the normal Explorer now it takes only 4 seconds
My memory isnt going down after some time.. It stays on 25.5MB and not on 16MB like it did with WM6.
The new Chatstyle Sms feature is also very nice.
Why not ? Why upgrade to winXP or latest winVista, why not stick with ol'win98.
You upgrade for newer Os for better improved features and performance.
Hope you got your answer
If there is a good reason, yes, I will upgrade. But I do not just blindly do it without knowing the consequences (so I have NOT upgraded my 4700 from WM6 yet)
This is why I was after a list. So far - memory management is better. Is that it?

Hi,

i have read in a german newspaper that vm-ware is offering vitualmachines for android. that means you can start vm-ware with android 2.1 and run a another version of android. maybe this is interesting for handling bootloader problem and
running 2.3 custom rom.
super stupid idea to do something like that
I can imagine that vmware is offering an app to control other virtual machines thru an android mobile. running another rom within a running rom would be stupid at this point ...
See e.g. the video included in this article for more information (and/or read the German text, of course ).
Well, since ARM has no hardware virtualization support, this is at best super slow, so I would not put ans hopes on that.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
It would indeed slow the phone.. A LOT.

selbst vmware ist kein garant dafür, dass immer was vernünftiges herauskommt. vms sind overhead und der muss irgend woher kommen. falls einer meint sein handy ist im ZU schnell kann sich ja den blödsinn installieren ...
in english:
vms are overhead, which must come from somewhere. who thinks that his/her mobile is too fast, has too many unused ressources and needs to be slowed down can go ahead and install that crap, once it is available.
just like 586 run two win98. a meaningless idea..
This would be possible with Tegra2-Phones - they have 2x1GHz and this should be enough.
But on the Defy? forgot it!
