Using the hardware keyboard, I have to select XT9 every time I write a new email or text. I've tried all the suggestions I've found here but none seem to work.
Is there a way to make XT9 the default ALL the time?

Hi,
Every time I go to send a text message my keyboard keeps defaulting to the WM5 version. I then set it to "phone keyboard" which is fine for one text however, next time I send a text again it defaults back to WM5 keyboard default.
This makes one handed operation a real pain. Any ideas how i can sort this out??
Rob.
Does anybody know how to turn off autocomplete or at least edit the word list? Ever since upgrading to WM6 on my Hermes, the device can't keep up with my typing b/c it is searching for autocomplete options. This is particularly bad with any word starting with "th" -- it usually missed the h.
Settings > Input > Word Completion tab
thanks
that worked. Thanks for the help
I have p3300 with B&B 4.2 .
Is there any way to write SMS messages with standard phone keypad because writing on standard way needs two hands.I see that in input method there is option for that (touch keypad) but if I understood I need additional software for this.
Please advice me which software is the best for this option.

sorry stupid question ,I found it myself
Is it possible to turn off dictionary in built in standard keyboard? In my language there are some special characters which if added to sms message make it much bigger because of encoding issues. So short one sms message cqn be encoded even in three. It makes it more expensive plus if sms goes to another country is very often not readable because of some errors in proper encoding with roaming.
So simply - how to turn off dictionary?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can disable suggestions from the dictionary from "settings>>>language&keyboard>>touch input>>text input>> and here you should turn off the following : "prediction", "spell correction" and "word completion".
Hi all,
Have had my phone for a week now, loving it!
One nagging thing tho... Wondering if anyone has had this issue or knows what's going on:
When I want to use the S-pen to write out an email message, I cannot. Unlike with any of the other text fields (To:, Subject, CC etc), the handwriting icon does not appear for the email message field no matter what I do.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Update:
I found out that I can simply change the keyboard input to "T" to enable handwriting. Works fine, however the input "style" is different than that of the normal S-Pen input.
Still find it strange the handwriting icon isn't showing up where I need it the most!

Click to collapse
is the Direct Pen Input (under S-Pen Feature/Settings) enabled?

Yes it is.
In stock Email app, I can get the handwriting icon to show for all fields except for the message itself!
seems to be a bug. I rarely use the stock email app, yet the handwriting on it. XD
have you tried other 3rd party email apps?
